  1. I’d be very curious if it was more like the manga. Not only that, but I’d love a plastic model of the og Fuchikima
  2. Looks about right to me. The rest of the recent VF-1’s have been anorexic.
  3. I guess someone was gonna say it
  4. I’m sure it’s not too different than an insignia red, I’ll have to double check. The color guide and my Translotor on my phone don’t seem to get along. It just says red parts red, gray parts green gray so I’m not 100% sure on any of it. My plan was just to wing it with most of the colors

    Hi-Metal R

Honestly, I kinda did. Old school Macross is the biggest thing of the franchise outside Japan
  6. I remember the first film, but really don’t remember the second one. I’ve only seen it once years ago
  7. Neat project there. Can’t wait to see this one
  8. I wish I had more spare time. I still haven’t gotten the hands all put together or the gunpod ready for pictures yet. Just noticed that red stripe looks like it had a little accident. If you wanted to fix it it could just take a quick bit of masking and some red paint, or you could do some battle damage since Hikaru gets shot down a lot
  9. Don’t get me wrong, there’s something about being new that Star Wars will never have again, but that doesn’t mean a sequel has to be bad. Disney unfortunately is a very stubborn company and doesn’t have their heads in the game and keep making the same types of mistakes over and over again space opera, fantasy wise, or with super heroes. It’s always been the writing at the heart of the problem. It doesn’t matter the genre or setting if they can’t get better stories or in some cases stories that at least make sense, they will fail. If the sequels at least felt coherent, they could’ve been far better. If Obi wasn’t a weird episode of Scooby Doo and trying to change history, people would have probably liked it. if the boba show just had boba not being such a loser, people might’ve liked it, that and getting rid of the Vespa gang. If Din didn’t need constant rescuing then people might’ve like Mando season three better. There’s also the uselessness of lightsabers that Disney introduced that is annoying fans. The moment a lightsaber duel starts the ending should either be a permanent handicap or death as a finality with a ghost really only showing up from the strongest of force users.
  10. The setting isn’t the problem, it’s the reliance on old stuff that’s the issue. Set a story that isn’t attached to everything else and it wouldn’t have to wood about ruining established characters. There’s also the heavy reliance on the whole Jedi thing. But honestly, the true biggest problem is the lack of a good writing team. If things in the obi show were written well, it could’ve easily been a win, same with boba and Ahsoka and the sequels. They had the budget and decent actors and basic characters, just they all ended up kinda stupid projects. They all could have been far better without much effort. It’s the same story with everything Disney has been in charge with lately, marvel stuff could be so much better for all the same reasons, Willow could’ve been great as well.
  11. What’s with everyone pushing Dagger aside. Poor guy was the protagonist for a bunch of episodes and then barely gets like one or two items ever. Lance is in like two or three episodes and barely shown
  12. Definitely a nice kit for Macross fans
  13. The biggest changes seem to come from shrinkflation. I remember when the Jack in the Box Ultimate Cheeseburger was rather filling. Now it’s no bigger than a McDouble without the “veggies” or sesame seeds, but for more money. Oddly, it may help the American younger generation to be a bit thinner on average since the food is smaller and more costly while people from my generation contemplate getting seconds before checking our wallets. The younger people may actually get used to these smaller food items and that may become the norm.
  14. I always found that outfit awkward in the show. It works for the manga since she doesn’t seem out of place with lack of clothes on the ladies, but is strange in the series. She just shows up at important places with conservatively dressed politicians and such with a few dudes that look slightly homeless while she’s in a thong and no pants day for half a season, I guess till it got cold and tells people she’s the one in charge of a murder investigation or cyber security situation
  15. Reminds me of the time Obi chopped off a dudes hand to end a bar fight. He was skilled enough to deflect blaster shots, yet instead of slicing the blaster, he went for the mutilation move to show who the real badass was
  16. It’s an interesting kit in that it’s very poseable more like a Bandai kit, but the construction almost feels a bit like a hasegawa kit. Sort of a blend between old and new in some odd ways. The soft plastic makes for quick nub clean up though
  17. I think you’re really only gonna need a touch of gray for the head lasers and maybe some clear colors on the clear parts and a little black in some recessed areas. Don’t forget the glue on the loose bits like the circles, those things love to just plop off. Other than being a little old school it’s mostly a fun build with very few seams that show. Oddly it has seams on the thumbs and Gunpod that are the most noticeable
  18. When I was a kid years before the prequels, I always thought of the space ships and the battle of Hoth or speeder chases through forests of alien planets or droids and giant walking machines and large battleships and fighters dog fightin. The whole space knight thing was kinda like a little cherry on top rather than the focus for me.
  19. I was thinking more like plastic man struttin down the way
  20. I guess it’s not available at the U.S. pbandai store
  21. Where was it available?
  22. $71 ish at hobby search and I have some points there that will give me some savings, so I’ll probably order from there unless I see a fantastic price pop up. Inflation sucks and she doesn’t even seem to come with much other than the basics.
  23. I’m kinda glad you started with a rough one first. The old kits ain’t easy, but if you can handle that it must’ve made this gundam go together like a dream.
