Wave 1/100 - MACROSS ZERO VF-0S/A Phoenix Valkyrie Battroid
Big s replied to Raikkonen's topic in Model kits
These are just a rerelease of the old ones, with the parts to make either of the versions they previously released. Still a good lil kit, but they never did the fighter or gerwalk parts like with their VF-1. Maybe they’ll get creative and finally make them. Although, I was hoping for Bandai hg kits with better articulation and such -

Thrills and chills don’t exist in this show. That’s why I started viewing it as a comedy instead. If you try watching it that way it’s far more tolerable and kinda enjoyable with all the Scooby Doo style scenes. It’s literally a bunch of stuff goes wild, some one hides things pop out of unrealistic places and then people hide again while the next group passes by not noticing the first group while things happen and pop out unexpectedly. I’d almost think it might be even more enjoyable if you replace the background music with the Benny Hill theme. It is tough to like the “children” mainly because they seem to want to help people, but don’t really seem to care much for people. the Aliens are far too invincible and the soldiers are far too useless. Aliens had the problem where the soldiers were extremely effective and the aliens were only a problem due to numbers, but here we have soldiers that are seemingly super ninjas or something with bullets that can’t even injure the Aliens. Nobody that takes over an Alien project is on the same page and everything just kinda feels a bit like a jumble. I do actually like the Eye Guy and I am having fun with the show, even if it’s not for the intended reason. And poop jokes should never be used in something trying to be serious, but it works great for a comedy. Pi or pie? This show makes me laugh

I think you’d have to photoshop out the blue background

What’s wrong with the articulation? Looks like a double joint with a swivel joint where the elbow meets the forearm

I’m rooting for eye guy. I like how he counts with 💩. I don’t know the numerical value of 💩, but it was the best part of the episode. personally, I’m just watching this as a flawed comedy and I feel much better about that decision. I can’t take anything seriously in this show, so I’ll just enjoy it for the laughs. I kinda get the feeling that she’s either gonna sacrifice herself to save her bro or be the only one left after everyone gets killed off. But I don’t know if they’re planning a second season of this silliness. I just remembered, 💩is the universal symbol for pie

I can’t remember if it was Prometheus or covenant that brought up the company from blade runner.

I hate it when autocorrect goes hardcore

Looking a bit closer at the panel lines in the body right under the caution arrow and they appear exactly the same, just sized up for the new scale like the way Toynami did the Valkyrie from banpresto years ago. That would be a really wide panel line in 1/72

I do get the feeling that they tend to copy ideas from others, but I don’t know if they directly resized anything or just remolded anything like how bad toynami did. As far as this one, it’s a bit tougher than the rest to tell, I’d have to see more pics

The wave destroids already have a style that’s very tv oriented. Plamax definitely goes very tv and hasegawa has been leaning more to that style as well. I think as long as it’s in scale, it would fit very well no matter which of those companies puts it out.

Talked my lady into watching Warfare since everyone seems to be bringing it up lately since it dropped on Max or HBO Max or whatever it’s called now. I personally liked it, but not quite as much as others and my lady although liking war movies didn’t really like it at all. I think the issue is that while the action is done really well, it’s bit light on story. Or maybe that it isn’t so much a story, but an experience. It probably could’ve helped to have a bit of exposition about what was going on and maybe could have been a bit easier to get a feel for things if they showed some of the film from the other groups involved. Overall, I personally liked it, but I feel like it will be more enjoyed from guys that dig action or military folk than the average person.

Looks like they got a lot of detail in that head crest

Looks like it’s coming along fairly well

I was a bit worried since it had that A24 tag and my lady seems to hate every time I suggest one of their movies ever since The Green Knight

As KOG said, it’s very unique. The only thing that might be similar are the missile hatches and even those don’t look exactly the same.the main reason that wave probably decided to do the main 3 in 1/72 and the prototypes for those 3 in 1/100 is that other than a few little bits on them, the lower halves are the same. I don’t think they ever even teased a spartan, although they did tease a 1/100 monster many many years ago. Maybe if the demand is high enough with the main three they might consider a 1/100 Spartan. I wouldn’t doubt that Plamax or even Hasegawa are thinking about it since they’re both running low on 1/72 og Macross mecha and wave had that fairly recent rerelease of the big three destroids and a 1/72 monster from those companies might be a little tough on the joints.

Who knows these days. Seems every company is missing their deadlines these days for various reasons. Hopefully it’s not as creepy as too many booty bits going missing. i had a preorder from hiya that was supposed to be out before last October and barely got a notification for it being in processing. It was supposed to be a Christmas present last year but I had to do an alternate item instead. I kinda forgot about it and I think it’s unfortunately getting the expensive dhl shipping since I ordered it from a spot that doesn’t hold items and now that’s probably the only option. Luckily the Rogue was ordered at hlj, so maybe things will smooth out when it eventually comes out

Maybe one day there will be a fourth and maybe we might even get lucky and see a fifth that has chicken legs, but super chonky

I know a lot of old battletech fans that would love to see this -
2 Toms are better than one

Seems they’re really hoping this will bring new fans, Bandai is adding the main character to their 30 minute missions line of kitshas removable armor and doesn’t look too bad so far, but I’d hope they eventually do the og samurai troopers/ronin warriors as well
