I’ve got this one as well as the Balzac version in the one day pile. I’m still preparing my first set of front mission kits and a set of all four Regult kits from hasegawa. I’m hoping to have time to do the Queadluun Rau when that comes in since it’s probably gonna jump to head of the line. But I think the Tekkaman kits will be at least getting the trim and part clean up soon. Thanks for posting pictures, it shows what I’ve got to do coming up soon. Although I’d probably put everything else from Tekkaman off to the side if they put out Dagger. For some reason he was my favorite of the Bad guys on the show

I almost liked it. I was into the first season, but the second one was like they couldn’t decide on how to go with the story, so they decided to throw everything that anyone came up with into it without a real focus and it just turned into a spectacular mess that nobody could clean up even if it had gotten another season.

Until recently I had only seen it referred to in shows like Southpark. It came up in the moderoid section. I was finally able to see the movie and it was really bad, but in a way that you can laugh at. It’s seemed so obscure that I am surprised it had a model kit and that people in Japan actually bought it. It makes me wonder if they regard the movie in a very different way than we do, or at least those that have actually seen the movie -
It was a pretty early concept. I think it would probably have improved as time went on as far as price and quality. Hopefully they take some time and get things a bit better before trying again, since the concept is a neat idea and I kinda think that this was just the start of toy companies trying this. I saw a thing on tested a few months back where a company had started doing 3D scans similar to how people would just go into a portrait booth. It would do a scan and print statues in full color. They seemed really fragile though, but the moment someone comes up with a product and service others will try and improve the ideas.

You can pretty much eyeball that this kit blows away the expensive toy in every mode

Out of the chain ones, I like Del Taco fries the best, especially the asada fries, but my favorites came from a one off called Johnny’s in Riverside ca. it was at the mythical burger corner where there are four burger places at the same intersection. They have a McDonald’s and Farmer boys on one corner, an In’n Out on another and Johnny’s on the other with a Carl’s Jr just a few feet on the other side of the freeway. I think Johnny’s was able to survive against huge competition because they were on the high ground -

I haven’t had Burger King in a long while, not so much because of a dislike, more of a fact that I can’t find one anymore. All we have with a drive thru up here is a McDonald’s, home of the sad soggy fries and worst nuggets in the biz. -
To be honest, I’m glad they’re taking their time on this one.

For some reason, it felt ok I had a pretty good idea of where things were going for some reason. It was sort of like Titanic. Somehow you just knew what was coming…….somehow -
I’ll let you know as soon as the tomahawk comes out. It’s already been more than a few years

I was somewhat interested to see where things would go in a year or so. Maybe better base figures or upgrades in customization on the faces or lower prices. I guess it just wasn’t a popular thing, probably due to the price because the idea was actually pretty cool.

I get the feeling that Megafoce isn’t as much of a joke overseas -
He’s kind of a 50/50 kind guy all around. For every Alien there’s a Covenant. Not sure on shows, since I think I’ve only seen one that he was involved with and that was Raised by Wolves. That show went off the rails while jumping shark and somehow crashed into a fridge that got nuked

If we don’t notice the mistake until it’s mentioned there’s a mistake, then it’s definitely not a fatal mistake. At least in the model world. It’s different in real life though. I think it looks great

They still aren’t accurate, maybe just people getting disappointed by them not being accurate is a bit newer. But that is probably due to more available resources and even then it’s hard to trust the available resources. There was a lot of backlash for The Woman King for not being accurate, but then another movie that wasn’t extremely accurate would be Bohemian Rhapsody, but most people liked the it and accepted that it was just entertainment. It’s best not to dwell on the actual history and realize that if it’s Hollywood, it’s going to be a good chunk of fiction. That doesn’t excuse a movie for just being bad though and I haven’t seen Napoleon and really wasn’t interested in it anyway, but hearing that it’s not so great will probably have avoid it more

That’s really true. But personally it could have a blank box as long as the contents and instructions are great. Box art and logos are just icing on the cake. With a lot of old kits the box was actually the best part. I could stare at those pictures and my imagination would run wild. The kit inside rarely was anything near the box art, and you really had to work on those. I’m glad that we’re in an age where we can have a cool kit as well as great box art.

I don’t think they can do his green Skull Squadron 1A, the brown is ok, but I guess since the green is the DYRL color then it’s a no no as far as I know

I could see why they would get that impression since the display is Southern Cross, Mospeada, and Macross. Basically everything that Robotech used -
I don’t think they’re allowed to do the DYRL stuff anymore. I get a little lost now and then on these rules though now that I think about it, it’s possible they may not be able to do a lot of the odd squadrons that didn’t show up in the tv series. They can easily do the cool Alaska base ones though

To be honest, I haven’t had any problems finding Bandai items. They get a markup stateside, but that’s not the same as a scalper situation. I think the real problem is the markup that I mentioned. It’s a bit higher than it should be depending more on how much the item costs rather than weight or size. An hg kit seems to only be a couple bucks higher, while an hmr in a similar sized box might be twenty or so higher.

Those have more of an 80’s knock off kinda vibe goin. I guess it’s the knock off squadron
