The 19 looks good in fighter and poses well in Battroid. The 17 poses at least as well in Battroid and actually has a Gerwalk that isn't terrible in addition. In terms of the fast packs, there's a lot of internals for transformation, which means some moving internal parts, that's where the extra expense comes from. They do contain magnets too. On the other hand the 19 doesn't even support additional packs. I will admit the 17 doesn't fit together as well as the 19 does, but that doesn't make it less fun. It's certainly not at the level of getting a VF-1 then a VF-0 or YF-19 where they things didn't hold together and where floppy.

Okay, hold on, Knightdramon obviously has a HUGE bone to pick here. The VF-17 is not that hard to transform, all three of my 17's (1 S, 2 D's) all hold their legs up just fine in Fighter mode. The Gun looks cool, no idea what his issue is there. Yes, the legs are a bit long and thin, but that's just reality riding up along Anime Magic and it doesn't look horrible. The 17S looks like a brute in Battroid and it plenty easy/fun to pose and looks really menacing. Plus Gerwalk is actually pretty decent to pose as well and can look cool in it's own right. The Fast Packs make my D look cooler as well. I'm not sure what he was looking for but for $50you go from a bare 17 to a cooler, more armored one, and that's all I really expected. Reconsider the 17, it's pretty fun to play with IMO. The 171 is also very cool looking in all three modes but I personally don't like the transformation at all. Well, the transformation to Battroid. Back and forth between Fighter and Gerwalk is relatively easy. With the Armor on it's even more of a pain and even Fighter to Gerwalk and back suffers. That being said, it looks great in all three modes and poses really well in Gerwalk and Battroid. Other people around these boards don't seem to have as hard a time transforming the 171 as I do so my minuses may not be yours. Bottom line, both look great and pose well.

Even if the head is silly looking, I already have a 29 I like in Battroid, Isamu's. This one can be my really sweet Low-Vis Fighter/Gerwalk 29.

So standard release because it's Ozma, huh?

They're not from outer space. But the mutagen that mutated them came from a space-faring race performing covert operations on Earth. Which is actually consistent with the comics.

It's a bit odd how they've borrowed some semblance of the original turtles so well and then add other parts that are... so bad. Mikey with the sweater/jeans would be okay, but the additional jewelry/bling looks bad/busy. Donnie with the head gear/equipment also makes sense, even the glasses and smaller frame. The Turtles did have bandana-like head bands at one point, so Raphs look makes sense for the most part, also since he's the psychotic "tough guy" the bulkier look/shades/bandana fits him too, kind of a biker style but the head-bandana also lends itself to the semi-Japanese look the rest of his armor exumes. Leo almost looks good but some of the additional armor he has on looks too busy or out of place. I guess because they're "teenagers" and it has to fit in with what all of the kids are doing these days they're all supposed to be blinged up but it's too much. They took the source, got it decently right in several cases, then fraked it up.

I hope the wings in all modes somehow lock into place and it isn't just a friction joint. I could see that becoming loose, especially depending on how it's stowed/angled in Battroid. Yamato, and now Arcadia, have had to fudge the transformation of that part on both the VF-19 and now the YF-19 though it looks more accurate here on the YF-19 even if the transformation still isn't quite so. It's easier to do it this way on the YF-19 then the VF-19.

Since they're largely using the same mold it's possible the cockpit still does rotate, you just can't access it because of the way the canopy works.
-
I believe that was answered quite awhile ago. Something to do with the hinges of the cockpit prevent that gimmick from working the same was what I last understood.

Slightly off topic, does anybody know how many missiles those green boxes carry?

That's a slightly older pic, however it's one I haven't seen before. And shows off that the ankles are as unremarkable as the previous Yammie 19's... however a few pics back they show the new missiles attached to a VF-1. That's cool. http://arcadia.ac/yf19/diary/04/page_10.php

My 19S is permanently in Gerwalk because in order to keep it stable I had to force, and mess up, the ankles pushing back farther then they should go (they're useless and floppy in Battroid and Fighter now.) The Gerwalk mode here is exactly like that except we haven't seen or know what they've done to address the "weak ankles" as Mr. K put it. It's a bit too bad they couldn't work another click into the upper thigh joint, considering all of the Bandai Frontier Valks have skinnier thighs and all have remarkable articulation at that point. But then if the ankles haven't been fixed in a manner that allows more movement then it won't matter in the long run because they won't angle back far enough to maintain a stance with the upper thighs that far forward.

Hmm, I have several pics of my 19P on a stand. It held just fine, though the Lerx was partly rotated and loose because of it and I was constantly worried the neck was going to snap. It really is a poor place to hold that thing up though.

The grey markings are, however, not on the line-art and I personally feel like they're out of place and mess with the flow of the paint scheme.
-
I can understand if you don't mess with decals that you'd want everything tampoed however I prefer that they don't do it. My problem with the Bandai's is they make their Valks way too busy and I can't customize them without having to mask, or rub off the tampo and then go find my own stickers/paint/etc... to make it look how I like.

And don't forget the terrible solution they came up with for the 171... Looks like they have most of the markings on the thing now too, though I think it would look better if they went back to the more blue color on the feet, etc...

Really, all we've learned here is that you should ask permission, completely finish everything, then release it all at once so everybody can see it (and back it up) before the cease & desist arrives.

X-Men: Days of Future Past, in theaters May 23, 2014

Rogue was pretty much pointless in the films. They kind of tried to make her the "kid" Wolverine looks after, like Kitty and Jubilee in the comics, but instead she was just irritating and worthless.- 329 replies

I own all four of the renewal Valks. The left leg on my 25G has become loose after sitting on it's stand and I'm not happy about that at all. I know once you've owned something anything can start to wear and get weak but I'd heard out of the package the torso adjustment on the Destroids was flopy, that's the only reason why I didn't buy one. I can't back out of the renewals now though, I already own all of them.

It seems to me they've learned their lesson from Bandai. Largely limited runs so you really only have to pre-order and they aren't going to announce a pile of stuff at once so you don't hold out waiting for your "favorite" because you might not know if they'll ever release it again.
