  1. I was just thinking about this. If Kawamori liked the Yammie VF-19 so much the Kai version essentially became the official line-art who's to say Kawamori isn't going to see this thing work and decide the same thing?
  2. The last thing I ordered from Mandarake was an extra set of Fast Packs for my Max 1A (Sunday) and the cost of EMS and DHL was exactly the same. Also, DHL arrived yesterday. Maybe for something larger like a 1/48 the price changes but for smaller packages that does not appear to be the case.
  3. Why only use DHL if you have a business address?
  4. No, it's there because the legs aren't actually in the correct alignment and the swoop in the body is practically non-existent. Plus there's the gullet and the fact the entire cockpit/nose section is pushed up instead of swooping back down. Honestly, while this YF-19 looks good it's still a bit of an oddity because it has it's roots in the M7 version which is different in a lot more ways and it's been retooled to fit the YF-19 look instead. That top down shows how much more wide and squat the body is, but that lineart is kind of ridiculous with the tiny shield tucked in the back. In Battroid it would look comically small. If you compare the side-view shot with the new loaded down one of the undercarriage you'll see just how much of an optical illusion that black side-gap is as well. It's barely noticeable from the side. Unless you're posing the new 19 in a way that you see it completely from the top-down how is it an issue?
  5. Well, most of this design is based off of the Yammie VF-19's. Unless they've made some changes to the ankles and to the upper thigh joint (which we have no indication of), no, the Gerwalk was extremely limited on the VF-19 and this one looks to follow unfortunately. Plenty of people here are beyond tired of my tirades about the Gerwalk mode, and disagree, but we can all agree that there's no way in hell the VF-19's are anywhere near close to the dynamic poses any of the Frontier valks can achieve.
  6. Love it with the full load out. I do think it would look better if the shade of the green were a tad darker but I'm really veering into begging/choosing territory with that. Only thing I don't understand is why they didn't color the knee covers the same as the rest of the tan plane. But I guess from a certain perspective it looks like a black band angled instead.
  7. The Max 1S was never that popular anyway. Only once it was way out of print and it didn't look like more VF-1's would be released did it become "popular."
  8. Holy crap, a lap full!!! I wonder how they're going to change the color more? Also... it's getting close to finally being here!!!! There does appear to be a bit of gloss on that thing though.
  9. I've actually been wanting to get an extra max 1A and set of GBP armor to make just such a custom. Now that I think about it there's also a pic in the Masterfile book that shows a white 1J head with a Blue stripe that would look good with the Grey and blue armor as well. It would make photo shopping that b&w pic even easier.
  10. I understand. I can't find one at $50 to say nothing of three.
  11. Dunno, as I was very happy with the way the colors already were it's more likely they'll be less satisfactory.
  12. Wow, where did you find 3 of them for $50???
  13. Or Kristanna Loken will show up and jam a VF-1 into somebodies forehead.
  14. I thought Hi-Metals felt fine. They just had too many part-swapping bits and I had problems with the proportions in some modes. The VF-1's in particular are rather fun to pose in Battroid mode.
  15. How is something fan-made setting a bar low? Experten had better stop those silly little Macross toys of theirs otherwise we won't be able to spot the mediocre Bandai and Arcadia stuff? Really? I think you're doing just the opposite, it gets zero pass from you specifically because you don't like the name. There is a difference between a "critique" and saying "this is a piece of crap." You've only insulted what they've done. And if it is the case it's critique then everyone was merely critiquing your posts. As a matter of fact they have judged you by your work. The very little bit of work you've put into complaining about a free video you don't have to watch. I have a laundry list of things wrong with these videos too. I did state I think the VF-1 model used is a mistake. I'll tell you right now that referencing Eve seems like a big issue, but then I've never been big on techno-mysticism type stuff (perhaps they will surprise me.) Setting it in Argentina seems a bit silly but whatever, it's not like we haven't been highly American-centric with our entertainment and nobody here, or in Japan with Macross, have come closer to doing something like this live. In the end it doesn't matter. They're having a bit of fun and not selling me anything, I lose nothing for appreciating what effort they have put in.
  16. Why are you trying so hard to hate on something that's FAN MADE? As a matter of fact I think I'll direct you to the readers digest version of what Exo told you in The Walking Dead thread. Don't like it? Leave.
  17. I won't buy anything that big, period.
  18. Have you even seen Power Rangers? This is nothing like it. So far it has as stupid the meta-physical crap as Zero, Eve versus... singing/floating rock nonsense. Even still, it's a better story in ten minutes then all of the crap in Zero.
  19. My reason for why Martha was a better companion then Amy or Donna. She had medical training and she was a looker. That puts her above Amy, who was useless except for being attractive, and Donna who wasn't even eye-candy and was irritatingly belligerent to boot. Really, at least Amy and The Doctor were tied to the fact they were both united a very early stages in each others lives. So there's that common bond, even if she was useless. Martha and Donna were just... there.
  20. My gunpod doesn't open up either. But I hate the look of the opened gunpods from Frontier anyway and I think this one looks awesome as is so I haven't bothered. I just pop the scope and bayonet and call it good... though it SHOULD work even if it doesn't bother me. That's bad QC on these things.
  21. This seems like the perfect thing to have as a give away at the MacrossWorld Conventions.
  22. The bird-man and finale in general.
  23. They don't do a lot with Clara, she was pretty much conceived as The Doctor's own Deus Ex Machina for his entire lifespan (which is getting pretty exponential at this point.) Then again, after going through that rift and witnessing every aspect of him across all of his lifetimes it's not inconceivable she would suddenly be emotional. In Day of the Doctor she became emotional when she was witness to The Smith Doctor going along with blowing up Galifrey, which was totally against his character. So it would make sense she would get highly emotional when he was about to die because she's seen him across his entire lifespan. If you want to argue "worst" companions, at least in the modern era, it's easily Donna. All bravado and ignorance/arrogance without an ounce of intelligence or ability. Her aging father was far more compelling a person... then again, so was Rory's.
  24. I might be happy to buy a V3 VF-1. I would have to see it to know. I know there are things on the V2 that can be fixed and things I wish that were. The only thing is I already own so many the thought of buying all new one's (because you know I have no self-control otherwise I wouldn't own 20 VF-1 repaints already) isn't appealing. I kind of hope they do the VF-11Maxl just because it's pretty different, though I'm not a huge fan of the design. Gerwalk is probably the only mode I would leave it in unless Battroid were really fun to pose. I would be curious what new improvements to the relative 11 design they could come up with for the Maxl. Then again I'd take one of almost anything new they came out with.
