  1. great job so far!!! It's gonna be awesome when ur finished!
  2. I will vouch for the sound being absolutley incredible at an IMAX movie. I saw the 3rd Matrix in IMAX the first time and the sound quality blew me away..(and I'm a picky sound guy who does pro sound for a living so I can tell when theaters suck and when they don't). I haven't tried an IMAX 3D movie yet...maybe I'll try the AOTC 3D re-release and see if I like it. The main reason is there isn't one anywhere remotely close to me either...which sucks.
  3. I just got back from seeing it. Went to the 11:50AM showing and had less than 10 ppl in the theater..NICE! I saw it in normal Real3D. Now I'm NOT a fan of any 3D, but I will say this...I didn't have a headache this time. (the first and only other time I tried it was way back on Toy Story 3). The 3D was cool i guess, but I guess I'm old school and frankly I think it is distracting from trying to watch and really get into the movie. Whatever.. Here's my .02. As a huge fan of the LOTR trilogy..extended cuts..(only way to go..) I think in a nutshell it is a good film. Not great, but good. It is long, but honestly, I didn't feel it dragged at any point really. Could it have been 20 or 30 minutes shorter?? Sure. But hey..it's PJ's movie so whatever. It has about the same pacing as Fellowship in my opinion. I'll say this...if you enjoyed the old trilogy, you'll enjoy this. More of the same. Some good back story to Fellowship as well. I'll go see the next one in the theater as well.
  4. thanks! none of my friends care anything about my sci-fi hobby's so I like to share it with people on here at least so somebody besides me can enjoy it. I have a good collection of Star Wars stuff as well..maybe I'll post pics of that if the mod's will permit me the slight breach of forum rules...
  5. Been a while since I posted pics of my collection so I was bored tonight and took some new pics...still trying to get lighting right through glass with flash...it aint easy..anyway enjoy..these are the best of the lot I think..
  6. Agreed !!!
  7. I've had a BMW 128i for 4 years now. Best car I have ever owned. Bought it new in 2009. No issues whatsoever. Solid engine and it handles like a dream once you take the runcrap tires off and put some good rubber on. Got 46000 miles on it now and trying to decide if I wanna trade in or not.
  8. Welcome! Your best bet is to keep watch for end of year and summer sales at HLJ/Overdrive. They sell out fairly quick when they are new usually, but tend to re-stock and eventually---if you wait long enough--be cheaper by x-mas or the summer months...however..some NEVER get restocked and your screwed. Also check out Nippon-Yasen. Some guys really like them for Valks around here. Some of the best deals to be had are right here in the "For Sale or Trade" section here on MW. Keep a close watch on that as well. Don't do Ebay or Amazon on Yamato Valks..your're gonna get hosed in my opinion. Hope this helps! Ask more questions..all the guys around here are cool and will help you out. Although your wallet will HATE you from now on....
  9. I was feeling particularly crazy one day and cut every single sticker (even all the "No Steps") down before stickering my Cavelier... after seeing the result I wish i had taken the time over the years and done every single Valk that way! Especially the dark colored one's..It's a pain but the result and eyestrain is well worth it!
  10. No it isn't, because those of us who didn't get one can still moan and bitch about how we want them to make a toy of it!!!
  11. It's freaking gorgeous whatever it is, along with the soldier....
  12. I got them from a nice guy on the forums here who sold me his water slide decals, photo etch parts and the glow-in-the-dark stickers that came with his unassembled sdf-1 kit over a year ago. He wasn't going to use them. I paid it forward by giving the glow-in-the-dark stickers to another fellow member
  13. Thanks guys! Gotta love the SDF-1's!! Old or new...they just RULE! (where's my TV version Yamato??? you rat bastar...)...... <_<
  14. Slow Sunday afternoon so I decided to get some of my fav macross toys out out of the cabinet...and play with them! also testing out my new iPad camera!.... Don't know why some of them are sideways....but anyways...enjoy!
  15. This thing looks absolutely AMAZING! soooooo glad I bit the bullit and pre-ordered!
  16. Yeh...it had ventilation.
  17. Somewhere on the Internet ....maybe it was YouTube, I saw a guy build a nice spray booth out of high-quality pegboard...that way he had a ton of little holes to hold the parts on the sides and bottom of the booth and spray from almost every direction....and the back part the holes acted as part of the ventilation system.
  18. I always stir my paint as well with toothpicks before mixing. I also stir them as I'm airbrushing if it sits for more than just a few minutes between coats. I find the acrylics separate from the thinner rather quickly. As I live in Texas I deal with a lot of temperature extremes, from very hot to very cold to a lot of humidity, so I just kinda paint when I need to paint and hope for the best! As I have a garage to work out of it's not that bad usually. I've been keeping up with this thread as I need to build a spray booth of my own. I don't like using cardboard boxes as the small hairs from the cardboard get into my paint and cause me a lot of stress!
  19. Damn...I've been looking for that kit!
