Apparently there is a newer version of our beloved Detolfs now for anyone who is interested..... https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/blaliden-glass-door-cabinet-black-00520519/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=11019489087&gbraid=0AAAAAD27g7w7JINv_96PNdwMcZmBiVqu-&gclid=CjwKCAjwr8LHBhBKEiwAy47uUpad2p4yQ-sO6Ru2mkT2mObLBzCqV5KsFUdkn4Odhuxwwy5213J08xoCJgUQAvD_BwE

Not exactly ON the workbench, more beside it, but anyway, resurrected one of my two IKEA Deltofs from the garage today and found an extra power supply I forgot I bought like 15 years ago when I bought the cabinets! (Kitten ð had chewed through the power cords when she was little years ago so the RGB LEDs hadn't worked since) . I did have tons of Macross stuff in these for years but for now anyway they are going to flank my new hobby desk with recent models/car collections in them!

If anyone has 3 extra bills laying around......best price I've seen in a while for the Perfect Grade Falcon https://www.amazon.com/Bandai-Perfect-Grade-Millennium-Falcon/dp/B073ZRGX6T/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=nwKBC&content-id=amzn1.sym.7353e935-710e-4162-bbba-1f3ae9f93ec0&pf_rd_p=7353e935-710e-4162-bbba-1f3ae9f93ec0&pf_rd_r=HZJ9SSN9EAD02ENNNYPQ&pd_rd_wg=F7Ejy&pd_rd_r=ef684181-e8c6-4b50-8faf-2b321ba17eda&ref_=pd_hp_d_atf_dealz_cid&th=1

@Papa Rat - Photoetch will DEFINITLEY drive you to the brink of madness and beyond...LOL. I don't mind some, but man, there's a LOT for the Texas, and it's not all easy. I haven't event gotten to the hard stuff yet. *Sigh* - Sometimes I DOOoooo miss my days of building Ban Dai Star Wars kits---click, snap, click, paint, decal, DONE! But then where's the challenge right????......Right???? ðŽ @Chas - No, no annealing, the last time I tried that, melting happened....LOL
-
How I spent my last two days...... 1/350 photoetch is........not my favorite thing to do. I'll just leave it that. Only messed up one spot, I'll have to dig out some extra Titanic railing to fix it, but overall, I'm gonna give myself a thumbs up on this. Never rolled PE before and never folded tiny little three dimensional baskets either... And PE staircases are my nemesis! I need a LARGE drink... LOL. And this is only the first tower I've completed... ðĪ ð ð

I tried wiggling mine and they seem preeeety darn permanently attached. Scared to do any more force.

DHL says my Zola Patrol is out for delivery today! I'm just going to enjoy it and try not to think about the ludicrous shipping! This is my first Valk in prob 3 or 4 years in any scale.
-
AAAAND on that note! I just go a text from DHL requesting ADDITIONAL TARRIFF PAYMENT for my package to the tune of $23 more bucks. Bringing the total now to $57 for one HM-R toy. Yeh I'm DOOOOOONE after this with this crap. Officially retired from toy collecting from Japan for now and the foreseeable future.
-
#YamatoDidItBetter. I'm out. I'll keep my 17D
-
DHL shipping from AE for the Zola Patrol was $34 for me. Just paid it. Seemed about normal from pre-covid days for one package from Japan to me. Maybe a hair more. Nothing to cry about though. I like DHL over the other options in the past couple of years.
-
Ok, now I'm getting excited for this! I totally had forgot about pre-ordering it!
-
Yeh, I finally caved in and pre-ordered the TV QRau. It's my favorite Zent Armor. Also put the GLAUG in my private warehouse from HLJ. Guess I'll eventually pay a jillion dollars to have them both shipped once the QRau drops.

Decided to break out the TEXAS from the depths of the closet stash after over a year of not touching it. A little bit of photoetch on a quiet Sunday morning is a good way to get my feet wet again on this build. Not to shabby after not doing PE for a while. Small steps Ellie... LOL. For those who have done ships in 1/350, you know what I mean! ð

Yeh it will!

@505thAirborne - BROH! That look SOOOOO MEAN! I love it! Great job!!!

@Return To Kit Form Absolutely phenomenal work!!! The painting and the layers of weathering are just astonishing! Outstanding presentation! Love it!

Yes, it's the Academy 1/72 bird. I'm going the NATO Black now, going to mask some panels as you suggest with some very dark greys and then try some light oil washes for streaks and white chalk, but like you mentioned, I've had that disappear with clear coat. @Papa Rat - I still say you're waaaaay more experienced than you let on! But if you aren't, you have some serious God given talent for modeling! That Elint looks GREAT!

Started knocking back the pre-shading on the Cat's Eye ðïļâðĻïļ and the Blackbird on Monday. I'm determined to make the SR-71 not just look BLACK... but like they do in reality...which isn't easy.
-
@VF-1A Grunt - Do it! It's a beautiful kit!
-
Mottling preshading started on the 1/72 Moscato Cat's Eye ðïļ. This is as far as I've gotten on this kit in 10+ or so years.... ðĪ ð. Still deciding on what paint scheme I want to do, kinda want to do something fun and crazy ðĪŠ. Also picked up a Dspiae mini rechargeable electric sander, looked kinda cool for $30.... because I despise sanding... LOL

Perfectly stated! My feelings precisely!

Final Report : Enterprise Leaving Space Dock : NCC-1701...No bloody A, B, C or D! ð. Polar Lights 1/1000 TOS Enterprise Space Seed Edition completed. This was a looong build because life interfered over the past year and a half, this kit was old, you can just tell.... it's my least favorite Enterprise design and the fit issues... My goodness. Soooo much putty and sanding to get rid of ALL the seams..thought it would never end... along with other issues that cropped up along the way...stupid clear domes that are now forever rattling around inside the saucer... But anyways!!!... I'm pretty darn happy with the final result. Looks good enough for me to want to display it at work with my other 1/1000 scale ships. Enjoy the pics! Onto the next unfinished kit on the list! ð

I know the Yamato Fan Racer kit I got from somewhere had the pilot with it. I don't thiiiiink I bought it with my Angel Birds release, but I can't say for sure. No Landing gear though did bum me out. I had plans to make a cool diorama with the 1:60 hand painted Petite Cola machine and figures from @EXO back in the day along side the Yamato VF-1D and Roy's TV-1S and the Angel Bird 1A.
-
@tekering Awesome looking Black Hole ðģïļ ship! I'm forever jealous of that Borg cube of yours! Over here the TOS Enterprise is in the final stages... As terrifying as it sounds, I'm going to attempt sanding down the decals on this one in order to get that finish looking silky smooooth... Fingers crossed ðĪ! couple of good solid coats of TS - 13 Clear down 1st! If I'm not careful this thing might actually end up looking half way decent!
