  1. Past hour
  2. I wonder if this was just a placeholder for third party sellers.
  3. Today
  4. Speaking of FATTY markings 😱
  5. While I feel that the new arms for Bonecrusher are an improvement I wonder why they didn’t design whole new arms that gave the toy a more contoured arm, where the upper and lower arms are not a continuous shape. (I know I know cartoon accuracy for the win but the balljoint and entire arm look atrocious)
  6. Even modern anime is very light on markings and they usually don’t exact all. Newer gundam shows and Macross or whatever, and you may be lucky to see an emblem. All that 3D cg stuff and it still isn’t there other than extremely rare cases. I don’t know if the new Votoms stuff will have much as far as markings or just go bare minimum
  7. Tamashii Nations will be selling the April rerelease of the Roy Focker Armour Valkerie (GBP) through Amazon! No price is given as of yet but might be a cheap option!
  8. Votoms Plastic Model World will be held on the 15 of March. This will probably be when Wave will announce their next 1/24 AT, I hope Bandai also makes some announcements as well!
  9. Likely true, but remember that anime in 1980's where drawn by hand so extra detailing or marking would be a lot of work! Since anime was also made to sell toys or models it was up to the that manufacturer to add more detail to make it look more realistic! Takara did all the markings in 1982/83 for the model kits that is mostly still used up to this day! The only slight upgrade was the ATM-09-ST 21C which used a new font for the # marking. Bandai had to do their own graphic marking on the FATTY to make it look more realistic and I thing they did a good job in keeping the marking subtle! In the new OVA, Die Graue Hexe, the marking will be present right away since the use a computer to calculate every frame.
  10. Well, for better or worse, the producers of Macross use different naming schemes (a la Delta's characters named after famous jets and pilots), and they seem to choose less silly names out of public suggestions*—such as "Messiah" in the Newtype mail-in promotion during the initial part of Frontier's run. * https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RRS_Sir_David_Attenborough#Naming_poll ... though, it would be great to see NUNS ships named "Boaty McBoatface" and "It's Bloody Cold Here"! 🤣
  11. Note that the Legioss foot configuration is not the same for diver and soldier modes. The Toyrise appears to have more limited foot articulation that doesn't allow the front of the foot to splay out and flatten in diver mode as it typically would. It also looks like the heel cannot be extended back like the Sentinel does with a slider mechanism. Compare the Toyrise to Sentinel below, pic courtesy of Jenius' site I see no reason why you couldn't leave the feet configuration and use it diver for soldier as well and I doubt it would negatively affect balance. It just wouldn't be accurate to how the feet are supposed to be configured and look for soldier, which is the heel flipping down and not extended back like for diver. Using the diver feet configuration for soldier would also reduce the height of the figure and the figure is pretty small as is being smaller than the Sentinel.
  12. Yes, it's the same kit. I sort of lost track of this build last year and I hadn't posted an update on it for a while. I was documenting the build here and there, and I'll probably have another video done soon.
  13. Genuinely appreciate the offer. But, since I have the original release, I resolved not to buy the new one unless I saw it in a store. The reports of QC issues are making me glad I went that route instead of buying one online.
  14. What I'm wondering is, instead of configuring the front foot and heel like this for soldier: ...configure it like how it looks here in diver for soldier mode. Balance issues maybe?: There's another pose where you can kinda see the inner part of the foot joint mechanism.
  15. I'd just cross my fingers and hope that all copies of that one were lost in the war. ... a few of those you might be able to get away with. 😅 There's a city named Broken Arrow in Oklahoma, for instance, and we know they name ships and classes after municipalities still (e.g. Northampton, Uraga, Brampton). You could probably get away with Hunter's Moon too... we've had Silver Moon and Red Moon. There've been a few warships named Chameleon already. A few named Legion too. Star Runner doesn't sound too out of place either. Kickboxer wouldn't even look that out-of-place... the US and British navies have had a BUNCH of ships named Boxer (and yes, the original ship was named for the sport). I'd be worried about a ship named the Hard Boiled. That seems like they'd cause a lot of unnecessary property damage. In the wise words of Radiohead... "You do it to yourself, you do. And that's what really hurts."
  16. Appreciate your indulgence. Seems I understood you just fine. I just figured there had to be more to your criticism. I'm not pulling out the pitchfork for ~15 degrees of delta.
  17. I got that black AFC-01X Alpha on preorder. I wish I had done the same for the blue Legioss Omega one.
  18. I had an opportunity to go to a free screening of Voltron but decided not to go.
  19. Toyrise foot (looks like standing on tippy toes or as if wear super-high stiletto heels): Sentinel foot: Toynami Alpha foot:
  20. I have a spare Target Hot Rod if you need one.
  21. I’m not seeing it. Got a picture of what “ideal” looks like? [Please delete if this is a duplicative post, but I’m not seeing the original post on my end.]
  22. I wish. Even though I’ll prolly need a small bank loan to afford it. 😂
