    Thanks for the info. I have used gouache before on paper. Never consider it on models. I’ll give it a try.

    Time for some necromancy. I've been recently gifted with a tall stack of 30mm kits; a friend is reducing his backlog and is in turn increasing mine. The 30mm line has been steadily growing for the past few years and some of the custom designs I've seen from the huge selection of available parts look outstanding. I opened up a couple of kits and started playing around with them: The head is from the Kotobukiya Modeling Goods line, and I still have to paint it. I had to do some mods to make it work though, Koto's heads attach differently than the stock 30mm heads. I totally dig this head, it looks like something from a 90's arcade game. I think I'm a 30mm fan now .

    That area is just rife with shops like that. For the past few Thanksgiving holidays, we've been visiting family over there and the Black Friday sales I run into always end up with me with a full loot bag - good times!

    I have not found the canards drooping yet (perhaps a matter of time?) but do find the chest wants to pop back out going into battroid for some reason. I see the female end inside the nose isn’t deep enough to accommodate the full length of the neck peg, maybe that is the cause? Because I fiddled with it one too many times ended up with a small paint rub on the tip of the canopy. 🤣 Also one of the rear landing gear flaps fall out rather easily, because one peg is nonexistent and almost flat..

    @Big s It's an artistic choice after all. Nothing is better per se. If you happen to like the expression the panel lines create, emphasize them with black. @Papa Rat I use gouache colors for the panel lines, they're odorless and can easily be corrected with a damp fingertip. I also tried Ammo washes, which flow nicely, but their light grey is actually brown. Nice choices for your next kits, though the Neptune and the Babylon are tough ones IMO. @Urashiman It's moving without movement 😄

    Personally I think that idea would’ve worked better towards the end of the sixties, but overall not as bonkers as most other King stuff like Maximum Overdrive or stories with all those floating space turtles and such

    I think the panel lining can really be up to interpretation. Personally I kinda like dark greys and browns rather than lighter colors, but I’m kinda looking at black a bit differently lately since the life size gundam and for smaller mecha, I’ve been looking out at cars in my work parking lot. Still haven’t tried going to pure black, but maybe it’s not as unrealistic as I once thought.

    I got the Lego "Time Machine" the other day and built it today - in fact, I built it twice as I got two of them knowing having to choose between one configuration or the other would bug me a lot! I'm not really a car person but I've been thinking of getting a "Back to the Future" DeLorean in some form for a while so this scratched a couple of itches at the same time. Its a nice build, just complicated enough to be interesting but not complicated enough to make you go "Oh, spirit of the Brick, why hast thou forsaken me?!" and not overly time consuming either, I think the two of them in total took me just under four hours. I've made a couple minor modifications - for the "Part II" version, I've made a quick "flying stand" using a couple of base plates and a girder/vertical support piece I had lying around. Although the vehicles underside base section isn't suitable for studs, if you have a long enough base plate you can fit it on the cross-bars at either end easily enough. Its not the most stable - as I type this I can see it wobbling out the corner of my eye but you could easily fix that with enough standard bricks or the like for example. The second, even smaller mod, was giving one of the Marty figures a classic Lego camera (the type you used to get with the Space sets) and putting a two-stud wide red piece on the side, to re-enact his JVC camcorder as it appeared in the first film.

    Great show, I just can't get past one thing: Otherwise, I was riveted and I like how the main themes from the novel were kept intact.
