  1. Past hour
  2. It was a tv miniseries that aired I believe around 9 pm to hopefully make sure kids went to sleep, but every kid I knew watched it and talked about it the next day at school. It was on ABC television networks, so pretty much every kid was watching it and getting nightmares and childhood trauma. good times. And nobody has trusted a clown since I guess that hatred for clowns started with Garfield, but that quickly turned to fear after that miniseries
  3. That Teela looks……….special….
  4. Yeah, I remember having Airtight as a kid. Was his main accessory a vacuum? It’s been a while. I can’t remember if it was to take samples or just sniff at things to identify them
  5. Hot damn! It's like you took the Arcadia PF version and stuck it in a micronization chamber.
  6. The backpack can be removed easily enough from the main body, but actually opening the backpack to replace the tailfins is another story. The backpack is glued together pretty good, so it's not going to be easy to open it without breaking or damaging it.

Bandai would never cut corners on plastic quality. *looks at all the yellowed Bandai valks next to the older but still white Yamato valks*
  8. Even without the strap, it looks really cool
  9. Today
  10. Finally. Airtight looks fantastic. Now all I need is a show accurate Lady Jaye and I can be done with the classified line.
  11. I find it rather unpalatable that they didn't include the requisite minifig with this. The chintzy old 80s robot build just doesn't equate. I'm curious if the head can accommodate a minifig should one buy the set and want to put one in there. Anyway, by now, with many AFOLs, many of them Classic Space fans, working as designers at LEGO, the knowledge that LEGO Space fans generally look forward to any opportunity to collect retro Space figs in their original or new colors is a given. This is a bit of a middle finger in my humble opinion. I'm glad they did the set, but that particular omission leaves a sour taste.
  12. Calling this one done for now. Oh Damn! Just realized, I forgot the rifle strap! 😲😵‍💫
  13. Had a thought about what we learned in this latest episode that might constitute a plot hole. ... they were using surface-based matter-antimatter reactors as power plants. Starfleet's Academy-class ships like the USS Athena are partly used as surface installations and given what we see in "Vox in Excelso" they're capable of saucer separation and both the saucer and secondary hull have their own separate warp drives. The saucer and secondary hull both land to form the surface complex used for an academy campus, meaning there's two warp cores in close proximity on the surface anytime one of these ships is landed. Are the Academy-class new? Or did potentially hundreds of these ships explode on the surfaces of Federation planets during the Burn when the dilithium moderating their warp cores failed? Yeah, no matter how much I muse on it I can't seem to come up with a sane/cogent reason why the USS Athena's bridge would need to be as big as, or bigger than, DS9's Operations Center.
  14. Noted for the recommendations. I also watched the IT (1990) made for television movie on HBO Max for the first time, I think I missed out on it when my mom stopped paying for cable around that time... I recall friends saying how scary it was and its interesting to see the big TV actors of the day but it hasn't aged well at all. Very cheesy, lol. But I think that could be said of most television movies back then too.

I heard the same thing. I'm wondering if they actually upgraded the plastic quality.
  16. Love the skin tone on that Nadia and the colour variation on Deedlit's hair Greg! Got the oil weathering passes done on the Battroid, ( it's very light and doesn't show up to well in this photo. I'll have try some close ups when it's all done) Just a hint of chipping and the clear parts left to do. Also did an oil wash on the figure. Might do a bit more on him- not sure.

The only complaint I ever heard from the first release was how translucent the wings were, somebody mentioned it could be because bandai used a lower quality plastic than usual. I have the first release and a Shin 0A and don't really see any difference design wise

So is there a comparison shot of this new Roy 0S vs. the original one? Does it look like any other changes were made or is it the same?

  20. Absolutely.they should’ve. Will they? Maybe a good few years later when they decide to reissue it, we might get it, at least just the updated base that allows the easy removal of fins, and we’ve got to BYO “normal” sized fins.
  21. @Chas That battroid with Max is very cool! @wm cheng Great looking Zero! Getting a metallic and chrome finish is tough (or so I've heard) and it certainly looks bright, shiny and chrome! @electric indigo Nice paint and finish on the plane. @SteveTheFish has two good looking ladies on his bench! Been a long while since I watched Nadia and I've actually never seen Record of Lodoss War. Might need to give that a watch.
  22. The stuff looks just the same here. It’s also supposed to be just as tough as any lacquer application. And I guess not super expensive since you can thin the paint down quite a bit
  23. I'm surprised they don't have an inter-bridge intercom system just to talk to one another...
  24. Supposedly theres a "rocket" hidden inside the Spacemans helmet (as per the description on the US Lego store) but I haven't seen any evidence of that in the released photos so far.
