  2. I do love the tweaks Sentinel did to the design: compacted the fighter mode, redesigned the transformation process to shorten the nosecone on the armo-soldier mode. Part of me wishes there was an option to angle the wings parallel to the ground, instead of having that downward cant. But there’s enough there that it doesn’t look out of place with the original Legioss design.
  3. When you consider every single Legioss toy (excluding kits) ever made since the 1980's, just for once I would like to see a company, no matter who... just take the original 1980's Anime design and make that. By that I mean, no more, revamped or re-imagined designs. Take the lessons from Sentinel and make the originals, they clearly proved it's possible in 1/48 scale to make very detail, high quality and solid fitting toy with accurate, impressive landing gear. Gakken: Big, bulky, hefty and for its day, a true legend. (No leg or arm locking mechanism's.) CM's: Oof-magoof! (No leg or arm locking mechanism's plus other issues.) Toynami: Looks pretty good but a QC nightmare all around, terrible landing gear. (Then & now) Evolution Toy: The irony of the word "Evolution" in your company name. (Poor quality overall and the worst hands ever designed.) Sentinel: Overall, very high quality, sturdy, rock solid, fighter mode looks amazing, however it is a re-imagined design, not OG. (Unpainted pilot figures are the only real negative IMO.) BANDAI or ARCADIA: The ball is in your court, seriously, just imagine an ARCADIA or Bandai made Legioss.
  4. I know, I know - hyperspace travel in "Star Wars" works however the writers need it to. But that system map has everything much "closer" together than it feels like it should. Its one of those cases where whats depicted in-universe is at odds with my head canon. 😄
  5. The $134.99 price at Crunchyroll was only part of a one-week sale; the set has returned to the usual $189.99. Still, it may be worth keeping an eye on the Crunchyroll site, through the remainder of May. Currently running is their Ani-May promotion. Occasionally with these types of month-long promotions, discounted products from earlier in the month will get a second relisting, during the sale's final week.

  7. Hmm. I wonder if I should make this into a 1/55 conversion kit. 🫠
  8. Sexy GERWALK pic incoming. Divert your eyes.
  9. Those look almost exactly the same. I wouldn’t be surprised if they used the used one to sculpt the other.
  10. I think some of us are forgetting the macross crossover figure was also Macross 7 25th Anniversary figure as well as the transformers 40th anniversary. Is Basara the face of Macross, I would say No, But is Basara the face of Macross 7? It is either him or Mylene depending on your preference, and as others have said Basara is pretty popular in japan. (Now that I think about it, how many toys have been made of the Fire Valkyrie? there have been many toys and transforming model kits, lots of versions. How many transforming versions of Mylene's Vf-11 custom are there? To my knowledge ZERO.) I can see the logic of the choices behind Basara Prime, but I am still not convinced of the execution of the concept. I have not seen clear enough pictures of his various modes to see if there is anything I like in there. I suspect the bottom of the jet mode will be much worse looking than I would like, and I still have not seen enough of his robot mode to understand what it is going on.
  11. As much as I would love that, Tony Gilroy has indicated he's not really interested in a long-term commitment to franchise filmmaking and there is no way Disney is brazen enough to do a partial reboot on Star Wars so soon after rebooting it the first time in order to get rid of the unremarkable and unsatisfying but financially successful sequel trilogy. It sucked before... we're just going to be more aware of how much it sucks now that Star Wars has, by luck or good judgement, produced a series that doesn't. Going back to shows that read like Dave Filoni playing with his Clone Wars and Rebels action figures is going to feel like one giant leap backwards creatively, but it's far too late for them to recalibrate their creative process for Ahsoka season two or Maul: Shadow Lord, both of which are Clone Wars/Rebels spinoffs.
  12. Looks like KC trolled us on the paint apps for this figure...unless these pics are the trolling pics...lol No idea how we'll be able to receive these figs in the US w/o getting the extra tax added to them upon delivery....
  13. Yeah I guess the pilot-in-cockpit video KC released not too long ago wasn’t the final painted version.

    Macross CMS Figures

That’s quite a nice collection when everything is laid out & displayed. I don’t have access to mine at moment, but I now recall there’s an inconsistency between my Sitting Minmays. The one from the Minmay Collection special set (which you have on the second row from front), has the desk leg a bit too long. As a result, Minmay is sort of straddling on both rear chair legs with the fronts off the ground. I can’t see if yours have that issue too since it happened to be blocked in the pic. The other watercolor sitting Minmay I have is fine though - exactly like yours, all 4 chair legs touching the ground with the desk leg being slightly angled forward.
  15. The metallic bubblegum is a weird choice for colors
  16. Star War is going to suck now. Andor, Acolyte & Skeleton Crew were all departures from the usual formula. Making each of them was a risk and results varied. As bad a the Acoytle was at least they tried to do something new. You don't get shows like Andor by playing it safe. The Filoni-verse is bland, functions like the cartoons it was based on, loaded with fan service and is creativity bankrupt. You might find a good scene here and there. They might introduce a really good idea but don't have the balls do anything meaningful with it. But this is the path they are going with for now because it is the safest.
  17. Posted by Leung Ming on FB. The skull face is a surprise inclusion.
  18. Add up that product is not available for over seas buyers not even via some retailers like nin nin (that I have been using lately). Only a few show have appeared at mandarake and not for a step price like other releases. People getting to re-sale to get some extra money seem to be just walking by it.
  19. There they are. The equivalent of clown shows, but hands.
  20. New Jason design https://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3868657/friday-the-13th-owners-reveal-new-jason-voorhees-designed-by-special-effects-legend-greg-nicotero/
  21. Yeah, I think quite a bit of them look bad with the clear hair, while others look good or fine. Bad: Hikaru, Ishtar, Misa Good: Minmay, Milene, Moa, Sara, Roy, Basara The ones that look bad look bad because they either have hair on the side that is painted and therefore doesn't match the rest of the hair (Misa, Ishtar) or it just looks too translucent on its own (Hikaru). At this point, I've managed to get them all except for series 1 chase and the two WonderFes exclusives. I'm still not sure there is a clear hair DYRL first concert Minmay (I haven't seen any photos of it). I originally got some from series 1 and 2 about 20 years ago but had to go back and rebuy an Ishtar (her pinky finger broke off) and get some of the more expensive figures from each series (like both Max figures and solid hair Hikaru).
  22. Well when you regurgitate the third version of the same model, with only slight differences you can expect customers not too bite! Like I said previously had this been a VF-1A Cannon Fodder we wouldn't have this conversation since it would have flown of the shelf even if it was one of the most generic Valkerie's! Never understood why they used this particular unit to celebrate Macross since 1982... Just hope the lack of sales for this particular unit, is not holding up Bandai for continuing to make further versions!
