  1. Past hour
  2. BATTLESTAR PROMETHEUS reporting in, once the guns/cannons arrive, she'll be complete.
  3. It was no surprise that the design would get the green light for an animated series. After all, everyone knows that both Dana and Glitch have a certain rivalry with Disney, and even if the pilot hadn't been as successful as expected, it would have been made anyway.
  4. Last update before the weekend (and maybe for a little bit since I'm traveling for work the next two weeks, but we'll see, airports can be good places to work). Enlarged the wheels and added the higher articulator for the rear wheel, refined the textures a bit and started adding grunge, and beginning to add all the pretty little greebles (handholds and such). Yes, still avoiding the arms, but I'm getting there. πŸ˜‰ Good weekend, all!
  5. Today
  6. Astrotrain just does not look like a leader-quality toy, certainly not one worth $60. I'm guessing that's the proper config for his chesticles after some debate on TFW. That bot mode looks unfinished and the shuttle mode is burdened by a great deal of unsightly kibble along its flanks as well as some odd cowcatcher-like protrusion under the nose. The train mode is the only improvement, and while it still doesn't look even as good or believable as the G1 toy's, it's the best thing this toy has going for it. I was anticipating this figure the most out of all the new SS86 announcements, and I'm pretty disappointed. Shockwave was my other anticipatory figure, and he's basically the Siege toy minus all the surface detail. I prefer said detail so it looks like I'll be skipping this fig, too. I already have versions of Wheeljack, Sunstreaker, and Snarl that I like, so it looks like Skywarp is the only fig from this wave I'll be picking up. So bummed about Astrotrain, though. ☹️
  7. It did have 1 memorable episode worthy of consideration as a true classic: The Return of Starbuck.
  8. I love this era of supercars and somehow Ford has never really continued making more of these bespoke high performance rides. The more modern GT doesn't really recapture the magic.
  9. Frieren was so funny today. Too bad there is only ten episodes.
  10. Yeah, I was more interested in the ship itself than the figures, but would also be annoying to not have a figure to put in it. Went ahead and pre-ordered both, I've got a year to plan for where to put it.
  11. Very much appreciated. It's rare that we folks on this side of the pond get to see displays at these huge WF conventions in real time and with an English-speaking narrator, no less. Enjoyed the walkthrough. What's with all the R-type stuff? Anniversary or just riding a popularity high? Modest Macross showing. I really wish Arcadia had a booth with some new valk designs and their VF-3000 ready to go with a near release date. Perchance to dream, alas.
  12. The shape of the wings is giving me a Klingon Bird of Prey (STTNG) vibe.
  13. Regarding the Glaugs, I kinda figured. Probably Experten's work. Funny they only showed the Alpha in Soldier mode. Tough to get a good idea what fighter will look like when the wings are generally obscured by the arms. The hosts' awkward handling of the toys didn't help. Honestly, initially I thought it was going to be a low-vis version, and that piqued my curiosity. I'm not really feeling the huge shoulder cannons, though. If I end up going in on one of these, it'll most likely be the Omega, as I like it the best of the three. I do like like the color scheme of the AWACS one, though. It's a bit goofy with those huge canards and the huge lance, but its uniqueness is its charm.
  14. Nobody counts that one. Sorta like how most people try to forget Star Wars sequels or Alien 3
  15. Some goodies there. I'll add Dishonored to the list. In light of how well Fallout has been done, I'd love to see either a Deus Ex or Halflife series with the same rigorous attention to detail. I think Starcraft would end up being a Starship Troopers clone, but a Command and Conquer:Tiberian Sun series could be cheesy good fun.
  16. Agreed, Orange's take on the series does seem a little darker then the OG anime. When you mentioned bailing on Stampede I figured you didn't finish it so just wanted to give a heads up on Stargaze.
  17. That is glorious, dude. 😍 I'm not going to disparage anyone's opinions, but there are a couple misconceptions that need to be addressed: While it's possible you found Katee Sackoff or Grace Park attractive, there's nothing sexy about Kara "Starbuck" Thrace or Sharon "Boomer" Valerii, either as written on the page, portrayed by the actors, or photographed by the production. In fact, series showrunner Ronald D. Moore deliberately avoided objectifying either woman (nor any human characters on the show), wanting to emphasize stark realism and gritty drama. The only character overtly sexualized is Number Six, a Cylon. The original series, on the other hand, is full of sex appeal, with Maren Jensen (Athena), Laurette Spang (Cassiopeia), Anne Lockhart (Sheba), and Jane Seymour (Serina) often appearing in flowing off-the-shoulder gowns with plunging necklines. The 1978 original was definitely sexier. πŸ˜‹ Heck, even the guys showed more skin! πŸ˜† In the 21st century? That was never gonna happen. πŸ˜… You're right about that. By trying to be more realistic, NuBSG featured much more understated costume and production design, and Bear McCreary's music has none of the soaring, operatic grandeur of the classic score. "Adventurous" and "goofy" are the complete antithesis of the Galactica concept, even as originally conceived by Glen A. Larson. The miniseries was outlined as a desperate war for survival, and only became an "adventure of the week" after ABC suddenly expanded it into a full season of television. Executive meddling resulted in a tonally-inconsistent, goofy mess that was even worse after the network retooled the series and slashed the budget for its second season: Will any of you try to defend Galactica 1980? 😝
  18. I feel like it was a missed opportunity not having him do a Cock a Doodle Doo when he was on the edge of the cliff. If you’re gonna give us a joke of a character, then you gotta use that joke to it’s fullest
  19. I think I saw them in an auction as resin kits. Digging that alpha version of the Alpha :). The wings look super strange though so fighter mode might be goofy.
  20. I didn’t hate the remake, but it did make me rewatch and really enjoy the original much more. The old one had very minimalistic things going on, but it really was great fun and much more enjoyable overall
  21. $219 without a figure seems really high for the cost. It’s not like it transforms and has articulated legs and arms the $149 for the five figures is a bit more reasonable though since it is the full set
