  2. Thank You! Is a CAD rendering, next will be Battroid Rendering, Type 2 Fast pack rendering and Type.
  3. Progress so far going very slow.. Planning for next year wonderfest. Building a 1/24 Scale Type 2 booth display for visitors to experience transformation and slowly doing the injection CAD works.
  4. "The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail" Jeez, the lens flares in this are bad. There's one shot where you can barely see the captain because a (pulsing) spotlight behind her is shining directly at the camera. Remember the Pakled clumpships from the Star Trek: Lower Decks season one finale? Writers David Reed and Bill Wolkoff sure hope you don't.
  5. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, but Bumblebee's pack-in pal is Megatron. Megatron, like Optimus, doesn't actually appear in the Hearts of Steel comic book, just as concept art. As with the other three figures, I think Hasbro did a pretty good job here on what's essentially a Deluxe-class figure. He's got a bit less paint than Bee, but arguably because he needs less of it; everything's the color it's supposed to be, with silver paint on all those spikes and some cool molded gears in his hips. He's just missing a touch of red on his elbows and gold spikes in the center of his shoulder wheels. The molded gears are on the back sides of his hips, too. There's plenty of other rivets and molded details. All-in-all it's a pretty good design... I love a good black Megatron, and from interviews with Evan it sounds like we could be seeing more versions of these four characters in the future. I, for one, would love for Hasbro to revisit the stealth bomber design from IDW, but I'd really prefer them to be Voyager or Leader class in the future. But I digress. Megatron's sole accessory is this cannon. Megatron's head is on a ball joint with some upward tilt and above average sideways and downward tilt. His shoulders rotate, and though the big wheels on his shoulders have hinges and do their best to get out of the way they do stop him from reaching a full 90 degrees laterally. His biceps swivel, and his double-jointed elbows bend 180 degrees. No wrist swivels, but his waist does swivel. Hips can go about 90 degrees backward, and past 90 degrees forward or laterally. His thighs swivel, and his knees bend a little short of 180 degrees. No upward tilt on his feet, but they can tilt downward. He does have ankle pivots, but they're limited to under 45 degrees. Megatron's cannon plugs into the port on his right arm. The port itself is on a flap, not his actual arm, and can fold outward a bit for some poses. Of the four Hearts of Steel figures, Megatron has about the simplest transformation. Open his back, tuck his head in, and close it up. Bend his wrists outward, then open the gray bits on his arms and tuck his hands inside. Fold out these pointy bits from inside his forearms, then spin them 180 degrees and bend his elbows so his forearms line up with the backs of his shoulders. If it's lined up right, the gray bits from his forearms will tab into slots on the dark part of his back, and the flap with the cannon (which does not need to be removed for transformation) will tab into the middle of the gray part. Then just spin his waist 180 degrees, fold down his feet, and bend his knees. Tabs near his ankles will lock the legs into his butt, and you're done. Simple, yes, but fairly accurate to Guido Guidi's sketches. The little pointy bits you had to flip out of his forearms are an especially nice touch because they do represent details that were present in Guidi's artwork, but I'd bet that if Hasbro had simply omitted them that a lot of people wouldn't have even noticed. My only real gripe, something that perhaps could have been addressed on a little larger, little more expensive figure are the very visible robot thighs on the back. I can't say it's not accurate, since Guidi's sketches don't show that angle, but I get the impression that they should be covered somehow. Not much else to say, really. Like I said, the cannon doesn't have to come off for transformation. Since it's a solid piece, the barrel doesn't telescope (despite Guidi's notes indicating that it should be longer in cannon mode than in robot mode), nor can it adjust its elevation. The big shoulder wheels do roll, though, as do a pair of smaller wheels in his knees. I like this Megatron. I think he's a good fit with their Prime and Starscream, I like the darker colors on him, and the alt mode is both unique and fitting. I think my only real complaint is that I wish he were bigger. Bee and Megatron together are a set worth picking up, especially if you got the previous set. That said, if they do two-packs in the future I'd prefer they put Optimus and Megatron together

  7. Wish you all the best on sanding the decals. Sounds nerve racking. Home stretch… cant wait to see it!😊
  8. I was going to skip out on the Tread but I snagged an open one from Mandarake for Y35000. At that price I couldn't say no.
  9. I bought one of these because I was very curious and just got it in a few days ago: Pros: -very solid, high-quality feel to the materials (mostly). -great poseability in Battroid mode -some interesting design choices that make the figure feel dynamic Cons: -Barely anything tabs together in Gerwalk or fighter mode, and what does uses very shallow, tiny tabs that will likely break after time -Impossible to get it aligned in fighter mode, even after finagling and massaging it for nearly an hour -Fake chest inserts for Battroid, and also a fake upper/shoulder insert. I hate parts-forming, so this was annoying. Head just floats, doesn't peg to anything without the insert -Floating waist, die cast hips don't connect to the nose cone -Broke off one of the antennae when trying to adjust the legs in fighter mode, the head doesn't really feel like it sits anywhere properly in any mode -Standard fist that can fold into the arm doesn't have a hole for the rifle, so parts-swapping is necessary when not in fighter-mode Honestly if this thing was $100 less, i'd be ok with it, but as it stands it isn't quite as solid and "toyetic" as I was hoping for.
  10. Snow CAT fully funded. I'll still pass. Also cancelled my order of the Cold Slither set.
  11. It was the YF-22, not the F-22... from 1990 to 1997, when the production F-22 was unveiled and officially named "Raptor".
  12. Yeah, her character's flippant and often silly behavior is a poor fit for the series. It's pretty obvious she was originally conceived as a Guinan-like "wise advisor" character who could dispense the wisdom from her millennia of life to help crewmembers with whatever problem they faced, but she's basically been demoted to comic relief in a series that doesn't really need it. Less a Guinan and more a Neelix. Hopefully come season four she'll end up replaced by Scotty, which is clearly the trajectory they're heading. The writers using her as their vehicle for their latest attempt to brand a new alien threat as "pure evil" is pretty silly too. Star Trek has always favored the idea that hostile aliens are not evil, just operating on different morality or different priorities, but Strange New Worlds tried to make the Gorn into "pure evil" in its first two seasons before walking it back and now we have this race of not-demons doing Exorcist things who are "pure evil" according to Pelia.
  13. Cullen Yutani had previously appeared in both Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem and The Predator.
  14. If you look in the credits, it's her actual name. Sandra Yi Sencindiver is playing a character named "Yutani" (no first name given?) who is the current CEO of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation in 2120.
  15. 😃 God bless the design/manufacturing teams. This’ll make my job a bit easier.
  16. according to the comic books of late, it seems there are several Yutani family members in the business. One in particular is rather young in his Teen years and uses a Synth body as his double to go on away missions to colonies and various projects he's interested in getting involved with while the real Yutani is on earth monitoring what goes on. Infact I believe becomes familiar with the Xenomorphs himself and even tries to get them from some ice world and fails pretty badly resulting in his Synth being destroyed.
  17. I have just gotten mine the other day, not happy with it. The matte finish looks and feels cheap, that’s a first. The double up screws on the shoulder is okay but the hip out of the box is loose & needs to be tightened. The revival attempt didn’t translate as well as the previous 25’s revivals, it feels particularly like an old toy, corners not sharp enough, an old design brought back. - and that’s exactly it I am afraid. Does the knee joint not rotate 360 freely on the vf-27? When I rotate it for Gerwalk stance, the joints fight back and it feels like going to break off if I keep at it..Does the vf-27 not have waist rotation? hate to be naysaying but it feels like a waste of money. Damn you Bandai.😅

  19. @tekering Awesome looking Black Hole 🕳️ ship! I'm forever jealous of that Borg cube of yours! Over here the TOS Enterprise is in the final stages... As terrifying as it sounds, I'm going to attempt sanding down the decals on this one in order to get that finish looking silky smooooth... Fingers crossed 🤞! couple of good solid coats of TS - 13 Clear down 1st! If I'm not careful this thing might actually end up looking half way decent!
  20. I believe you are correct.
  21. Thank you @borgified. Went another route. Hope to get 'it' in a week or so.
  22. I thought it was before the merger since they only talked about the lady as in the lady from Yutani. I guess they were just shortening the name. Either that or it is her actual name and I kinda missed that bit trying to rush the episode last night.
  23. That's a work-in-progress. It still needs a lot of surface detail applied... ...and I need to replace the batteries, too. 😑
  24. Cool, but the Koto kit still gets work done, and yeah, that's going to probably be absurdly expensive.
