  2. Saw this video of the Moderoid booth and noticed this for a split second and couldn't believe my eyes... Chouriki Robo Galatt wasn't very popular/well-known (designed by Kunio Okawara). The main mech Janbu only got one transforming kit which was limited to 80's tech partsforming ... a modern take on this is so welcomed.
  3. Today
  4. Thanks. So in other words, Collector's Edition is not going to have the 'premium remaster treatment', correct?
  5. Looks to me like a different company has licensed this for release since Anime.ltd is a UK company that normally does anime releases for the european market. I'm guessing this is a euro release that happens to be doing an NA release because Robert didn't get exclusive release rights for the Animeigo release that started this thread. So I think they're completely different products. This one is probably just the existing Japanese release where they created english subs (and possibly a dub) for it on their own. Edit, I'm getting this confused with the Macross 2 kickstarter and the new zero release. My bad @no3Ljm.
  6. I wonder what's the difference between this and the just announced 'Collector's Edition'? Premium is not enough? Packaging perhaps?
  7. For G.I.Joe Fans. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/skyboundent/gi-joe-a-real-american-hero-compendium-set/

  9. I designed the Model via LDD. All parts are ordered via Bricklink. I made the Instructions via "Studio". This should be a Macross "armoured Variable Fighter". But this would not exist in the Macross universe. Because in the Macross universe this battle armor can only be attached to the Mech while in Batroid mode. This was an attempt to model the armor for Gearwalk, Fighter and Batroid as well. So this thing is called: “Armored Variable Fighter”. You can transform this Mech into all 3 modes: Gearwalk, Batroid, Fighter. All joints are movable. The rocket shafts and the cockpit can be opened. The stand is made of steel. This prevents the Gearwalk and Batroid from falling over - and in Fighter mode the Fighter floats.
  10. Nothing new on the Genesis Breaker side since August of last year on HJweb. Also, I'd like to point it out that the 'Genesis' link page from way back that wasn't accessible before is now 404. https://tatsunoko.co.jp/genesis
  11. From HJ July 2024.... Images from included furoku....Macross Valkyrie Picture Book...
  12. This is a nice Macross Plus Ultimate Edition Blu-ray set coming to North America, Europe, and UK. But I don't collect Blu-ray/DVDs anymore, so yeah.

    Hi-Metal R

Having the VF-0 pair together with the boosters does look good, even if Roy's 0S is wearing the 0A's booster attachment parts.
  14. I'm starting to question if the people writing HIGHSPEED Etoile have a humiliation fetish. How many episodes of a one cour series can you reasonably devote to a protagonist failing miserably at literally everything in a public setting? Something like 1/3 of the latest episode is devoted to Rin trying and failing to drive a conventional gas-engine car with a manual transmission and her friends being impressed that she gets less sh*tty at it with practice.
  15. They did? We've only seen the one AFAIK. Mind you, "temple" can be used in a non-religious context and the Jedi don't seem to engage in anything resembling religious practices as far as we've seen in the movies and the TV shows. Buddhism is often argued to be more a school of philosophical thought than a religion, but their congregation places are often referred to as "temples" in English. Eh... IMO, it was inevitable Star Wars would have to introduce some kind of foolproof and objective test to identify latent Force users. It made the most sense to introduce it in the prequel trilogy, when the Jedi Order was at the peak of its power. Even with ten thousand Jedi, there just aren't enough of them to go touring Republic space (never mind the whole galaxy) looking for Force sensitive kids manually. It's a pragmatic necessity given the sheer scale of the setting. Plus it was kind of necessary for The Phantom Menace's story to work at all. Qui-Gon Jinn needed hard evidence that Anakin was The Chosen One™️, and a big showy demonstration of Force power would have required teaching him before he was allowed to join the Order and broken the flow of the story up to that point. (Plus it would also raise the awkward question of what the Jedi do with the kids who they train enough to test and then DON'T let join the Order... unfortunate implications abound.) That's one of the reasons his redemption doesn't really track with his character development. All he had to do was let Palpatine and Rey fight and kill the exhausted victor, and he would claim all the spoils... how much of his redemption was him and how much was him being influenced through the Force by Leia? He definitely didn't seem put off by Palpatine's plan until very late in the game and he had zero reason to care about Rey beyond his attempts to turn her to the dark side. What even are the qualifications for being a Sith? Does his apprenticeship under Snoke count? What even was Snoke? Is Kylo Ren some kinda Sith intern? Maybe The Acolyte'll clear the Sith career path up a bit. As much as I'd like to go for the low-hanging fruit and say that a Ren is the partner of a Stimpy... well... a wren is a bird, but I find Adam Driver looks far more like a whippet than a bird. (Considering his heel-face turn at the last second, does that make Ben Solo "Whippet Good"?)
  16. That is a whole lot of Macross goodness right there! Twich
