  1. Past hour
  2. Last I heard (in February), Round2 was going to reissue all of the kits from the movie, including the missing section for the Cygnus itself. CultMan has pre-Pre-Order pages up (that so far still say Not Available...) I take it with all of its flaws and just enjoy! In fact, as I was watching, I was thinking to myself how well the character interactions were...
  3. Is Robotoybase still active? I tried to reactivate my old Chimungmung (?!?!) account and tried to create a new one but nothing worked.
  4. It’s almost an RBF. Or maybe just smug as in, “my [censored: decency] don’t stink.” I’ve honestly never looked all that closely at their faces before now.
  5. Thanks, it’s an outstanding model from everything I’ve seen. I may build it as a cannon fodder squad leader as part of an eventual Macross City battle scene diorama. Papa Rat, your model looks perfect! Looks like the VF-1D battroid reissue just arrived. HLJ charged me this morning for the one that I ordered a few months ago.
  6. Today
  7. Now Rouge is scheduled for September. While I gladly buy more 90s Mafex X-Men I just want to finish my X-Men collection with Rogue. I wonder what is taking them so long?
  8. I think if anything, Yellow is the one most in need of a new face scupt.
  9. No argument there. I imagine the design team were aghast with every decision the factory engineers in China made. Oh, I'd forgotten I'd even done that. 😅 And I keep telling you guys, it's "Brough," not "Blow." The Brough Superior is well-known to motorcycle enthusiasts the world over, including Shinji Aramaki. That's why his VR-041 is called the "Brough Superior" in Mospeada. The marketing team at Tatsunoko didn't know "Fuke" from "Houquet," "Lei" from "Ray," or "Brough" from "blow," and more importantly, they DIDN'T CARE. Imai, Arii, LS et.al used the English alphabet simply because Japanese pop culture thinks it's cool. None of these companies had any concern for the Western market, because it simply didn't exist back then. Four decades on, we know better. There's no excuse for Sentinel to still be using "Blowsperior." 🙄 Apologies for the pendantic rant; I'm an English teacher in Japan. 😣
  10. Jennifer Ortega as Miss Adams.
  11. IIRC it also misses a complete midship section, so you have to buy two kits to fix this.
  12. Maybe I can be of further assistance. Drop me a DM and we can discuss options. The Black Hole? What a glorious disaster that film was. 😅 Incredible miniature photography, awe-inspiring production design, a deeply haunting score, and some jaw-dropping visual effects... 😯 ...along with some miserably poor dialogue, a cartoonish disregard for science, and some truly awful compositing. 🙄 Be careful what you wish for... MPC's kit was over-simplified, proportionally-inaccurate, and entirely molded in solid grey. Just try lighting that one, bitches! 😂
  13. I totally forgot Evolution Toys ever made the Legioss lol. It's just so out of mind that I almost swore there isn't any until @tekering's pics above.
  14. Wow! Thanks for the info. Going to order one asap. Hope I didn’t miss the boat.
  15. Apart from the decals, A, J, S heads, & including both DYRL & SDFM pilots & instrument panels, it’s a stock fighter kit.
  16. I think this is the topic of a postwar drama, Cyan Men Can't Jump.
  17. Probably just leftover parts from the standard VF-1 since those plates on the side of the leg were white. Just a way to add extra color separation, but causing some extra parts
  18. What’s the main idea behind this kit? Is it a “general” VF-1 valk geared towards painting it in any scheme you want? Is there anything unique about it that sets it apart?
  19. Deculture Package arrived. Nice.
  20. Love the Cygnus. I'd own a model if a mass produced one was made.
  21. Awesome! What are we looking at with the 2 colored sprues for the nosecone? Do we get 2 sprues? Cause the model shown has the white nose and orange outer legs.
  22. So... "What is Starfleet?" Huh, so the specs of the Constitution-class appear to have been definitively revised. They've decided to go official with the idea that the Enterprise was the Federation flagship even in Pike's time. Previously the first Enterprise to be actually established as the flagship was the Enterprise-D. They've also radically enlarged her. She's 442.6m long now instead of 289m. Pike's Enterprise is about the same size as an Excelsior-class ship now. We get to see Lt. Ortegas's quarters. Seems she's a bit of a gearhead. There's what looks like a small model turbine engine on her desk, a partially disassembled motorbike behind her, and her room is dominated by what looks to be a totally unmodified Husky heavy duty brand 52" wheeled toolchest from Home Depot. I am about 13 minutes into "What is Starfleet?" and this may be the first episode of Strange New Worlds to lose me. This episode's framing device is just plain unpleasant. You'd think a Federation news reporter would be above this kind of painful-to-look-at yellow journalism. Especially about his own sister's ship and career! Ending the episode's A-plot on a threat feels kind of off-message... There's a deep deep cut at 37:11. We see Number One tucking into a tray of those memetically infamous cubes of what look like play-doh from the ambassadorial reception in TOS "Journey to Babel". Definitely the weakest episode of the season so far... and a strong contender to unseat "The Serene Squall" as the worst episode of the series to date IMO.
