    Hi-Metal R

That's total, or without the additional tariffs, etc?
  3. Never knew there was a "City Hunter" game. Looks a little like "Rolling Thunder 2", one of my favourite games on the Mega Drive (Genesis to probably most of you).
  4. I didn’t bother with the new Superman in the theater, but we were pretty let down by the Snyder one and after finally seeing the new one, I don’t think it would have been money well spent either. Totally loved Event Horizon in the theater, even though it doesn’t hold up quite as well these days and Tank Girl was fun for the time, but really cheaped on the ending but was kinda another that totally doesn’t hold up.

  6. I think Kawamori has very limited ability to do anything and his involvement is largely collecting a fee to say he is involved.
  7. Hate to admit this, but it looks like something you'd see on stage at PartyHardcore or Dancing Bear. IYKYK.

  9. Aside from the things that are "anime magic", yes I completely agree with how Bandai is probably throwing in their own take ("knowing better") and it's sucks that they're doing that. In the end I'm sure it (the DXC YF-21) like many other Macross stuff has go through the final approval of Kawamori (and maybe his team: Tenjin, etc.) for final say, right? It's not like Kawamori comes into Bandai's office only to look at it during the prototypes for a once over and gives a yes/no and that's it. It would be believable Bandai gives Kawamori his own milestone prototype version(s) to take back to his home/office to further study/play with (to do his own homework on) and is in full communication directly with Bandai's team before it goes to the production line. Do we even know if (maybe) it's Kawamori making/suggesting these ("better known") changes to Bandai's team for the macross line? And that's not to say (maybe) Kawamori is aware but just overlooks and passes off these changes? 🤷‍♂️🙄 If so, then that would be sad... I'm interested in looking at the early grey prototype that you're referencing. Do you have a link or picture? As I've said in the previous post I couldn't find it, but recall seeing something of the DXC YF-21 tease year(s) prior to Bandai's TN2019 reveal. Yes the markings on the DXC YF-21 are better than the 19's markings by far. Yea Bandai really f'd up the tampo on the Macross logo for the DXC YF-21's wing and with previous tampo issues (DXC VF-1's 001/100). The Macross logo was correct on the YF-21's prototype displayed at TN2019. We already know Bandai won't own up to it just like the YF-21's antenna issue (how they stated damage was due to the shipping/handling process).
  10. I've ordered that twice through sellers who never shipped. Might have to finally order it from one of the more expensive ones.
  11. Depa Laboratory - lots of laughs! https://live.nicovideo.jp/watch/lv348462410 May'n Symphonic concert Oct 12t - clear folder!

    DX Chogokin VF-17S

This is quite a surprise. I'm glad Bandai is rolling forward with more M7. But this version, once again, makes me miss Yamato. Easy pass.
  13. Isn't the 171 explicitly an almost ground-up redesign that only superficially resembles the 17 and is canonically smaller and slimmer? Like the real world Hornet to Super Hornet but in reverse.
  14. I don't have a family so it would be just me, but for a good movie I'll still plop down in the semi-uncomfortable chairs with the overpriced (yet happily oversized) 'small' soda and popcorn! I'm not too critical on most movies I see and, so far, the only movies I've regretted seeing in the theater were Tank Girl, Event Horizon and Superman '25. And since I've really liked most of the Mandalorian, unless they really F it up, I'll probably enjoy this too, just on the massive screen!😁

    1/55's revisited

Talking a closer look at this again: Strike Valkyrie? Unrelated, your flooring looks like mine: narrow oak from the 60s. Crazy-good quality, but are they ever creaky after 60 years of foot traffic. One day I’ll brave the crawlspace no-see-ums and fasten them more securely.
  16. Regarding MPG Soundwave, I'm surprised that they're only repainting MP-13. While I still consider it a good take and a good figure, it's a bit dated and a new figure is in order. That said, I continue to use my MP-13 in my display and I bought FT's Soundblaster repaint, mostly for their Ratbat, but the figure itself surprised me with just how excellent it is. I daresay it's the best Soundwave, color and name changes notwithsatanding, in my collection. Perhaps Takara just didn't feel like competing with it and leaned on the nostalgia instead, what with MP-13's heavy G1 toy styling. I love Evangelion, but much like their VF-19 take, way too much is sacrificed to create an unholy amalgamation with Prime such that I'd just rather have non-crossover versions of the VF-19 or Eva Unit 01. I'm sure there's an audience for these crossovers, but I'm not part of it.
  17. Hahaha. How dare you insult my baby like that. I will do my best to properly represent this creep the best I can. 😜
  18. The 19P and kai have different shoulders from the19F and S though, so shouldn't it make more sense to just scratch build the shoulders entirely? Is there a reason to have this planned before it becomes obvious that bandai definitely won't do the 19F or S? Because the way things are going, it looks like highly plausible that they will come around to making those.
  19. The thing is, I don't think these toys have much of a skeleton to speak of. A lot of mechanism and structure is already molded into the underside of the outer shells. They do have some separate pieces of internal braces, tracks, ratchets etc, but even those must be tabbed in or glued to the outer shell, so they mostly have to be new parts to conform to the new shell. And those really only make up a minor fraction of the total parts, compared to the externally visible parts, including exposed undersides, insides, and extensions etc. Even identical looking parts to the old ones need to be new parts accomodate the changes caused by the other new parts. Otherwise, the parts are just hollow appendages. Take for example, the VF-19's chest. The lack of chest cannons means that whole shell needs to be a new piece just to fill the hole, despite having identical details to the YF. All the associated swinging and sliding mechanism would then be deleted for the new chest because they serve no purpose. Then theres the head change, and the way the head needs to conceal without the old shields fancy features, you basically have nothing left of the old torso, other than the spine thrusters and the pilot egress hatch. Sure they save on a lot of guess work with transformation, but they need to mostly make new parts nonetheless, especially when everything from hips down/backward of intakes were intended to look different regardless of proportions. As for art style between M+ and M7, I see the latter as generally much more melted lol. If you were to challenge the size and scaling across series, what would it mean for the VF-22 that appears in both M7 and Delta, which features 171? Or going the other way and comparing those to the 21 and various 19s, all the way to the 19 Advanced, which fought alongside 171s. Should the 17 show up there and tower over its former co-stars that have their size and scaling made clear against the later CG valks?
  20. So... ah... maybe not as exciting as some of the other cars... but... I bought a loaded 2026 Honda Odyssey Elite. Not much of a flex, but I paid cash for it? Picking it up once the factory delivers it. My other car is an EV6 GT and despite it being a KIA it'll smoke the vast majority of cars on the road and is fun to drive - so that's my offset, yeah. Besides that. Pretty sure I'm turning into my dad now - queue that insurance commercial.
  21. Found my MUSHA registration card yesterday - including a mint CIB copy of Hellfire. My MUSHA is now complete-complete.
  22. Something that makes the Fire Valk Optimus look absolutely sensible by comparison? Though to be fair to the design, I don't think it's going to work until it's painted. The colors are really the only thing that will make that recognizable as anything remotely Evangelion-related.
  23. I guess that really depends on how much the family loves these characters. If they loved them enough to get through season 3 and still be satisfied, then the movie will probably make everyone happy with buttery popcorn and all, but if they’re not that into it, then I’d say wait on it and save some cash for something else
  24. It’s so ugly……..I love it. Can’t wait to see how this beast turns out
  25. Chronocidal

    HMR VF-19P

Oh, I have a lot more intensive mods for this than just the fins planned. They're just generally in the way, and look out of place at the location they're mounted. If I can pull it off, I'll probably make it some new wings, and see if I can finally get my Master File VF-19F. At the very least I'm going to be stripping and repainting the red. Fortunately, Bandai (for some inexplicable reason) couldn't figure out how to make the fins turn, so they just slapped a spare set of shoulders in the package that I can happily chop the fins off of, and still keep the stock ones as a spare set. Like.. the fact they chose to do that is baffling on multiple levels, but I at least appreciate the convenience.
