  1. Today
  2. Hahahaha. Same here
  3. Sorry; I meant your current project. O.o Sometimes my brain vapor locks on me while typing!
  4. And who might get it first?
  5. I think @derex3592 is working on one. I unfortunately donโ€™t have one.
  6. That was just luck: I had the clear soft inner plastic tray from my Koss KTXPRO-1 Titanium Headphones, and the part where the earpieces sat provided me the shapes for both canopies. A little heat for the upper one and a wooden sphere helped refine it further (I prefer "soda bottle plastic" when possible, as it can be ridiculously thin at scale and still look much clearer than styrene. Also: clearcoat doesn't bother it!). No problem! Curious to see how yours comes out! :D
  7. @pengbuzzHell yeah! Love it and I was also curious about why your material of choice is masking tape. I always love a story too and thanks for sharing yours. โ™ฅ๏ธ
  8. For those who have ordered the Pose+ Legioss (or have been looking into doing so), any rundown of options to purchase from? BBTS is my go-to, even if it takes them a while to get stuff in, because they gave me amazing customer service years back and basically won my business going forward. That said, they look to be about $100+ more than some smaller sellers that I've never heard of before. Does anyone have a sense of, among reputable sellers, where the best deals are, including shipping and anticipated tariffs to the US? Thanks.
  9. omg @pengbuzz - THAT'S AMAZING!!! I can't believe the stuff you create from scratch/masking tape! It's especially nice to find out about your Dad and the background behind your masking tape creations (I've always wondered why you chose that particular medium). It's so much more meaningful. How did you get the clear parts for the canopy to follow such good profiles?
  10. Personally I wouldn't worry too much about the release, even these special web-only releases. Wait for them to show up on the 2nd hand market, get a proxy buyer, and get it from Yahoo Japan. Yes you will pay the 6000-10000 mark up fee, but the stress level or waiting up at 2am refreshing a bunch of web pages is forever gone. Plus they put up the std disclaimer about it being available afterwards. Not saying its the cheapest option for everyone, but it has worked out for me. Plus the shipping always tends to be cheaper, as I bundle this with other items through the proxy.
  11. If it "helps" at all, HLJ has the 1/72 Black Aces discounted 50% to $12.87 USD for their summer sale. That's a crazy good price. 1/72 VF-1J Super/Strike Valkyrie "SVF-41 Black Aces" The regular 1/72 Super/Strike Valkyrie is $11.26 USD. I really don't need any more of either model...
  12. After release, there will be plenty available, probably cheaper than Luna Park. I still see the clear VF-1S popping up so I'm not worried about it.
  13. Epic. Thanks for the detailed feedback. Greatly appreciated. I see Mandarake as it from 48k to 50k Yen.
  14. It's really just Bandai stuff that's a problem for me. I get all my Hasegawa, Wave, Max Factory, Kotobukiya, Moderoid, Our Treasure, Tamiya, Aoshima, Fujimi, Hobby Japan pre-orders with no problems.
  15. Calling this one done; 4 years is long enough: It's now up on the shelf (will build permanent stand later, after I've had some time away from it); next project, not sure of at this point. Finances are tight again and more uncertainty in the air about the future.
  16. One hasn't sold on YJA in 180 days, so there is no historical data about the current open market price....with that said there is one that actually ended a few minutes after this post, with no sale at 32,105 JPY, it was relisted at 31,142 JPY...it is brand new, unopened....let's see if it sells this time...if not, at least it will tell you what you can't ask for it....lol https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r1188394102 You can also try a search on Mandarake, but their price is not determined by competative bidding...generally, their pricing usually runs lower than the open market prices you'd see on auctions...but if you were to match Mandarake pricing, it would probably be considered a "good deal" by most...as always, YMMV and with the economic situation being what it is....it could be we are in an extended buyer's market for the forseeable future....
  17. Thank you @wm cheng Great work on that phaser!
  18. How much is the now general price of the Yamato Macross 1/60 VF-1S Low Visibility out of curiousity.
  19. I was wrong! ๐Ÿ˜“ They're seen fighting on the Daedalus. They're even called out in dialogue! I've been entirely too focused on the Destroids INSIDE the Daedalus. ๐Ÿ˜…
  20. beyond fuming that i missed all the po's... #heartbroken ... can't do the luna park, but the after market might already come close to this...
  21. I guess there's global time for it's release as still nadda over here.
  22. Very click baity. Noticed it's pretty much the same with other items by different vendors.
  23. That's from Google translate... it seems like it but could be wong. I though doubt it...
  24. I gave up on HLJ. TOo much in the end, and wait times... nuff said.
  25. This leads me to question the use of plastic parts in the joints at particularly high-stress points: many of them are supporting quite a bit of mass/ weight or are under considerable tension/ strain when moved. As for the dyes being used on plastics: it depends upon the dye and the process. Some dyes can inherently weaken the plastic based on their composition, while heat and other processes can disrupt the polymerization chains in the plastics. Even dye concentration in the wrong amount can be an issue, as dyes are a chemical and plastic is a complex mix of chemicals based on the polymerization of petroleum products. For any dye attempt, I would recommend trying to test it first to see if it will create an issue later on.
