[Netflix] ONE PIECE Live Action Series
Seto Kaiba replied to no3Ljm's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, it looks like we're getting at least the first half of the Alabasta Saga there... Reverse Mountain, Whisky Peak, and Little Garden are all in the trailer. One thing to love about Netflix's One Piece adaptation... their attention to detail. It's hard to see, but you can see in that brief shot that they've even included the bands of cigars on smoker's arms and on the front of his coat.- 102 replies

It's just confusing semantics, it's limited to 500 units. The second wave is the last 300 units that are shipping in September.

Afaik/read Toynami has not said anything about a second wave of sale. On the website listing (since taken down)/email update they stated the remaining orders would ship end of August/beginning of September. Posts on fb groups mentioned only the first two days of orders (100 each day, Wednesday Preview night, and Thursday) were the first to go out, orders placed Friday, Sat and Sunday were end of August/beginning of Sept, totaling the 500 units. It would be nice and hopefully Toynami will open up another set/batch of orders maybe for NYCC if they make an appearance there. Finishing up the IMAI 1:720 scale Quel-Quallie Theatre Scout Pod. Decided to brush paint it with lacquers and did a small amount of acrylic on the stripe markings. Decals in this kit were not my friend. I had some disintegrate during application but not surprised. It was a fun build regardless. Wish it came with a had a stand so I ordered a very simple generic one that should be here next week. I may go in and weather it beyond the simple oil wash and layers of thinned lacquers I used. It’s hard to capture on my phone the subtle texture of the lacquer painting on dark areas of color, but it really adds something.

Thanks for the assist, SV2, and apologies, MA. In my defense, I debated whether to use lingo. I just wanted to sound like one of the cool kids for once. 🤪

I never did buy the VF stuff, but I was thinking about looking for one just to open so I can leave the original as is

Hobby Japan Web has also added images of the Hi-Metal R Scopedog which will be released in February showing some of the changes in the joints! Example... Old: New: I will leave the images there since the unit only has small changes...

Typically the importer is who is required to pay, which means the shippers in this case- HLJ is probably collecting the fee since the shipper is asking for it as part of shipping payment.

[Netflix] ONE PIECE Live Action Series

Would have thought after the success of season 1, they would have moved away from the cheap TV lighting...- 102 replies

By the way, what is 1/55 M&Ms?

That’s crazy. Toynami said they will have second wave of sale. I don’t believe they will not re-issue, now that they already modified the printing and colour.

I agree with that approach. Individual rooms would make it far more accessible to both kids and adults and the stackability would give long-term collectors a nice goal of completing the entire ring. As is, price tag notwithstanding, it is a nice set for what it offers, but I still prefer my original spherical Death Star playest, which I have on permanent display on my desk. I dig the mini-Imperial Shuttle. I made my own years ago, but LEGO's version looks pretty good. It could be its own set and I'd certainly buy it, the Lambda Shuttle being my favorite SW ship design. I wish they'd do a line of ships at that scale and with that level of detail, as the Microfighters just aren't as fulfilling.

I'm on vacation at the in-laws' place, and in our room here I have a modeling workbench set up. I took the old Imai Glaug kit with me to work on, repopped by Bandai for the 25th Macross anniversary. I paid only 1,020 yen for this back in the day. I think maybe I bought this around 2013 or so. I've filed down those red sensors and will replace them with Wave's H-Eyes 3.5mm lenses. Since I need so many of them however, I've decided to just create molds of one with Oyumaru and cast them with clear UV resin. No sense buying 3 more of those H-Eyes sets just to get 2 pieces from each!

A toy company that takes a kids brand to make a playset for kids as a display piece not aimed for kids, instead for adult collectors but only for the 1% of those collectors and cost's $1000.00. Their marketing team is drunk during office hours. I would have rather had each room sold seperately over the span of some years to assemble the full final Death Star as above. Covers both toys for kids and the displayability for adults, and gets money from all of them.

Images of the $1000 UCS Death Star have leaked: https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/the-lego-thread.173890/page-2169#post-23592282 While I think the idea of a huge (i.e. bigger than a free standing orb can be) Lego Death Star that you can display with one side to the wall (maybe even hang it up like a picture frame) I think the realized product by Lego ultimate falls flat, because it is missing an exterior hull, that you can fold away to reveal the interior.

First weekend of the BF6 open beta is almost over and I'll say my experience has been very good imho so I pre-ordered THE PHANTOM EDITION. BF6 has BF3/4 vibes but its different in the same way BF3 was different from BF2. I'm excited for the future of BF6 and can't wait for the next open beta weekend and ultimately the final game release.- 6963 replies

Maybe. But I've expereinced the same with all my Amazon Japan orders of the last couple of years, sometimes even an increase to what it showed me initially.

Hulu doesn't cares much of a sending off. It's got it's money and it's already absorbed by Disney minus the rebranding launch. There seems to the usual online demand for the eventual new cross over. Perhaps the success of this series and Badlands will lead to it.

At least they're not doing Netflix's gimmick of releasing half a season, then the other half some months matter.
