Thom Posted April 24 Posted April 24 I don't need to see another teaser/clip/trailer. I'm sold already. Any more and I'll get too story-spoiled!😉
Black Valkyrie Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Nice I like it 7.5/10 > The best current MCU after Spidy No way Home and Dp&W.
rsvictor1976 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 I just saw it.... it was pretty good. Gave me a Guardians of the Galaxy vibe even though it tries to deal with a serious issue.
mikeszekely Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I saw it today, best Marvel flick in quite some time (shame that you should watch the more mid Black Widow and Falcon and the Winter Soldier first). After years of comic book dialogue Florence Pugh's performance was refreshingly human.
Test_Pilot_2 Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Watched it today with the older kiddos. Solid. Stay for all the credits.
Mog Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Just watched it. Solid flick. Thank goodness they didn’t go with the standard MCU trope of villain with similar super power as the hero. Nice message about Spoiler mental health. And Spoiler Was I the only one expecting Yelena to say, “Sun’s gettin’ real low” to Bob? 😜
tekering Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Nice to see a lot of positive comments on the film here... Unlike most of the recent MCU output, which is either championed (Deadpool & Wolverine, GOTG3) or disparaged (The Marvels, Captain America 4), Thunderbolts* seems to be garnering both praise and criticism in equal measure. The response has been surprisingly polarizing (on social media, at least). 🤔
Tking22 Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I saw it Saturday and really enjoyed it, I've also watched literally everything MCU up to this point so I was ready for more US Agent, Yelena, Ghost, and Red Guardian. A solid film overall, and some real, actual meat to the credits scenes, I feel that hasn't been a thing for a while because Disney/Marvel had to redo their entire Kang thing, so I imagine for years now the post credits scenes we were supposed to have been getting were all scrapped in favor of what we got, a whole lot of nothing, until now.
Thom Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Saw it today, and really liked it. It was a fun ride with good characters, which was a good driver for most of it seeing as the villain came off... Spoiler ...pretty soft. If he had been a real threat, then I would have given this an 8.5 or even a 9. but once Yelena walked into the shadow and you saw she wasn't dead, then you just knew everyone was going to be coming back. Even the little girl Alexei tried to save. That heavy moment was suddenly light as a feather. And what the F about Taskmaster!? She was in it for just five seconds before getting popped in the head. I know they did it to show that any character could die at any moment, but I kept expecting her to show back up again even half way through! Her death felt like nothing, and I feel it would have been better if they had left her out entirely. Also, interesting that they are still showing Taskmaster in the ads. Just put Bob in there if you need someone for the sixth spoke! I feel a little sorry for the actress who played her. Despite that, I give this 7.5/10. Now bring on the Fantastic Four!
TangledThorns Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Thunderbolts* was just released on Disney+. It was OK but glad I didn't pay money to see it in the theater. That seems to be the theme for most films these days.
Big s Posted August 31 Posted August 31 1 hour ago, TangledThorns said: Thunderbolts* was just released on Disney+. It was OK but glad I didn't pay money to see it in the theater. That seems to be the theme for most films these days. It has likeable characters, but a kinda lame story. It just had a why did they go through all this kinda feel. Like the ending was just there to set up a new team and they never really stopped the bad guy. In fact they were about to bring her to justice and then just got distracted and stopped caring. I don’t even know if Bucky still works as a government official or just stopped caring about that as well. I kinda stopped caring by the end.
Thom Posted August 31 Posted August 31 It was a fun movie, but it didn't really wrap up its story, the 'bad guy' got a work-around with no real repercussions for his actions and everyone just walked away with dust on their shoulders. Except Fem-Taskmaster. Spoiler Part of the reason they killed her off was to show that no one had any 'plot armor,' but then everyone who was turned into a shadow, a dang frightening thing to see, just popped back, no harm-no foul, completely nullifying that. Again, fun, but....
Big s Posted August 31 Posted August 31 I was kinda thinking about it and I was liking the movie up until Bucky figured out that they had to do something about Bob. I think they should have done more of the group trying to nail their employer and less of the big bad God Bob. I still don’t get the groups motivation for giving up at the end, they could’ve nailed her and just said Bucky was their political support for the group. It was such a terrible ending that it kinda just will make the movie rather forgettable. I don’t think I’ll ever rewatch it like I did with a lot of the older marvel movies. The whole thing felt more like a tv show plot for a mostly skippable episode than a full on movie story
