I’m fairly certain this was addressed in the first episodes, she is a modified (Female instead of Male) clone of Jango Fett.  Boba Fett is Alpha, she is Omega.  That’s why they hunted for her in the first season, they needed access to her pure genetic strain.  Now they just want her to secure the Kaminoan Geneticist's cooperation.

I missed that important detail..🤷

They're also likely trying to tie her to perfecting what would eventually become Snoke and the sequel trilogy, which, in my opinion, would be a bad idea; regardless, the studio is dead set on legitimizing that trainwreck, so my opinion, and that of millions of fans, is irrelevant.

I think we all saw that coming.

Spoiler

We all knew Cid would rat out the Batch. There is no honor among thieves.

So does Dee Bradley Baker take a pay cut now that there's one less voice he has to play?

Spoiler

Just means Hasbro never has to make Tech in 3.75” scale.

Too soon?

Went pretty dark really fast there.  Just wish this season didn’t have so much useless fluff.

Ouch..! Yeah, everything went wrong. Well played, I'm itching for the next season now.

Man, there was far to much crap in all of this that could of easily been trimmed down. We had all this filler and fluff that really brought out NOTHING and then The last 2 episodes somehow were able to hurt me about as hard as my ex girlfriend leaving me with the dog and ice cube trays. I mean literally was going "WTF?! FILONI! BAD!"

What a punch to the gut.

Spoiler

Although Filoni and his team gave multiple death flags for that character, it was still tough to watch the end play out.

The twist concerning Omega and Karr—apart from voice actors Ang and Castle-Hughes having a shared Kiwi accent—that came out of nowhere. Season 2 should be fun.

Just saw the first three eps.

If they can keep this pace and this quality, we’ll be in for a solid season.

Kinda suspected that reveal, but at least, they didn’t overdo it.

Also watched the first 3 today. I can't help but feel, though, that in order for this season to work in terms of (sequel) canon, won't it have to have a particularly unhappy ending? Unless the "storytelling out" is that Project Necromancer isn't actually a success and Palpatine has to resort to other not-as-perfect means...?

The way I understood it was

Spoiler

...Omega has the gene/genetic material which prevents midichlorians from degradation (i.e. she's a "template"). All the other clones do not carry that gene so any time blood (or any genetic material) is cloned/transferred, the m-count degrades. That means should Palpatine clone himself 🙄, his midichlorian count would not transfer between him and his clone, making an imperfect clone. Omega, like most folks in the galaxy, does not have an M-count high enough to be particularly Force-sensitive but she has the genetic template to keep midichlorians from degrading if one were to clone a Force-sensitive.

Using Grogu was likely their post-Palpatine attempt to create a "Snoke" since there wasn't a Palpatine around to extract genetic material from. But we're getting ahead of ourselves and that's a ways down the road.

Was close to getting annoyed with Omega this week.

Spoiler

But glad she finally came around to accepting Crosshairs’ methods and plans.

Do wanna see more from the fallout of the last scene though.

Another two-fer this week.

Solid eps, one being a slow-paced mood ep, the other being more action oriented.

Again, it’s been a solid season.  Even the fillers have had a few bits that were at least entertaining.

Thankfully, they avoided most of the cliche possible story endings/plot contrivances with the ending.

Definitely not as good as the series endings for Clone Wars or Rebels.  But not hair-pulling horrible either.

It ended as it should have, focus on the Bad Batch and Omega. I don't understand fans and the Youtube talking-heads harping on certain things (where's a Clone rebellion [Seriously, what “Clone rebellion”? Like so many things in the Empire, they swept the Clones under the rug and let them rot. End of story.], Where's Rex?, blah blah blah, etc.). Keep it focused on your characters and THEIR story arc.

Yeah, they did develop Omega and Crosshair more this season.

And I’m glad Tech didn’t come back from the dead.

But Hunter, Wrecker, and Echo didn’t exactly have much growth throughout this season.

I get the Batchers’ “mission” was to protect Omega.  And the ending showed that.  So, it ended solidly.  But I think it’s also fair to say that it didn’t reach the heights of Clone Wars’ or Rebels’ endings.

So did Project Necromancer just get restarted again at some point?

No one ever said it was stopped. Only that funding was reallocated to Project Stardust. Seeing that it was still around in The Mandalorian, I would say it only suffered a decade-ish-long delay. Palpatine probably would kept some funding off-the-books to keep it alive. The dark lord needed to find a principal investigator to head it up again and find some new specimens, neither which were not easy to come by now.

LOL....if you're going to bring up semantics....I could tell you I never asked if it was stopped...but I guess it's ok for you to make the same assumption that it was more or less on "hiatus" (is that better?) for a decade (which is likely not true considering the armada the Emperor and his loyalists also amassed on Exegol during this period of time)....meh...as I've said in the past, some of these shows are good but they all ultimately still lead to TROS...

I liked that they left it open ended enough that it can work with having the entire endeavor end or proceed eventually, depending on your own head canon.  So, if you like the Disney Trilogy, then the events of the last episode were just a setback; if you consider the Rey Palpatine "saga" a complete travesty and abomination, then project necromancer hit a dead end after all the records were destroyed and that was that, relegating that whole sequels shenanigans as nothing more significant than poorly conceived and written fan-fiction relegated to irrelevancy... I rather prefer the second option myself.
