aurance Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 This is just for fun and highly subjective. No wrong answers. Which Valk toy that you own, in your opinion, is the most accurate representation of its on-screen presence?
rdrunner Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 For me it's the DX VF-25 renewals. Still a favourite in my small collection.
Froy Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 Probably the 1/60 VF-1 v2. I only own yamatos. I can bet Bandai new 1/48 is a bit better. Is one of the models that happens to not be affected a lot by anime magic. Like the YF-21, those skinny legs are just awful.
HardlyNever Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 In terms of screen-to-toy accuracy, I think the VF-31 is hard to beat. Not my favorite design, but definitely screen accurate.
twich Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 I would have to go with the VF-31 toy being the most accurate twich
aurance Posted May 6, 2020 Author Posted May 6, 2020 My choice would be version 1 vf-25. Naw, actually VF-31 for my choice as well.
Sanity is Optional Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 The VF-25 and VF-31 (and the VF-27 and SV-262) have the advantage of being based on CG models, unlike the hand-drawn images of the VF-1, VF/YF-19, and YF-21/VF-22.
kajnrig Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 The GN-U Dou YF-19 remains the best rendition of its battroid mode. The toys based on CG models almost seem like cheating, they're too spot on.

Isn’t this what we always wanted? I mean you can look at what 3P companies taking the anime correct route and delivering some very well executed results. I would have to say one that comes to mind is the VF-171 Nightmare as it is a great interpretation of it’s CG form to a 3D toy and how it represents itself in totally. Cannon Fodder loaded with nothing but “explodium” that Bandai used to recreate what we saw on the series.
Lolicon Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Toynami Masterpiece series. They're a masterpiece of something alright!
tekering Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Bandai's Hi-Metal R VF-4G. They absolutely nailed the battroid mode! Exactly as it appears in the anime. What?

Darotower Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 My vote is for the DX VF-31 also, it's the most accurate valkyrie of all. In case of the VF-1 (my favourite model of all) the VF-1 v2 1/60 has a small gunpod (with 1/48's looks better) but still has a very good looking like the bandai's DX.
