At 1/72 your kid probably wouldn’t even have a house to stay in

A model's box will be big enough to stay in

Yeah, but the property won’t be able to accommodate both the box and the model.

I wonder if Milia could be modified so that she is holding the helmet in her right hand?

Probably, but it would take some sculpting skills. You’d probably have to redo the hand and with the helmet dead, you would have to drill out the face and make the inside of the helmet. I think the helmet wouldn’t be too tough after getting the inside removed, then you could just use some epoxy to shape some simple padding.

Does it include decals for the eyes?

I have a feeling that it does, but I’m not sure. Maybe if you check some of the other recent figures from hasegawa, it will give a better idea

just checked the description and it does include decals

I was hoping that the face might be a separate piece that fits inside the helmet. If it's all one piece then that would be a no go. If the face is separate then that makes it more possible, but I guess I'll need to see what the parts actually look like to know if it's  doable.

Question: does the helmet have a faceplate (transparent), or is it all "open" (not sure if the anime has it as transparent)? Was wondering if it might just be easier to fill the front of the helmet and paint it to look reflective/tinted?

Update: apparently it does-

Not sure on that, it’s a bit tough to tell from the pictures. I can see it either way, but I guess we’ll find out soon

That I’m kinda doubtful on, it isn’t showing in any product pics yet , I have a feeling they’re going for the scene just before the final battle IMG_2316.png.3b51f092471af655b3807fee9bb3942c.png

in the scenes where the faceplate is down, it appears clear. The Queadluun Rau kit has the faceplate as an option, but it’s just the color of the plastic. It may be possible to use that piece as a rough guide to make it, not sure if they’re sized the same or not.

Given how trapped the top of the legs are between the bottom of the chest intakes and the wings, is there really much point to the  rotating the waist gimmick?  I mean at most you might get 3-4 mm in rotation.

When the wings are unfolded, it gives space, but even then the legs are a bit limited. I think they should have redone their knee joints and added an a crunch like the wave and plamax battroids and things would have been more beneficial. But I’d really put the hasegawa battroids as a stand there and look pretty and the Plamax as the pose it anyway you want kinda thing

Yes with wings opened there is some space, but not very much at all.

Evidenced by the promo pics.

If dead centre is 12 o'clock then the rotation seen in that pic is about 11:00 at best.

I think you are right with the crunch/knee  mods.

As it is the only real benefit is the TV style hands, which  could be added to a reissue of the weapons set along with a TV pilot.

I'd buy a bunch of those instead of this, which is an easy pass.

They should include TV arm armor.

Hasegawa always tends to be a meet you halfway on their updates. You got round tv hands, but still got the movie arm packs. I’m just hoping they don’t cheap out if they do a tv Queadluun Rau

VF-1J Max.

Oh my! I've been waiting for this announcement for a while.

I much prefer the Hasegawa styling and don't really care about posing, so this is a must buy for me. Good to finally add a VF-1J Max to the thin assortment of other Hasegawa battroids.

Can't wait to see the box art!

Some delicate clean-up is definitely required.

There's no faceplate piece included, transparent or otherwise. 🤨

I have 2 1/48 black aces, but the kit provides options for 5 schemes...🤔

That’s definitely a good point! I think I have three of them now, along with 5 or 6 of the 1/72 version. I’d like to do one 1/48 model as in non-Super configuration at some point.

Yeah I have 3 of the 1/72 I think. If I remember right, the 1/72 has 4 version options.

For sure, will want to do 1 of each scale as a non-super. The tail markings are very cool on these. Not sure what to do with the leftover super parts though.

What retailers in North America are carrying Milla? Only place I can find is even is AmiAmi japan. All the usual places I get Hase kits seemed to skip over the resin.
