Rodavan Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 It's Fan work non the less , this started me out on scfi Still a WIP , should be finished soon Quote
Knight26 Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Very nice, the eagle is a very iconic design and also has a quite a real world acheivable feel to it, I mean it looks like something that could have been built in 1999. Quote
Rodavan Posted May 17, 2006 Author Posted May 17, 2006 Updates Still lots to do , but is coming along nicely . Quote
EXO Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Not Macross ... 394161[/snapback] says it all right there... looks great though. I haven't seen that show since the Philippines... I used to watch that, Planet Of The Apes series, and the Time Tunnel. Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I remember I had a huge collection of them, the die-cast ones. Quote
Radd Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I need to see that show again sometime. I used to watch it all the time when Sci-Fi started showing it. Quote
electric indigo Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 The Eagle is a classic, thanks for refreshing the memories. I recently rebuilt my old Airfix kit of the eagle's little brother, the Mark IX "Hawk". Quote
Noriko Takaya Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Which design are you using? Are you basing your model off of Roberto Baldassari's Eagle which is rendered from Brian Johnson's original design? I love that old show and have been a fan of the Eagle for years. I even own a couple of the recent diecast models of the ship as well as the original models released in the 70's. One of my favorite pics: Quote
neptunesurvey Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 I have never seen 1999. The ships are interesting thou. Quote
Rodavan Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 neptunesurvey - I remember only certain Episodes .... but the Eagle has always been , next to the VF-1 my favorite "space" craft Noriko Takaya - Yup , model designed by Brian Johnson , check out Martin Bower's model s to see more "Space 1999" models , they are excellent. electric indigo - I like the Hawk , but the Eagle is still tops , post some pics Knight26 - can't agree more Radd - Haven't seen that for some time maybe I can convince the wife to get it for me on DVD Black Valkyrie - Never saw any in South Africa , but that why I build models , all my model can be used to create moulds or be 3D printed ( Still a bit expensive) Quote

Rodavan Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 I finished these a few weeks ago and posted them last week , now they are gone . I think I nmed the 2 threads the same so , lte me try again Quote
ahiachris Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 That was over 20 years ago. Planet Of The Apes series, Space 1999, Thunderbirds and the Time Tunnel I know they're all more than 30 years ago. They were all showing back in the late 70s when I'm still in the Philippines. Quote
Capt Hungry Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I remember watching the original network broadcast of Space 1999 back in the 70's. I was but a wee lad living on Long Island in New York. It was a great show and it's too bad it doesn't get rebroadcast. Syfy would be a perfect place for it too instead of the garbage they keep showing. Radovan - beautiful work! Thanks for sharing. Quote
TehPW Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 (edited) http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/16/entertainment/actor-martin-landau-dies/index.html :/ I find it odd that this article does NOT mention Space: 1999. Of course I have not idea what he's been doing of late. Just shocking that another 'legend of sci-fi' has passed... Edited July 17, 2017 by TehPW thoughts after reading the article from CNN Quote
Dynaman Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 We all know that Anime was often (nearly always?) butchered when brought to the US in the seventies and eighties - but this is what somebody in Japan did to the closing credits for Space 1999. Made the worse by the English version only have music (and darn good music too) so there was no need to translate anything. (and yup, not the record for thread necromancy but this one is old) Quote

I'm in Singapore, and Anderson offers free shipping which pretty much works out to be the same compared to Zica with shipping. Anyway, it is a pretty hefty price tag nonetheless. Quote
