Sephiroth
I remember reading about this Japanese credit card offer for an extremely limited all black 1/48 VF-1J a while back, but I don't recall ever hearing how it turned out. http://www.gecard.com/character/macross.html
CdnShockwave
Don't know much about the credit card thing, but I must say that valk in jet mode looks pretty sweet. Very intimidating.
Renato
Well, supposedly there are only three of those in existence, so unless there is an off-chance of someone putting up on Yahoo Auctions those pics are all we'll ever have.

Looks a bit like a LV Heatshield. Edited April 26, 2005 by Valk-1S
DatterBoy
If it was a contest of some sort, probably ended up in the hands of someone who could care less for it. :Dat

So it may be broken by now Agh! what a waste of such a rare item if that happens. But I am sure some collector would probably have tried tracking down the winner to buy it off them. Graham
My Hasegawa SV-51 Ivanov kit came with a leaflet for this credit card promo in the box. The leaflet has a larger version of the Battroid pic and it clearly shows that the heatshield is a similar blue to the Low Vis heatshield and features a standard Skull. jenius
I thought you had to have a special Macross version of the card or something to qualify for the Macross 1/48 prize???
Mephistopheles
Hhmmm, I might have to paint my Stealth now that I what an all black valkyrie looks like... well, I'll leave some grey on it. ...Now I just need to learn to paint ...paint well ...actually I just need to learn to be patient when painting... ...come to think of it I suck at painting even if I am patient which leads to impatience and being unsatisfied. 1/1 LowViz Lurker
I want them to do to the yf21/vf22* what they did to that. The black kinda looks shiny and stuff. Is there an official name for this vf1J on the box? Like stealth vf1J, or "Roy undead VF-1J" or something? Or do we just call it low vis ver 1.5? *er that is if they get that far. ruskiiVFaussie
lol, and to think it's not that great anyways. Low vis 1 is still the best lookin non-canon valk out there still.
1/1 LowViz Lurker
Considering how much more common the low vis 1 is and how much that goes for on ebay that isn't too bad. Remember only 3 in the world. Of course the actual thing itself isn't worth the money, just the RARE RARE RARE factor that boosts its demand and makes the collector feel incomplete without it and having the bragging right of having something no one else can have. Good thing I'm not the collector type. All mine are for display not locked in a box forever. It's like diamonds. They are "valuable" on the basis of being rare, (which surprisingly they aren't) not necessarily because the shiny rock is actually worth the money. ruskiiVFaussie
'1' VF-1J Hikky + alot of black paint = yay. And i'd put some nice gun metal paint effects on the thrusters....
Ignacio Ocamica
How I hate exclusive stuff, considering that I work hard and money is not an issue to get what I want There's the language barrier, there's the "no international shipping", there's the convention exclusive and so on... Fly4victory
Never seen the original in person but look that the first pictures then the auction had to guess the auction is a fake. The pictures posted from the visa ad show white missiles and white wing store pylons. The one up for auction has the gray missiles of the VF-1J stealth. Were the exclusive three issued with any certificates by Yamato or the bank to prove that the aircraft is one of the three?
jenius
Yeah, that auction looked terribly shading. Black credit card valk.... with Stealth Strike Parts! Bare in mind, this was before the stealth parts were available separately...
kensei
If that's the case, then someone just got really ripped off. I can get 7 valks for that price.
EXO
there's 2 sets of TV hands on that picture. One white and half a set of black hands on the left wing. I think the other half of the black hads is taped to the side underneath the white hands. And no pilot?
Sumdumgai
Looks like a Low Vis pilot is in the cockpit, but it's hard to tell.
Deimos
Looks like a Low Vis pilot is in the cockpit, but it's hard to tell. nope no pilot. the translated auction listing stated that no pilot. someone actually bid and won that thing ???? 1/1 LowViz Lurker
lol Reminds me of people who sell empty carboard boxess on ebay and people ended up paying hundreds of dollars for one because they assumed they bought the item displayed on the box and not an empty cardbard box. 1/1 LowViz Lurker
Yep it has happened. Some people don't read the ads properly and the seller can get away with it if worded a certain way.

The Purifyer
man oh man I'd love the real thing. I pitty the poor rich man who bought it... and It's not like it's hard to replicate I mean it's a black VF-1J not like it has fancy gold leaf detailing. The Japanese are so lucky with their lucky draw prizes, exclusive figures and what not... I pitty the poor rich man who bought it...
