Vespaeda
http://news.yahoo.com/nasa-scientists-begin-warp-drive-experiments-190400874.html Never say never. Mark this day: the day human scientists announced they discovered just enough of a hypothetical prod to actually perform experiments expressly with the intent of developing interstellar drives. QTA: "..could travel an apparent speed of 10 times light speed. Gizmodo suggests that an Earthlike world about 20 light years away, Gliese 581g, would be a two year voyage away..." So, we just might find Pandora in time to avoid sucking all bio-resources dry on this world and maybe encounter some nekkid, blue, Thunder-Cat women? Build it with eight wheels and a turret and you've got Tank Police Ok might need some cat girls too, but I'm sure some cosplay coeds would be willing to help. paramat
Thanks for posting that, KOI 172.02 is the most Earthlike exoplanet discovered so far. Recently a possible planet was detected in the nearest star system to our own, Alpha Centauri. Also a possible 5 planets around another close star system Tau Ceti. Vespaeda
Curious if anyone who is intimately familiar with the Macross Variable Fighter's weapons and accessoriy systems knows if the countermeasures and jamming equipment VFs employed included this approach? I know Roy manually engages the missile salvos from Unification forces w/the help of a retina-lock/eye-blink target and triggering in Mac Zero; this type of missle countermeasures seems de rigeur? How else could Max and company repeatedly dodge so much missile spam? http://news.yahoo.com/science-fiction-aims-fund-real-weapon-205811327.html

Actually really cool news for the tentative confirmation of the 1964 theory of how particles acquire mass which leads to gravity which leads to the Universe as it exists. treatment
this just in from Discovery News...Japan Launches Cute Robot to Space Station A small talking robot was accompanying Sunday's mission. The android is designed to act as a chatting companion for astronaut Koichi Wakata, who is set to arrive at the space station later this year.Standing at just 34 centimetres (13.4 inches) tall and weighing about one kilogram (2.2 pounds), Kirobo is programmed to communicate in Japanese and keep records of its conversations with Wakata, who is the first Japanese astronaut to command the ISS....The robot, which has a wide range of physical motion, will also play a role in some missions, relaying messages from the control room to the astronaut.Sending the android to space is part of a study aimed at seeing how a non-human companion can provide emotional support for people isolated over long periods. Figures it'll be the japanese who do this first.Anyway, with this development, you know the fembot-variety will soon not be far behind. Space Station Chobits...
