  1. I was watching AmiAmi, HobbySearch, CDJ, and NY. The link to buy never showed up for me at AmiAmi or HobbySearch. I refreshed both pages and then noticed the sold out/reservation closed status. CDJ gave me the link and I was able to make it to the payment screen. Because I have a PayPal balance, I didn't hesitate. ^^This. If CDJ gets extra stock like they have for the YF-30, then I think it will appear in the standard listings later on. Edit: Order confirmed. I'm going to bed.
  2. I would give an optimistic estimate, but I didn't want to get anyone's hopes up. You're right though, that poor cow.
  3. Seto Kaiba and niomosy, I agree with everything you both said. Well put. CoreyD: Maybe. And maybe we will be surprised again, and HG will sell its rights to Macross within the next ten years. Stranger things have happened.
  4. It was fun chasing the rabbit into the rabbit hole. Alas, for Robotech and it's fans, the damage is already done. The brand needs a new, younger, and more diverse audience to survive. Nothing has been shown that proves HG has the tools or the passion to move in that radical direction.
  5. Is it Yuki or one of the Iscandar sisters? Either way, I'm in. Edit: The flight suit theme is
  6. It's currently 0421 in Tokyo, Japan and 1521 in Boston, MA, USA. Mr. March: I will try. Tamashii is reissuing Ozma's VF25s Valkyrie and orders will open in Japan on August 1 in the afternoon. Everyone is asking what that translates to in their own local time so that they can be awake and ready to preorder the 25s. I was sure some were trying to turn it into a joke, though. It looks like I was mistaken. I'm sorry about that.
  7. I picked mine up at the post office today. The box...it's impressive.
  8. The main ebay server went dark last night around when a very nice VF-X was sold at a best offer price. It reminded me of one of our recent 'for sale' threads. Who knows, it could even be the same person! http://www.ebay.com/itm/251603414694?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I don't know what's going on with ebay, though. It may take a while for that link to work.
  9. Nice. The courier left a note at my house yesterday for mail that needed my signature. I'm expecting a couple international shipments, and I hope this is waiting for me at the post office today. I still have two Macross series to pick up after this, in no particular order: Macross Zero Macross 7 I'm also saving up for the Blu-ray sets of Orguss and RahXephon. Update: Yay! TGIF and Macross2.
  10. Thanks for the review, GU-11. Hasbro loves Bumblebee. The light piping effect has always been a draw for me. I wish Has/Tak would take advantage of it more often.
  11. I'm in. With this news and the Blu-ray set, it's like finding a unicorn of awesomeness.
  12. Netflix sent me an update on season 3 at the beginning of the week and I should finish my own mini marathon tonight or tomorrow. I'm a sucker for cliché time travel plots (which explains Orguss, Doctor Who, and Quantum Leap to name a few). This show adds to that pedigree with something special. Given all the new questions and plot twists this season, I'm already looking forward to season 4! I hope Showtime is able to green light another year.
  13. Any tips for someone just starting with the printed books? I bought the five volume set from amazon.jp and it arrived last week. I plan to take my time with them, even though I do not know the language. The cover art is amazing, and after a quick scan of the first volume I really like what I see inside. I figure I would use the printed set to get my feet wet before going digital, and then make that move once I've had a taste. Also, the writer in me wanted to have something physical to hold.
  14. <...> Apologies. After some thought, I decided that my earlier reply wasn't adding anything to the discussion of the new GBP Armor Set and I dropped it. Moving on... I had a look at Jenius's archives at anymoon.com. Of Yamato's three 1/60 v2 GBP armor releases, one was a set complete with a VF-1J. This grey goggled 1J was not branded as Hikaru's 1J, though. Everyone around at the time probably knows this already, but that seems to highlight the fact that Yamato's set was a DYRL release. Arcadia's release, being a TV release, does includes Hikaru's 1J. And that is interesting. Maybe it is the translations that I have had access to, but I never had the impression that the armored 1J in SDFM was Hikaru's standard 1J. I always thought it was some random armored 1J.
  15. The only strategy I can give away 1000% percent is that I will be awake, and I will be aiming for one order.
  16. Heh. I would buy it if the color was pink and the Valkyrie had boobs. We are talking about the VF-11 MAXL, right?
  17. Meh. I prefer touch ups and paint at any price to tacky stickers. Water decals would be an improvement if Arcadia is still including them. That said, I still think the best compromise would be an optional part in grey that fits over the standard visor. There seems to be enough of a ridge on the 1J visor to allow for this. And if an extra optional part was added for the armor set, it would avoid the economic faux pas that a separate head would create while keeping the white 1J's fresh out-of-the-box value.
  18. Boo. The upside, though, is that I needed an excuse to buy new model paints. Now I have one. It seems I also have an excuse to get active on twitter again.
  19. I don't know. I think HG blew its reboot opportunity with The Shadow Chronicles. That show should have been the pilot of an OVA miniseries of at least three parts, if not more. Instead fans got empty promises and countless DVD boxsets, which is a real shame. And since HG is unable or unwilling to license the Blu-ray masters a new release will just be the same old, same old. A better Kickstarter would have been to sweeten the deal for Big West and try to get a license for the HD version of Macross. I guess fans will have to wait and see if someone like Robert Woodhead will take up the cause again. Robotech/Gundam Academy falls too far into the uncanny valley for me, and I say that as someone who enjoys both Macross and Gundam.
  20. I don't 'see' them per se. However, hkcollectibles still has the weathering tomahawk on sale and in stock. I toss it in and out of my cart, along with the VF-19P and the unpainted VF-1A kit when I browse the site. It's virtual window shopping.
