  1. Here you go admitidly this one has a missing arm and the funny back pack that some of them had but here you go, I really couldnt be bothered to get my Roy one down from where it is glued.
  2. OH crap I thought I was the only person in creation to have those Rowboatheck comics. I had noticed the similarity of the stories but in my usual dismiss anything with Robotech in the title way I never put 2 and 2 together. At least now I can die happy in the knowledge that Im not a complete sado.
  3. Thanks Ghostryder Takatoku/Henkei converters were the ones, Battroid was it's best look
  4. looking good. I wish I could find in England the polyester you use.
  5. For the last few days I have been tidy up things and doing other non Macross things. Why waiting for some primer to dry I was drawn to my Bandai and Hasgawa kits just to look at some pannel markings so I could decide where to put some of the ones that I felt were missing from the 1/55. This ended up with my trusty metal rule being used to measure out the various parts on the two Valks after my discoveries I ended up getting my 1/60 and 1/48 Yammies in on this. The length of the leg part (see picture below) is different on each so I worked ou the average of tehm and found the legs on the 1/55 are about 5mm too short. After measuring all the Valk types I have I found 1/48 is 117mm real scale is 5616mm 1/55 is 86mm real scale is 4730mm 1/60 is 78mm real scale is 4680mm 1/72 is 72mm real scale is 5184mm The average is 5042mm I worked out the 1/55 should be 91.6mm nearly 6mm too short. The arms are just as bad I suspect this was to make it kiddie friendly no pointy ends. Easily fixed. But what about the legs mmm!! Looks like Im going to have to do a cut and shut to extend the length. luckily I have some spare legs. This would account for the squashed look and the fact that you could never place the landing light stickers anywhere without them getting in the way. the Stablaiser wings are also too low. I`ll get my Exacto saw...........
  6. Yeah I tried to find somewhere near to it today to park (my work van) it's all permit and red routes arround it . Gonna try and get to Comet soon, It is a bit of a walk from the Tube. Shame is I had to stay in Battersea a few weeks back, but everytime we got back to the Hotel it was past opening time, shame as its was a few mins walk.

    1/48 Vf-1s Roy Custom

    Excellent as always
  8. Agreed they should have put it down at birth I cant say I totally agree here as a member of the 1/55 apreciation club. I can see where you shooting from. Hence my 1/55 mod (link in sig) when its done I'll move onto a Gerwalk version Yup one look at Battroid and you know only Gerwalk or Fighter will do for these. As far as Gerwalk is concerned how about the small (I think made by Taka and maybe others) a little over 6ins tall in Battroid mode cheap VF1`s. They were available in the 80`s and cost a couple of £ or $ the Gerwalk mode is awful Its like you steped on a Gerwalk and put it in a blister pack the fighter mode is as bad in fact the only mode work even looking at is Battroid. Everthings in proportion except the cockpit which has been sculpted with a Breadknife. Comparing one of these to the line art is like saying a 1/48 is a good paper aeroplane. If anyone is unsure about this I`ll post a picture and your doubts will be silenced (I have 3 of em).
  9. I get that when I mention Macross in general, usually I then just say Transformers and if that doesn't work Gundamm. If they still don't know they are a lost cause.
  10. I know that Taka had a catalogue out when they were still making the 1/55 as the local toyshop to me had one but they could hardly ever get anything other than a Roy or Hikaru. They did once get the SDF1 and a Destroid Monster. It would be cool if someone did/does print that sort of publication as the Transformers one is rather good. I know a guy who has one for Lesney Matchbox Cars there are hundreds of them in the series.
  11. Hey HWR what about the Cygnus I asume that you`ll not want to risk it as Im sure its more fragile that the Dropship that and the fact its a nearly 30 year old kit. When/if you do build it can you post some picures. On another front You have been to the models/anime shop on Lavender Hill in Battersea have you ever been to Russ modelshop on Batersea rise ( not too far down the road ) I Drive past it on a regular basis and have never had the chance to go in. It looks really old school the sort of place you'd find good oldstock and maybe Macross.
  12. darn everytime I see stuff like this I just want to go out and buy a rocket.
  13. Nice hooters ehmm !! I mean Viper
  14. Wow how could I have missed that on the compenium. So many words I know already mostly from watching DYRL without subs but now I can really understand it (nearly)
  15. Well while waiting for some filler to dry I started looking at the arms and sholders. From looking at the line art and the Hasegawa instructions (and kits) I noticed that the 1/55 arms are a bit out of proportion, now some of this is to aid the perfect transformation and some of it is also due to Anime magic, as my Battloid isnt going to be transformable I thought I should make it more acurate in this area. It`s always bugged me that the 1/55 cant move his sholders up or down. So I thought about fitting some ball joints. Off came an arm and into bits it went. at first Isanded down the collar part arount the arm where the ratchet parts fit on the normal 1/55 as they make the arms stick out too far IMO, my reasoning behind this will hopefully become clear when its finnished. once this was done I found the ball joint cup fitted purfectly in the ratchet housing, its a shame it will make the arm still stick out . I started by removing the post on the shoulder mount and replacing it with the ball joint. Before look. notice the lack of ratchet on the part as Bootlegs dont have them And after the mod I may still have to trim down the lenght of the post as it may be too long, but I wont know for sure untill the shoulder is mounted. Next stage was to add the ball cup to the shoulder itself. I marked out the area where the forearm moves in so as not to intrude on this area, that is one joint that I will probably leave (at the mo) as it works ok. This is the rough position the socket will go I still have to remove some of the top screws mounting as this will get in the way. I will and keep it but will have to use a longer screw to allow me to remove some of its screw post onthe other sides part. Well thats it for mo as unfortunately for me Silver Dragons rather good Super Ostrich kit turned up this week and I have been a bit distracted by it. Hmmm Next custom.... Super O custom al la The full posts on these can be got at :- KidKorrupt Jasonc Much respect to the both of them.
  16. Well I love this one. Its stored in my Favourites folder.
  17. Its a shame that Wave never made the Fast packs for the 1/72 Vf-17
  18. I dont want to sound dumb I never really gave the characters on the Zentran mecha any regard but your post got me thinking how did you translate it ?? What I mean is- is there a Zentran translator type thing or such that you can write in Zentran.
  19. I just wanted to mention IIRC a product just has to be "final packed" in a country to be allowed to say made in xx country. Years ago I worked for a company who just box packed and their products said made in England on the box even though most of the product was made in eastern Europe.
  20. Yells "It`s a custom"
