After being forced (mildly) to sit through the new Miami Vice film I am filled with hate for any writers who think they can resurect any 1970`s or 1980`s T.V programes or toylines. That film was pointless. The shame of it is that I now belive the TF film will be as bad or worse at best. Im not asking for a carbon copy real version of the cartoon but some sembalance of similarity would be good. Then again with Speilberg in charge what can you expect. He has made some good films but all I need to say is Jarassic Park. Great book shame that the film has only two similarites to the book (the name and the Dinosaurs). At least it was a good film though. This is a train wreck waiting to happen. I pointed my brother to the posts and pictures on Macross Nexus. He is quite open to change and such and is a senior engineer in electomechanical enginnering, he is probably the most sensable person I know. This is what he said in his email to me. "Oh my. They've taken the realistic transformation thing a little too seriously with Prime. You can see the engine cylinders and horns and all sorts. And megatron? Didn't see him, but there was some strange mess of twisted metal standing next to Prime in one picture." I thik I may have to go see it just so I can say I walked out before the end. (as I didnt get the chance with Miami Vice)

Looks ok. I think I`d have to get the putty out but looks ok non the less. Im glad that 007-Vf1 has mentioned that the Imaii one is a pig to convert to use on the Hasegawa as I was seriously thinking of chopping mine up to fit on a spare Hase kit. Dont think I will bother now. May be Hasegawa will do one now they have the zero in the bag. Thunder hammer wasnt someone here making a conversion kit for the 1/55 or something IIRC.

I recently did a 1/55 Miria (I Know it`s a toy) As far as pannel lines werre concerned I used black with a tiny bit of brown in it. I havent dirtied it up as yet as it a toy so realisum is a bit out of the window anyway. On the subject of red paint. I first used a grey plastic primer and painted my Nissan 539 red onto it. Looked good and I was pleased. Then when I ran out of Grey primer and the shop didnt have any I used White primer. OMG how much brighter is the Red when laying on white primer. This harkens back to the days when I used to race 1/10 RC in the Tamiya Eurocup. On the clear lexan body shells we used to back the paint in eaither white, Silver or black to make the paint eaither stand out or dull off, depending on the colour or what you wanted to achive. I had to spend ages repainting all the bits to match. I now stick to one primer colour no matter what.

Well there are enough people here who have the skills. So maybe we will see some oneday ? I hope so.

Looking good so far. The whole paint and pannel lines is very much a personal thing, as already stated in previous posts. Just do what you feel comfortable doing and in time you will modify the way you do it as you find better ways of doing the various bits. Modeling is a learning process that you never quite master. It's a long but enjoyable road from Slap it togther modler to masterclass modler.

Nice So when are you gonna get the Star Destroyer to go with it ? You`d probably be able to fly it to work I recon it would be nearly 10m long.

Hey they shoulda made the head swapping an option. Should do a Roy head and a Misa head, wait if you did a Roy head you`d need to do a VF1-S head too. AS he only really loves his Valk.

Doing this made the arm unable to turn in the forearm so I extended it by cutting off the swivel at the end and placing a peice of 2mm styrene in and reattaching the swivel using another spare screw. Then the finnished bit With that done I moved onto the forearms as they are not quite anime correct they are too short. Firts I put in pannels to the hand ends as I ntend to use some after market hands to replace the originals. As I had planned to extend thefore arms to make then right, I marked up and started to cut and file. This is the first area I missed up partly my lousy cutting and the fact that I didnt let the glue go off before messing arround with it. So I have junked this part and will redo it properly. Next I added a filler to the inner part of the fore arm to hide the slide mechanisum and help strenghten the extension. You may be able to see that I slightly mess it up again (rule 1 NEVER work when you are tired) Gonna take it appart and put a thinner 1mm filler instead to help in the shape as there would be too much filling and sanding using the 2mm peice. I have looked at the head and come to the conclusion that The Bandai and bootleg heads kinda got it right in some bits so I will try and merge the two to make a correct one. Kinda like polishing a turd or making a slik purse out of a sows ear. Thats it for now

Checks for human sized cats in neighbourhood Whats next Captain Caveman revamped into a slightly hairy bussinessman who lives in a campervan and crime fights on his days off. Politically correct Tom & Jerry who dont fight or wack each other over the head with frying pans and smoke cigarettes. (oh wait the U.K already wants that one). You never know it may be good.... but I doubt it. Maybe they could actually think up a new ideas next time.

Is this an over kit or do you get a modified Vf0 with reactive armor built on to the parts. Sorry if this has been asked before. Just need to know If I need another Vf0 to put it onto.
