  1. If you’re not planning on painting a kit and you haven’t already bought this one, then you may want to wait for the Max Factory one. This one definitely needs some paint. At least all the parts that need to be white are white from what I remember. And even if you don’t want to get rid of the seams, use some cement since some parts are very loose fit
  2. As far as the battroid, the plans show the two different 1A heads, so I have a feeling that as long as these sell they will probably get to those other types down the line. They did do some surprising variations with Dougram kits, so that gives me more hope than if Bandai were handling these
  3. They’re definitely in the works. I think a page or so back, there’s pictures that Max Factory has put out with plans for different attachments to make the battroid kit in any type or configuration from the show and film, with the exception of armor and a couple movie variants like the vt and ve types. I’d imagine they have similar plans for the fighter kit even though so far it’s been the same kit. There’s only so many times the same thing will make them money
  4. I think they’re stick to transforming items for the line, but as a consolation that could mean a variable Glaug
  5. It’s ok, they probably feel the same way whenever we cast some American for a movie that takes place in England and force them to do a bad British accent
  6. You never know. They could be worried about what happened with MEP. More than likely thousand that they found a formula that works for them. Pump out the same toy over and over with a new color or markings and say it’s a limited number and then increase the numbers based on demand.
  7. I think we’re getting near the end of a cycle where things were getting a little overly politically influenced, since many of those projects in tv and film failed. I’m still thinking some good entertainment is around the corner. As far as anime, it might be a little bit before this generation of things gets closer to what came before story wise, but the look most of the time will probably be more modern. I’m still holding out hope and if I’m not satisfied with anime, there’s other ways to be entertained.
  8. There’s more differences than what’s circled. Off the top of my head, there the rotating upper leg joint, the ball joint at the side armor, the joints at the body to do an an crunch, the joint at the connector for the shoulder to the body to allow more over body reach and no cockpit. There might be more that I’m forgetting at the moment.
  9. Preorder is up for Max/ Kakizaki VF-1. Basically the same as before with A and S head parts and includes both stickers and water slide decals for Max’s A and S as well as Kakizaki’s A type. Really glad they’re including water slides in their releases now.
  10. I’d say stay away from slice of life. And as far as sports, the only one I liked has been megalo box.
  11. I’m not as hopeless as I was a few years back. Anime may have changed, but I do have hope that it can be good again. I felt that way about music in the 90’s. The grunge thing got overdone, rap was just reusing great rock songs of the past and tried passing it off as a new song and I had a hard time getting to tolerate NU metal. The early 2000’s I started finding bands I liked again and I think that’s what gives me hope that other mediums can be good again
  12. Honestly I never thought about it before. I don’t know why I did now
  13. Starting up….getting there………Big O
  14. That’s some old school manly anime. Maybe too male fantasy at times, but even then super fun. It’s like the attitude of James Bond blended with Magnum P.I. In space. Not the type of show that could be made nowadays and easily accepted stateside
  15. I do love that one and really hope for more. The kits are fun as well. It is a rarity though and very few shows these days have characters in war that aren’t just children weighing the struggle of going to class or fighting a battle
  16. I can’t really say anime is dead, just not for me anymore. It’s a lot of rehashed dialogue and stories for the most part. The other thing is the shift away from Sci fi and just being boring stuck in a video game again. The other issue is that when some start off cool, they lose focus towards the last third. I liked gundam Unicorn and even IBO, but they get so awkward at the end. Honestly unicorn had the worst ending of any gundam I’ve ever seen. It basically took a dump on everything by saying everyone was fighting over a stupid message and that’s what this complicated treasure hunt was for. I’m worried that I won’t like how attack on titan ends. I still want to watch, but ever since it felt like the last seasons have kinda undone what made the main character like able. And then there’s shows that are super pretty like Violet Evergarden, but are so intolerable and boring. the worst thing is the suicidal attitudes of many characters. The just let me die or kill me please speaches are too cringy. I try to watch Spy x Family and it’s the comedy isn’t very funny and the kids stuff is too childish even though moments try to be more hardcore with action, things just don’t work together. It’s a good premise, but just isn’t with it. I never thought I’d miss space bounty hunter shows so much.
  17. The premise is kinda odd. Who posts a security guard inside an abandoned animatronic themed restaurant. At best a post like that might have a guard in the parking lot. At least with the Nicholas Cage version, he was hired to clean the place up, and honestly the guy was doing a pretty good job of it. Seriously that guy was super dedicated to his work
  18. I think the overall reviews will be pretty good judging by how many joints are in the basic kit. I’m still wondering if that side armor will pop off easy though. Most of the Votoms stuff I have either clips on the side or has a hinge joint. The Bandai hg kit has a thin hole for a ball joint
  19. He hasn’t been bad in every movie, I just don’t like his version of the Flash. It’s too annoying for me.
  20. Personally, I think the big problem is streaming. Why go to a movie that might be just ok and spend so much money, when you can see it easily at home. The movie has to be good to get people out of their homes, but if you know it’s only gonna be two or three months before it can be watched for an existing subscription price, then it makes it even tougher to get people to spend at the theater. I love the theater experience for a good movie. And honestly, with fewer and fewer people going I can understand why some theaters think raising prices is the way to go. That doesn’t mean I think it will work. Over saturation is also a major issue. When it’s only a couple big movies a year, then it’s easier for people to be excited even for smaller movies. But now we think of those smaller films as a non event and unfortunately just wait for streaming. I do believe in the theater being the best way for viewing, but if they want our interest, they need better writing and a bit of originality. Top Gun did great, even though it was just a sequel. But that movie felt different than what is out currently. It’s mostly a smaller story even though it has big effects and found a way to make a sequel without angering its fan base and the same could be done with just about any franchise. The super hero doesn’t need to always save the world, maybe just the neighborhood once in a while. The Batman saved his city and that’s what people wanted, he didn’t need to run around a multiverse of madness. Spend time writing a good story and base the film around that.
  21. Looks great, nice to hear that things went smoothly on those decals
