  1. I have a bunch of legacy kits on backorder at HLJ, expressly because they're old and/or OOP and/or otherwise unlikely to ever find their way overseas. This new policy kind of really frakking sucks, if it is as it says and it applies to them.
  2. Bandai's "Hobby Next Phase 2022 Spring," including HGAC Shenlong. https://bandai-hobby.net/site/nextphase2022spring/
  3. Strike ANIME? So does that mean they'll be going back to the chunky proportions of the original? Whoever sculpts their ANIME figures have been phenomenally consistently good about it, but after some 15-20 years of every physical rendition favoring a slimmer look, it'll be interesting to see the response to something that's more "on model," so to speak. EDIT: Also, what new Exia variant could possibly still be unmade at this point? They went so far as inventing a Repair 4 whole cloth(?) just to have an excuse to toy-ize it.
  4. Second Yellowstone, though I haven't seen it myself yet. But the director(?) alone makes me keen to see it, and it's gotten tons of critical praise.
  5. Lol. I don't remember ever having a D-Hell, though, hence why I finally bought one. (Or I guess not so finally, it seems. ) I'm committing (...for the moment...) to getting a complete Wing EW 1/100 set of the boy band and their upgrades, as well as the TGs... So many TGs. I decided on a whim to buy a Mercurius/Vayaete conversion kit, which requires a MG TG each, and right around the same time the TG Fluegel came out and I had to get two of those, too... and now I'm considering getting another two to convert to a Leo and Serpent... I am going to be absolutely sick of that kit by the time I finally work my way through all the suits based on it.
  6. Yep, got mine waiting to ship as well. Just need a couple more things to show up and then it'll be on its way. I can't wait. The Armored was a whole lot of fun, I imagine this will be as well. By the by, for me in the US of A, shipping prices seem to favor DHL on the low end (~$40-60 shipping) but lean back in EMS's favor sometimes dramatically as I add more and more items (~$75 EMS, ~$110!! DHL once I added both Regult kits, a MG Deathscythe Hell, HG 00 kit, some Kotobukiya MSG kits, and other tools). So it seems like shipping services are returning somewhat to their pre-pandemic hierarchy. Just wish the prices would start to ease downward, too.
  7. I'm curious to hear your impression, if it's any more favorable than the general consensus.
  8. I get it, I just don't understand what's problematic or unnatural about it. I suppose it's just so common to me that I've sort of become numb to it. One way to "fix" it is to change up the posing of the arm so that the elbow is protruding away from the body a bit. That should free up some space that the handle can drop into. You'll want to manipulate the wrist as well, such that it's in line with the shoulder in whichever direction you want the gun to be pointing. Really, though, Bandai should be including specialized hands specifically for that gun.
  9. I'm not sure what the issue here is. That's just a natural consequence of the gun's handle design. Apparently the 31AX has a new hand angled specifically for holding this gun? Is that the case or no? If Bandai were smart they would have included one, but if their hobby division is anything to go by, then they'll be as cheap as possible and you'll just have to deal with it.
  10. Because the movie needs there to be that many. It literally did not give it any more thought than that. Remember when the first movie went into exhaustive detail about extracting broken dinosaur DNA and splicing it together with reptilian genes, then chemically manipulating the gestation in order to control the population numbers? Good times.
  11. I do, too. It seems to be more and more common with these big Japanese corporations, though, and I don't know why. Square Enix's FF14 dev team doesn't have any cool name, it's just "Square Enix Business Division 5." Konami is similar. Apparently Bamco is the same. I hope Project Aces isn't next to go...
  12. This happens every year. People think this or that announcement is a joke, but April 1 just happens to also be the start of the Japanese (or at least a bunch of Japanese companies') fiscal new year.
  13. And once again, I can't figure out the head. Looks like... 31A head? I don't remember 31A having those cheek pieces. E-type head? Gahhhhhh.... EDIT: Colors seem really out of character. I would've expected red and gold, or at least pink.
  14. Oh, I didn't know we had a dedicated FM thread. Nice. Did the Direct mention if they were ports of the PS1(?) originals, or remasters, or full-on remakes? Incidentally, I was getting ready to sell my Structure Arts Vol. 1 1/72 kits. Still prepping pics and organizing a FS thread, but if anyone wants a set, lemme know. I've got 2x complete sets of 4 kits, one set snapped together, one set unbuilt. Haven't considered price yet, feel free to PM me an offer.
  15. Watch them actually be PS4/X1 remasters and the Switch early releases are cloud-based like the KH games. Because that's working out really well.
  16. I have a vague recollection of what you said, so my response might not be on point, but I found both of Mother's "outfits" so to speak to feel adequately artificial and uncanny. You might call it physical perfection compared to her anemic form or however you put it, but I find that comparison ironic since it's very much a living statue-esque look, in its own way just as sterile a representation of the human form as her "mother" look. Not that I disagree, I think it looks great, too.

    Macross figures

Maybe. If it's the same as this: ...then yes. If not, no, and now I'm triple excited. A new Minmay AND a new Ranka AND another new Ranka AND a new Sheryl? Come oooooon, roll the dice, let's get that Mirage announcement!
  18. In a good way. In all seriousness, though, a lot about the Mother character had me making comparisons to Rei Ayanami. She checks a lot of the same uncanny valley checkmarks. It's one of the highlights in a story that otherwise hasn't sucked me in that much yet. I'll give it another episode or two, maybe it'll grow on me.
  19. Have been quietly bingeing The Expanse. Quite good, glad to have followed y'all's recc's. Also watched the first episode of Raised by Wolves tonight. My god that bodysuit is dangerous... but otherwise I struggled to keep focused. Whoever recc'ed it, boo on you!

    Arcadia VF-5000G

It's the size of a VF-1? Really? It certainly fills out...

    Macross figures

Same here. I'm amazed there haven't been more figures for such a milestone character... or maybe I'm just overstating her influence on the industry. I've been wanting to get a quality figure ever since that wonky Arcadia figure was announced - wasn't it super expensive, too? - so I'm happy to see this announced. And the new Ranka figure, too, I feel like everyone's ignoring it here.
  22. Maybe Ace Combat 7's just on my mind, but I half-suspect that's just a balloon plane for the sake of counter-espionage.
  23. Link for the above-mentioned Guntank MP: https://p-bandai.com/us/item/N2612413001001
  24. Am I just crazy, or are the noses a bit short and stubby? Maybe the lack of the rest of the airframe just throws it off, but I could swear these should be longer than they are.
  25. @pengbuzzI've been meaning to ask, what were you attempting to do with that Cat's Eye? Was it like a "heat warp" effect on the hull? Or...? ...or now that I look again, is it a duct tape model? What is the backstory of this build!?!? I am INFINITELY fascinated.
