  1. I never reviewed a bunch of VF-25 renewal accessories. I'm sure someone will beat me to it since I'm about to go on vacation but when I come back I'll pull everything out and take a few pics of the change. They just took the same mechanism used for the armor parts and did it on the super parts but since the 25F and 25S super parts came out before the 25F and 25S armored parts, those ones have a flimsier connection.
  2. I would think HMR treatment would be more likely than DX3.0.
  3. You are correct, after the VF-25F and 25S super parts, the hip armor was revised so that you have to pop out the compressor cover and it pegs in.
  4. Selling is easy but one lesson I've learned is to not put too many things up at once. I had one sale where I screwed up the pms royally and pissed a couple people off. If you decide to sale, I'd say list like 5 items at a time and make sure you have access to boxes as shipping materials ahead of time. Having a scale helps for calculating shipping costs. If people want to pay with Paypal goods payments, make sure you include insurance costs in the shipping estimate and buy the insurance. If you don't have a premium PayPal account, I think you can only get $500 out a month.

    1/1800 SDF-1?

Oh, on my phone that just looked like a link to the other site. Well done then!
  6. To me, it just looks like a colder white. Under normal lighting it looks a little brighter. This is opposed to the VF1J with GBP which has hints of pink under normal light.

Forum foul! You have to provide a link when poopooing a new thread.
  8. It needs the HMR treatment for all the variants and other vehicles... that'd be cool. I can't imagine paying $200 for an Orguss, just not that big a fan of the mechs, but I'd jump on something in the $80-$100 range.
  9. A show 'inspired by shows like Cowboy Bebop' would sound neat... live action CB sounds awful. It's like people who keep trying to make Robotech shows... just do something original.
  10. I've quit collecting other things, like baseball cards when I was little. I've also quit other hobbies like hotrodding cars. I've quit smoking cigarettes. I've quit a few vicious ladies. I think most people who quit collecting will also quit this site. I don't peruse car parts stores or stay up on the breaking news like I used to and actively avoid some of the other things I've quit. In the end, there may be external catalysts, but I think it just comes to either a change by necessity or replacement... some new passion comes along.

But I want it NOW! /Varuca
  12. The point remains, WonderFest most likely means the Japanese Wonder Festival on this forum and is not incorrect since it is frequently called "WonderFest" the world round. If you want to speak about the Kentucky event, you need to specify. This is not unexpected since the folks in Kentucky used a nickname of a different event for their event. It'd be like you starting a South Dakota Comic Convention and calling it Comic Con and then being upset that people didn't specify the San Diego event.
  13. I'd say the problem with the argument is the perception that 1) people who want non-transforming fighters (or other mechs) will buy models (which would be better than a $25 toy) and 2) Yamato tried the GnU Dou line and failed spectacularly. The lesson learned from Yamato's failure seems to be that there's a super premium niche for Macross toys and models and the model makers have the rest. Bandai seems to feel similarly since they've consistently gone very premium on the HMR line (like with the destroids) rather than trying to make a budget version to try to increase sales volumes. You see the same phenomenon with their DX pricing. It appears there is very little price elasticity of demand so manufacturers are much better off going for margin than volume. This could also be seen as an argument for why knock offs won't be too bad for the hobby. If most Macross collectors have the disposable funds to buy new releases and have been trained to stop waiting for Black Friday sales, then knock-offs will hurt secondary market sales which doesn't bother manufacturers very much.
  14. So what is a less expensive but desired item?
  15. Is this one easy to get? The price appears to be shooting UP.

  17. I'll bite on 12+ assuming it shows up at the normal retailers at a decent price. I'm guessing Sunstreaker's price reflects lower repaint abilities.
  18. The licensee fee is probably a function of demand. Arcadia, Bandai, and who knows who else probably bid it up. As KOs come in to play they may be less willing to do that so the cost should drop organically. As for wider distribution, all these manufacturers are deathly scared of duds so they'd rather underestimate demand and then have to do a reissue a year later than flood the market with a stinker. That's a benefit to being a KO, someone else takes the risk of laying an egg and then you get to just produce the successful toys.

    My review is up!
  20. Forgive my ignorance, what's an Atlas? I bought that model in the hopes some day I would have time to do it... looks great.
  21. Gull wing doors and the ability to make it a regular Lambo without huge engine kibble... so sold... but waiting on NY. up at NY 8,280... good price. https://www.nippon-yasan.com/figures/21228-transformers-masterpiece-mp39-sunstreaker.html

I'm measuring the Spartan at 13.5CM (to the top of the shoulder). That makes him 1/84 scale. Anyone come up with a smaller measurement or does that sound about right? (Comparatively, the HMR VF-1 is 1/89 scale)
