  1. The previous release of the YF-19 Super Parts included Yang as a second pilot as well as a second seat for the toy. How are the chances that this feature will be on the new YF-19 from the get-go?
  2. So it seems like we are getting the same stand that came with the VF-171 Valkyries. That is a bummer I really would liked to get a Macross Galaxy logo stand (and one with a NUNS logo on it). Also the darker maroon stripe on the hip-thingys is still missing. I like the pictures so far but I'm hoping that the gun on the released toy can stay better together than the one in the images. I guess thats a QC issue. I know I sound somewhat unsatisfied but I still like the toy and other than the unstable gun (something I disliked on the original toy as well) they are just nitpicks. I'm definitely looking forward to August
  3. Seeing how popular hero and how unpopular CF units are in Japan why would Bandai announce this before the VF-25S reissue?
  4. If they release the Super Parts for the CF version will Bandai include all the parts or only the leg armor and the booster like seen ins some shots in the show. Don't know if I will buy this one. I think I cannot justify another VF-25 when I already have 4 in my collection especially since this will look almost the same as the VF-25G. Then again I preordered the Super Parts for Michael and Luca so I wont have a plain VF-25 in my collection but then if they release the Super Parts for the VF-25A I think they would pretty neat but then I don't have a plain VF-25 anymore.... *insert vicious circle here* ..the VF-25 line from Bandai quickly becomes the VF-1 Line from Yamato/Arcadia. I guess the YF-25 Prophecy will be next right?
  5. OMG. I guess Graham will buy the living hell out of this variant. Seems like Bandai doesn't want to show us the head in all its glory since it is similar but not identical to the VF-25G head if my memory serves me correctly. Also it seems like this is unit 27 does we know anything about who the plane belongs to? If this is official I wonder why Bandai would make this toy since neither the VF-171CF nor the RVF-25 seems to sell very well. On the other hand this would indicate that those two Valkyries sold well and Bandai ramped up their production runs. Or they just interpret their numbers wrong.
  6. That is a cool setup Benson! I will try to achieve something similar for myself if Arcadia decides to reissue/redo all their toys since I'm only having a (incomplete) Macross 7 and Frontier collection.
  7. Thank you that is nice to hear. On the other hand that means that I have to be extra careful transforming it so that the head antennas don't get caught and break. That leaves my VF-25F and the YF-29 as the two Frontier Valkyries that have soft head lasers that will probably get a terrible yellow tint that wont match the yellow tint on the mech itself. [edit: ] With the knife connector piece you mean the spacer that plugs into the shield so it can connect to the arm without interfering with the ELINT-fin right? I just realized there was a third extra piece myself. I'm not happy about it but I guess there was now easy way to achieve this without some major redesign of the parts. Does this part can stay attached in Fighter-Mode without looking terribly wrong and allowing the fin to swing backwards all the way? I have to say the RVF-25 seems to be the weakest of the gang since it as so many trade-offs to get everything working. I wonder if Bandai know from the beginning that the ELINT design would cause problems and opted for the cheapest way out or if the designed the Renewals only with the F and S in mind not knowing if they would sell enough to make a G and ELINT version. The gun connector device on the VF-25G works so well so why not include something fancy on the RVF-25. This is not a deal breaker in any way since I planned to leave the gun-pod in the box from the beginning and I can live with the shield connector bit if it can stay on the Valkyrie in ever mode but it leaves me a bit worried about the Super VF-27 thinking about all the compromises they have to make to get the original design to work with all the improvements on the Renewals and be able to wear the Super Parts at the same time. Only time will tell I guess.
  8. That is the only responsible way to do it. Since my RVF-25 shipped this week does can someone tell me what material the "head lasers" (on the RVF-25 they are probably antennas) are mode of. And if they are made out of PVC did Bandai include some hard plastic ones? Can't wait for mine so I can swoosh around with my Skull Squadron.
  9. Seems like the Quarter from the most recent HLJ sale.
  10. The VF-19S/F included? I have to check mine when I'm at home.
  11. Looking at the CAD pictures it seems like the gun-pod is slightly enlarged and the gap between the nose cone and the chest is still there. So what other changes can we expect from V3 of the YF-21. The obvious suspects are the improvements from the VF-19 line minus the ankles (I do think that the YF-/VF-19 has a good looking Gerwalk-Mode if you can get the legs far enough to the front of the plane). More line-art accuracy without the gullet seems to be an easy choice but other than that I can't think of anything else. Also the image shows the Fighter-Mode of the Valkyrie with closed intake covers. Does that mean that the covers will also be not removable. I'm eagerly awaiting more information about this beauty form Arcadia.
  12. I think a reissue of the YF-21 would be nice maybe with updated Super Parts since I don't see as many ways to improve the design (unlike the YF-19). Maybe integrating a heat shield (I can't image a feasible way for doing so) and hiding the legs with even more panels. I think the YF-21/VF-22 is a stellar design. The same goes for the VF-11B. So hopefully we see some reissues of these two Valkyries when they release the YF-19 V3.
  13. That's definitely awesome. I'm starting to look for a new job in 2014 to afford one of these. I'm also very interested what Arcadia does with the Plus license now. Is a V2 YF-21/VF-11B possible. Or a re release of the VF-11B and the YF-21. Or even the ghost drone that the YF-21 fought in the movie/OVA.
  14. Can you detach the ELINT-fin from the plane?
  15. Still no updates from NY but about the RVF-25 but I'm not in a hurry. Just got the notification that a packages passed the customs after sitting their for 10 days so I have something to distract me while I'm waiting for an update from NY. Yeah the green intakes are ugly as hell and I'm also not a fan of the die-cast intakes. The design of the Frontier Valkyries has so many sharp edges that can't be molded in metal so those parts really stick out. Toys made out of metal are cool stuff but I think that it only works well on either specific designs (like the SOC Mazinger or the PM C-3PO) or as structural metal where plastic is too weak. Although metal ball-joints seem to be problematic too. Well it is possible to print metal out of a metal powder (Shapeways can do that) but the process is different from the plastic 3D printer that are being sold for use at home. I'm not sure you can adopt that method for materials that have a different characteristic than plastic (melts at lower temperatures as metal, is semifluid, etc.) and the metal powder approach is expensive (at the moment) and needs more knowledge than how to plug a device into an USB-port. I think something will come up in the future (dare I say Replicator) but it will take some time. Thought of the day: you have to recognize a troll if you see one.
  16. Yeah I thought that much. I will just wait and see.
  17. Excellent pictures! I have to say that the intakes get worse and worse with every release. Paint them already Bandai!
  18. Meh I preordered the Super Parts for Luca and Michael.... I thought maybe the Tornado Parts for the VF-25G might never be made or only available as a bundle (not buying a second VF-25G!!!) just like last time. Now feeling the urge to buy a set of Armored Parts for my Alto since I now have three Super Messiahs on the shelf. Are there any news around about a reissue of the Super and Armor Parts for the VF-25F since a reissue is on the way?
  19. My order is also in the Preparation in Progress. The mail arrived on Friday so I'm not to worried that nothing happened over the weekend.
  20. Well this is slightly off topic (only slightly!!!) and its weird that a toy collector asks this question but you collected shoes? Did you wear them of do you display them in glass cabinets like I do with my toys. I don't ask where the fun is to collect shoes because I always have to answer this question regarding my toys. On topic: I think the question is if the toy is worth the price when you preordered it. If the price falls later you have always the peace of mind that the amount of money you spend was ok. I like the VF-171CF very much and the price I payed for it was worth it... ..at least that is what I'm telling myself.
  21. Meh about the attachment points. The strut that goes though the arms on the VF-25G works so well. The elint-fin seems to block the free space between the lower arms so maybe that was not an option. It is still a disappointment but Luca never had a gun-pod (there was this one episode where he was rescued by Alto but that one could be floating inside the Vajra for ages ) so I will display him without the pod. Can the attachment parts be stored in the other two modes somewhere on the Valkyrie or are they extra parts that float around and gone missing after a while?
  22. They are sold out? Is Tamashii limiting the number of preorders for those or are they still available on the Tamashii website?
  23. I'm sure Bandai noticed that many people would skip the Armor Parts for Luca (Armored VF-25S, Super VF-25F, Tornado VF-25G, plain RVF-25). Now we have the extra "incentive" to buy the super Parts since Luca needs to have his Nanase-Ghost. I also don't want the Super Parts for Luca and I don'T want three drones I just need one. Damn you Bandai
  24. Since I can't see Dark_Ghosts images can someone tell me if the crotch piece is now cast in two different colors? On XTLs image the area is rather nebulous.
  25. To Quarter or not to Quarter that is the question. To bad the HLJ warehouse holds the items for only 60 days. Otherwise I would be terribly tempted to buy the Quarter knowing that the chances of Bandai reissuing or even updating are near null.
