  1. Before everyone is turning this idea down maybe we should ask first how much the budget for this project would be. If he wants to spend a Million Dollars (insert Dr. Evil meme here) on the Daedalus then he's got other options then say spending 100K, 10K 1K bucks on it. While I'm writing this a 1/60 launch deck from the Macross Quarter would be wicked cool to display my Renewals on it.
  2. Yamato released all color variants of the VF-1 (sans the Alaska Base one) so I'm not sure if I buy that logic since Kakizakis VF-1 is one of the "hero" Valkyries. I think Arcadia will release Kakizakis VF-1A from DYRL? after the VF-1S Max (or after that they release the VF-1A Hikaru and VF-1A Max Custom first ) but I assume they will release it before any Low-Viz or CF variants. It seems all Arcadia releases been build for order ones so they will not flood the market if this is true. So no Arcadia clearance sales anymore.
  3. I thought someone on this message board posted that Arcaida was able to secure all the molds from the 1/60 VF-1 V2 onwards. If this is true then the should have the VF-19 molds. I think the next project will be the Macross Zero line. A VF-1S/A/D maybe with the Armor/Drone and the SV-51.
  4. Well then I should look for a DYRL? VF-1A Kakizaki Custom.... or should I wait for a re-release by Arcadia? Hm.....
  5. Not sure if you have the same problem as I have. First as MacrossJunkie said leave the connector piece that plugs into the forearm in the box. Then open the Beam Gunpod and flip up the c-shaped hook and close the gun again (important!). With the closed gun the hook cannot retract anymore and is locked into place. Then you can slot the hook into the crotch plate in the same slot where the support strut for Gerwalk-Mode connects. It is a little bit hard to do but that way I could attach the Gunpod.
  6. I finally had the time to fiddle with my VF-27. I didn't had a V1 VF-27 so I really love this one since it is 100% new for me. I love the color scheme especially the maroon and the pink. I also do not miss the surface detail. The plane looks slick just as one would expect from a more high-tech Valkyrie like the 27. What I don't like is that I have a hard time to attach the Super Parts in Fighter-Mode. The legs and the arms just won't work together. The Gerwalk-joint does not have a defined position for the Super Lucifer. Also the Beam-Gunpod can only be attached closed to the plane since it would collapse when the gun is open but that is a nitpick. Also the shield arm (and the shield) does not seem to work together very well with the rifle. Last but not least I don't like the missing attachment point on the right forearm because I like to be able to switch the shield from one arm to the other even if it is not canon. I have one question. The extra piece for the gun attachment in Fighter-Mode on mine has a dark gray color. In the instruction booklet this part is a clear green piece. Was this color only a test shot and all the produced units have the gray piece?
  7. I really hope they sell the VF-25G Tornado Parts separately. Also is there any line-art available for the Tornado Parts? I think the parts of the V1 toys looks a little bit to bulky (especially the wings). Is this true to the line-art? Since I didn't watched the first Frontier movie can someone tell me where to get some more Information on the Tornado Messiah. I have no idea why these parts have been developed for the movie and why they don't use the Super/Armor Parts form the tv-show other then introduce something new for the movie.
  8. I'm sure the canopy will stay that way since it is that color in the game. The green canopy on the YF-29 was just beautiful but I like the purple also. Maybe we get green canopies down the road.
  9. I would love to see some of designs of the 1/72 Bandai kit in a 1/60 VF-1 toy. Such as the leg delivery system, the ball-joint in the hip and also the movable panels to allow for more foot movement. I don't see the perfect transformation concept invalidated when you have the legs attached at all times to the main fuselage of the plane. But Bandai should not be the company that makes this toy.
  10. I'm not sure that I really want a VF-1 1/60th scale from Bandai. As far as my understanding of Japanese toy licenses goes I think the only way for Bandai to make a VF-1 in roughly that scale (and the VF-25s are roughly 1/60 right?) would be to take away the license from Arcadia due to making Big West a better offering. The VF-1s seem to be the cash-cow for Arcadia hence they are re-releasing them to acquire Money for further products. So if Arcadia loses the license I don't think they would stay in the Macross business any longer which would be terrible for us collectors. Bandai is such a huge company I don't think they care if they have one more toy line or not. For Arcaida (a rather small company) however the loss of the license could easily be crucial to their business. So I have to agree with Graham here because I think the VF-1 is in good hands right now and Bandai should bring us the YF-30 Chronos. The YF-24 could be cool too but I'm not sure I need a another transformation scheme like this and on M3 there is no further line-art other then the Fighter-Mode so I'm not sure if I really like the rest of the plane.
  11. I think a bundle is unlikely given Bandais release of the VF-25F.
  12. But doesn't that lead to problems with the release of YF-19 toys these fan-made schemes. On a "real" (i.e. in the Macross universe) YF-19 the crotch plate could be colored in different color while the underside of the plane in Fighter-Mode has still a seamless paint-job. With the Arcaida approach of the transformation scheme every YF-19 with a colored crotch plate will not have this seamless paint-job that would be correct canonically since the crotch plate would stick out like a sore thumb.
  13. So the reissue announcement of the VF-25S happens in the next few days right? Hope you got it and that you receive a flawless copy. I'm not sure if I'm glad or sad that I missed the BBTS sale. Sad because after I ordered the Super Parts for Lucas and Michails Valkyries I really wanted a VF-25F Armored Messiah. Glad because I just ordered something expensive just the night before the sale. Maybe we will see a rerelease of the Armored and Super Parts but I doubt it.
  14. I'm sure this has to be the reason now I scold myself for buying one. My thoughts where that at some point it must be more expensive to mod the old molds and think of ways to incorporate the new features, then to make a complete new one. Since the VF-25/27 share the same basic design and transformation creating a true VF-27 Renewal should be relatively easy since all the engineering is already in place.
  15. If this is true then why didn't Bandai opted for a full renewal. It must be difficult to retrofit all the molds so that everything fits properly. Will pick mine up on Saturday so I'm super excited.
  16. Gaps here, here and here *points at different points of the schematics on the desk*. I was just trying to find reasons why Arcadia can raise the MSRP on the Super & Strike Parts. The VF-1S comes with waterslide decals, option parts and a stand so I figured something similar would be the case for the add-on parts.
  17. I'm sure in the Arcadia reissue of the Super & Strike Parts will be waterslide decals, option parts (to make them look less gap-tastic) and a stand (so that they look like they're stored in the armory when they are not displayed on the toy) included. That will justify the 30% MSRP increase. Actually the more I think about this an included stand would be pretty nice. I always wanted the Armored Parts for the VF-25F but then the Super Parts have to go into storage or I have to sell them.
  18. http://www.hkcollectibles.com Specifically the Kai: http://www.hkcollectibles.com/macross-robotech/6958-vf-19-fire-valkyrie-basara-nekki.html Don't be shocked by the prices. Those are Hong Kong Dollars. You find a conversion into other currencies on the top right of the site. Happy collecting.
  19. Thank you for the quick replies. I think it will be pretty stable but I remember a video review of the V1 Armored Messiah that slipped from its stand during the review so I'm cautious about the V2 especially since it is Ozmas plane. And I should specified that the question was aimed at the Fighter-Mode. In addition the display place is not in a cabinet so if it gets windy in my flat the wind might get a grip onto the Valkyrie and shake it a little bit.
  20. I was wondering how stable the stand for the VF-25S Armored Messiah really is. I'm planning to display it on a high spot and fear that the Valkyrie might slip from its stand and fall down and shatter into thousand pieces. The stand seems to be pegged in really well but better save than sorry I guess.
  21. I always thought that NY shipping rates where higher then other once. Maybe that is the reason why. Let the customers pay higher shipping rates upfront and in 90 percent of all shipments they make a profit and in the other 10 percents they make a loss but overall it a good deal for the shop. A highly speculative though and I have to admit that I've never compared shipping rates because most of the time NY was the only place where you could secure the Renewal Valkyries which are the focal point of my collection.
  22. Well we will see how widely Arcadia releases will be available after they issue the DYRL? VF-1S Roy Fokker Custom. The 30th VF-1J can be a pretty limited run. It also could be that Arcadia goes for a built to order strategy with their Macross releases. So to be safe I would say that you should preorder a YF-19 as soon as possible with a trustworthy shop that allows for easy cancellation if you are willing to purchase one. Just don't over due it because you might get a bad reputation with that shop. If something happens down the line and you can't afford the toy then you still be able to cancel it. As a side note I can imagine that one of the problems that Yamato had was that people never bought their toys at the release date but waited until they where available through a sale which was almost certain at some point. I'm guilty of this behavior myself (even if I bought all my Yamato Valkyries after the rumors of the bankruptcy) so with the Arcadia releases I make sure to preorder them in advance as I think that the toys are well worth the asking price.
