  1. I guess it will be something between image 2 and 3. I assume that the 30th anniversary logo will be printed on because there is a similar logo on the arms that is show on the underside of the plane. If those logos would be decals they might be damaged to easily during transformation and posing.
  2. The MSRP of the Alto and Ozma Super Parts was 4725 Yen. I assume a similar price for Michaels Super Parts. The price could vary if Bandai decides to pack some additional items into the package such as the drones that come with Lucas Super Parts (such as the Folddildo or the Galia-4 speakers). Since you have to go through a middle man to get those parts (because the Tamashii Web Shop only ships to Japanese addresses) you have to add someone between 10% to 15% as a fee. The price should stay the same through the preorder period because they are made to order so Tamashii will produce as much units as the get preorders in. After release the price will rise. The VF-171EX Alto Custom Super Parts was released in December 2012 at 5040 Yen and is now almost 6 month after release at 7880 Yen (at NY) which is an increase of 56% if my quick math is correct.
  3. Sometimes you have to envy the people who collect Valkyries because they look cool and don't know anything about the Macross universe.
  4. PTP(B)D rolls right off the tongue right?
  5. Thanks! I did the same with mine (loosen the screw) but already saw a crack in the "U" of the "NUNS" marking. Could be from yanking the shoulder pauldron into the part but it looks like a stress crack. It's definitely as bad as the cracked upper triangle piece but still.... Maybe some replacement shoulder bits come with the Super Parts. Someone should contact Bandai and suggest that.
  6. Because they envy Luca. The ELINT plane rounds up the squad of manly man rather nicely I think but I guess one has to be the odd "man" out. That he has the same colors than (DYRL?) Kakizaki doesn't help I guess. I Hope the Renewal version doesn't come in two different shades of green plastic that should have the same color like the V1 toy.
  7. Getting slightly offtopic here but there is nothing that a child cannot destroy NOTHING! If I couldn't destroy them by hand or with tools such as a hammer of scissors I cut my toys with a small blow torch.
  8. No Bandai will only replace the whole unit. Plus the chances are high that you have to pay shipping it back to your toy dealer if you imported it from Japan. In addition the shop you got it from might only be able to compensate you what you payed for the toy if replacement units aren't available. As for the small part. Anime52k8 posted a bunch of images in the VF-171EX Nightmare Plus Alto Custom thread showing disassembled parts of the toy. Maybe you're able to find that piece there. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=36479&p=1030393 [edit:] Meanwhile I'm praying that the shoulder bits of my CF does not disintegrate until there is some kind of fix available.

    VF-1 Plush toy

I think the Regult is filling a hot-tub with water.
  10. Yes they are the triangle cover parts between the chest and the shoulder pauldrons. In the thread someone said that the shoulder joint is to thick so it applies to much pressure onto the housing causing the upper black triangle pieces (the one with the NUNS marking) to crack. I couldn't check the thread recently so better see for yourself if I got everything right. It's The Macross Thread in the Toyark sub-forum of TFW2005.com
  11. Having the Super Parts in hand I have to say that the white Skull & Crossbones are not that terrible because you can seem them on the off-white of the fuselage well enough.... ...but really Bandai why even bother? Just put them on the tail fins like the VF-1. Wouldn't cost much since you had the stencil and produced and payed for the color. Why not put them somewhere it would make sense? I would be good with the white SMS marking on the wing because surely the extra black paint and stencil would've caused a Bandai bankruptcy and you had so many leftover stencils and color from the Alto Custom so why even bother. And don't get me started with the missing color on the stand *shakes fist in anger* Overall I really like the pitchfork look of the plane with the parts attached. The thrusters on the wings can still support the extra weight and don't droop. What really would have been the icing on the cake would be the ultraviolent *cough* tint from the promotion pictures. I know it is all Photoshop these days but they look so much nicer. The same goes for the VF-171CF. But that's nitpicking! I'm a happy camper. Can't wait for the RVF-25.
  12. The VF-25F reissue will probably solve this mystery. We all just have two wait and be patient. Two releases for rather obscure stuff (the YR-29 30th Anniversary reissue and the VF-171CF) can give no indication if something changed with the production numbers. The availability of those two toys just shows that the scalpers seem lost their gamble.
  13. After reading through the Macross thread on TFW I think the better question would be how much of your VF-171CF shoulders are cracked.
  14. Tenjin-sama demands white option parts!
  15. Some shops declare the value of an item lower than it actually is because that way customs will not charge a fee and tax for importing (this is not the case for the states iirc). Be aware if your country charges import tax&fee this is basically tax fraud. Discoloration between parts is a known issue on this toy and other toy lines. I think Yamato achieved an almost perfect match between painted and casted parts but not Bandai. Also the head lasers of the YF-29 are made out of PVC so they tend to yellow faster than other parts of the plane which is also normal. Be careful about exposing this toy to direct sunlight and bright/hot artificial light sources because that will cause the toy to yellow even faster. White, unpainted plastic has a tendency to yellow.
  16. I think you can try to fake the crotch armor on alto if you have a the Armor Parts as well. The Armor Parts have two crotch armor pieces both with a dark gray outlining and an inner panel. It might be possible to replace the inner panel of the crotch armor of the Armor Parts with the inner panel of the Super Parts. I can't try it myself because I don't have the Armor Parts for Alto and I don't want to encourage you to try it because you might break something.
  17. Since the nozzles of the Super Parts thrusters can extend outwards (IIRC) can someone who saw the second Macross Frontier movie point out at what point the should extend (Fighter-/Gerwalk-/Battroid-Mode)?
  18. I think someone mentioned that is said three ghosts are included. I'm really interested in the price for these parts.
  19. It will be pretty easy to order the Super Parts because it is a Tamashii Web Shop exclusive and will be made to order. In fact the preorder slot will stay open for several weeks.
  20. Sorry when I dig up this thread but my VF-22S Max Type arrived and the canopy does not want to stay open. I noticed that the canopy is hinged but even if I pull on the hinge the it won't stay open. Is there any kind of indication that the canopy is in the right position? I'm worried that I break the hinge if I try to pull it further. Thanks.
  21. I would gladly tell Bandai about this but I'm sure that a) someone from their core customer base (Japan) already pointed out the issue and b) they know about the issue and for some reason can't respond to it. As an example: I'm sure that Bandai is aware of the issue with the VF-171CF Super Parts (the armor panels have the wrong color). But do they plan to respond? (the sad truth) No I don't think so! However I'm interested in reliable data if the scratches are a common thing but for that we need the input of the MW base. Of course the poll won't help us because it doesn't tell how many Valkyries of what type (VF-25/YF-29/VF-171) the board member has and how many of them are scratched. Also we don't have any reference material of cases where the part is clearly defect. Looking at my own Bandai Valkyries I can't tell if the scratches on my toys are the ones where are talking here. So they could be there by default due to the molding process or come from playing with the toys or are factory defects.
  22. Can you at least provide some pictures of the damaged parts on your Bandai Valkries? I inspected mine and the VF-25s have almost no scratches that I would identify as a defect. Most of them seem like normal marks that come from the mold. My VF-171 has some scratches but that might be due to me transforming the toy. Nothing on my Valkyries seems anywhere near problematic QC. I have to admit that none of my Yamato Valkyries are having that kind of marks. In addition I think it is also difficult to compare them to other toys that are not planes. The wings of a plane (to an extend the fuselage) are large surfaces that might have different characteristics when being molded. I encountered the scratches only on the wings and no other parts. None of the markings are reducing the value of the toy in any way as far as I'm concerned but your mileage may vary.
  23. Does anyone know a price for the RVF-25 Super Parts and the three drones yet? I don't want the add-on parts but one drone for Lucas Messiah would be nice.
  24. Open it open it! and post pictures....
  25. I don't think that is the case. My assumption is that the market is saturated and all people who want a preorder have or the preorder slot is to expensive for them. Either way it is only a preorder we are talking about not the actual toy. So naturally only crazy people like us are paying a mark-up for a preorder slot.
