  1. Soul Spec did great things for Dragonar as well. And I too would be in line for a Zakaal!
  2. I wouldn't go so far as to say Hasbro stuff is crappy, but I think Mania King will surprise you. Despite the non-articulated wrists, Mania King makes a great Galvatron. It looks real nice with Classics Cyclonus and Scourge to boot.
  3. I knew we had a Lazyner thread around here somewhere. Anyways, the upcoming Bandai Soul Spec Layner Mk.II looks pretty dope. Unfortunately, it's also a Tamashii Web exclusive.
  4. Sweet, Astebreed is now available in English! Astebreed is a Japanese PC mech-based shooter that was initially found in Comiket, and fans of old school gameplay should definitely check it out:
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=vhJYt0UL7AQ I got nothing against Burton's take on Batman, but I believe there is still a special place in hell for Joel Schumacher. And I don't think this new version of Batman could get any worse than what Schumacher shat out.
  6. Nah, it's doesn't need Scourge, it's complete like Hyper Novae. Initially, I think the plans were for it to be just an add-on, but that has definitely changed.
  7. Maketoys' product catalog has some sweet pics of their Computron and Metroplex. Afterburner's alt mode is a TRON lightcycle...this is awesome.
  8. Some fighting games require "buffering" buttons (holding one button down as you transition to another). This is far easier to do with separate fingers assigned to a button as opposed to one thumb for say six buttons. Besides, having a dedicated stick at home will prepare you to take on all comers on an arcade cabinet. What I loved about Japanese arcades was that their fighting game cabinets had ports where you could plug in your favorite game pad from your console.
  9. The Saitek's D pad is fine. I admit I haven't used it for any new game so x input wasn't an issue. But for all emulators I have, it works perfectly. I've never had to use the FPS feature, but as the extra face buttons go, you don't have to use them, and I welcome the use of more buttons.
  10. It's all personal preference and whatever you're more comfortable with. Personally, using the analog stick is actually more cumbersome than a D pad since my thumb is stretched farther when using the stick as opposed to a D pad where my whole thumb is just resting on top of the pad. When using an arcade stick, you have a solid base, and the stick is much larger than a stumpy analog stick. This allows a variety of grips for your whole hand.
  11. Of all those games, I've only played Geometry Wars on the 360. It definitely satisfied my twitchy shooter cravings. As for gamepads, I've been using a Saitek P990 for the past 4 years or so, and it's still functioning very well. The D-pad feels smooth and and is perfect for all the emulated 2-D fighters. It can also switch from using the D-pad to the analog sticks at the push of a button.
  12. MP BB looks like an insta-buy. Wish I could say the same for MP UM. For now, the lower legs look real flimsy and hollow. Additionally, that flap hanging off his backside looks awful. I'm hoping it's just imperfections from a prototype.
  13. Ryu Hayabusa was soo squishy then. If a normal thug landed a full combo on him, it meant death. Yeah, that game was abnormally hard. My first one credit beating of a game came from this gem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=QOE5R1PWRMY Killer Zuntata tunes? Check. Fantabulous mecha design? Check. Awesome flying car with hidden modes that differ with each ending path? Check.
  14. I've heard they may even carry Robot Damashii figures down the line too. I'm guessing that anything Bluefin distributes for Bandai has the potential to show up inside a B&N. BTW, is there any news on when a MG Jesta Cannon will be coming out?
  15. A better experience would be to go to the local swap meet and get a working CRT TV and NES for less than $50. $500? Ridiculous. Congrats! I still haven't done it despite all the boring meetings I've been to. It's the perfect game to fight death by Powerpoint.
  16. Yeah, Zillion was a great game. I didn't know until years later it was a clone of Impossible Mission. As for DVDs, good luck. I had an easier time finding the toys. The fansub floating out there did a great job on the entire series though.
  17. Throwing Copper was one of the few albums I could listen to throughout without skipping tracks. Who wants some Japanese darkwave? Listening to the intro of this song for the first time brought out some Joy Division vibes: The singer is quite a hottie to boot.
  18. And time for another ludicrous cross-over: Evangelion meets Optimus.
  19. PG kits are in 1/60 scale, right? Holy crap this thing is gonna be huge. So will its price, I imagine.
  20. Finally got to see this; it's definitely one of the better Marvel movies so far. I loved the oomph that was given to Cap's strikes in the fight scenes. But man, Gary Shandling looks like a mess.
  21. If you just wanna fight it out with your favorite MS doubles team, then there's always Gundam Extreme Vs. Full Boost. It's kinda like a simplified Virtual On with Gundams instead of Virtuaroids.
  22. There WAS a SNES port of the Avengers game: Whether it was a good port is debatable...
