All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!
azrael replied to Keith's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The "duct tape"-mod was a mod that allowed a flashlight-beam of light to be used on all the weapons. This spawned from complaints that the scenery was so dark (looked awesome, but was too dark) and us players had to whip out the flashlight so often just to see where the frak we were all the time. So someone came up with the idea to make a mod that projected a beam of light (or highlighted certain textures from a cone-like shape) from the front of the weapons. This could be done since game was fairly modifiable at the time. Why was it called the "duct-tape"-mod? Because, of all things around this game, there's got to be a roll of duct tape that we can tape a flashlight to our weapons. Remember Aliens and Ripley's "field-modded" pulse rifle/flamethrower? Yeah, that was the idea. Yes, it messed with the atmosphere of the game but it was annoying enough to draw up support for this mod.- 6890 replies

Battlestar Galactica Discussion IV with Blood And Chrome
azrael replied to 505thAirborne's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It's been a year or 2 since Caprica ended? Yeah, it's not coming back. Cast and crew have moved on. It would be great if they released Blood & Chrome as a standalone TV movie but I'm not holding my breath.- 698 replies

Transformers: Age of Extinction - in theaters June 27, 2014
azrael replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm sick of directors that make expensive moves full of VFX/fill their movies with Bayexplosions, hires no name actors or models thinking they can act, or change a franchise so much that it becomes a laughable footnote but you don't see me complaining about it.- 950 replies

Looks like we'll be seeing this later rather than sooner. 'Elysium' lands August 2013, 'RoboCop' to 2014 - Sony gives summer slot to Blomkamp's sci-fi pic while 'RoboCop' moves to Feb. 7 Take it how you will.

Question: "What was your favorite Gundam from the Gundam AGE Series?" I admit, I did like AGE-2's design out of that whole lackluster series.

This case was just a simple similarly-named trademark dispute which is probably a dime-a-dozen (in most parts of the legal world), i.e., this happens probably too commonly. The plaintiff (Algotex) filed a dispute saying that the name "MACROSS" from the defendant (HG) infringes on their trademark "ACROSS" because the trademarks apply to clothing. But since the logos and names are fairly different, the trademarks don't infringe on each other. This has zero-influence on anything related to Macross. This is one of those filler cases that fill up the patent courts.

For that, you would need to have told the people at the 52nd All Japan Model Show to ASK Bandai about the color scheme on top of snapping pics of the prototype.

Trademark listings in this thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=36541 For up-to-date listings, I would suggest doing a lookup on the UK Trademark Office website: http://www.ipo.gov.uk/types/tm/t-os/t-find.htm

This is probably why I've been liking Chris Nolan's style of directing. He cuts it out before it makes its way to the shooting script so that he films only what's on the script and no extra that will be cut later. On that note, I actually appreciated what Whedon cut out those deleted scenes from The Avengers because in no way should those deleted scenes have been included in the final film since they either distracted from the overall film or just did not fit in at all with the team-dynamic of the movie. Now for one last set of deleted scenes: PROMETHEUS Deleted Scenes: Arrival Of The Engineers & Fifield Attacks -

Talk about a case of the runs...If true, it's probably best that she not leave the 3-second vicinity of a toilet nor do any wild shaking, i.e. dancing, for a week.
