  1. It will probably be the latter. But that would be up to Disney. So far, Disney isn't going after Sony, Fox, or Paramount regarding those cinematic licenses. Dark Horse is still slated to release a new series in 2013. Beyond 2014 is looking mighty 'iffy at this point. Whatever ongoings DH has left might start ending their run next year.
  2. http://www.forbes.com/sites/carolpinchefsky/2012/10/30/lucas-gives-up-star-wars-to-disney-episode-vii-to-be-released-in-2015/ 'Probably should have seen this coming when Kathleen Kennedy came on board back in May/June of this year. Kathleen Kennedy Joins George Lucas as Co-Chairman of Lucasfilm (June 1, 2012) George Lucas Says He is Ready to Retire, Make 'Hobby' Films (May 31, 2012) Edit: And here's a thought from a friend, Star Wars Episode 7 - A Michael Bay film.
  3. He could try converting to a PDF. That should handle the character issue. Or at least it should.
  4. The T's were crossed and the I's were doted with Tatsunoko. Their licensing was with HG as an entity, not Agrama. Even if Tatsunoko pulled out, it doesn't change the fact that Tatsunoko owns what it owns. We don't know what Agrama's share of the $12.9-million fine among the 11 others who are part of the indictment is. It could be very big or very small. As for the 3-year jail sentence, that goes to extradition. Both could go to appeals which would ending up reducing both. Going to appeals would also drag things out. If Agrama dies from old age (the man is 77 already) or actually goes to prison, he'll just sign off HG to someone else like any other continuing business.
  5. Bingo. We have a winner. This has absolutely ZERO/NADA/0/ZILCH/NIL/NOTHING to do with Macross. HG is not part of the indictment. Only Agrama is and this would go into appeals, followed by extradition which would go on for years. It's good for a point & laugh-moment, but that's about it.
  6. We don't do comparisons like that here (we even have a rule for it). Different series are governed by their own set of rules so such comparisons are pointless. Hell, comparing the Gundam-franchise within itself is difficult.
  7. Just adding to what's been said, Don't nit-pick the details. As long as you walk away with the overall story of what happened, that's all you'll need. Example: Macross Plus takes place during the Super Nova competition, which tested the next generation of variable fighter. During that period, a popular AI singing idol name Sharon Apple, went rogue and took over an entire city and the UN military. The summary applies to both the OAV series and the movie and that's all you'll need. Watching any Macross like watching movies and drama shows about World War II, Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc. Is that how it happened? Not really. But they got the basic idea.
  8. Which is why I'm hoping they burn off the paint scheme at some point during the movie. And give War Machine back his arm guns.
  9. This is probably closer to the truth. I'm actually glad I didn't pay for this (and yes, I just downloaded it and watched it, which I'm starting to regret). Visually it was great, but character and plot-wise.... I want those 2-some hours of my life sleep back.
  10. HD versions: http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/marvel/ironman3/ Except they can't kill off Tony Stark or really end his story since they need him for Avengers 2. BTW, here's the official synopsis:

  12. The "duct tape"-mod was a mod that allowed a flashlight-beam of light to be used on all the weapons. This spawned from complaints that the scenery was so dark (looked awesome, but was too dark) and us players had to whip out the flashlight so often just to see where the frak we were all the time. So someone came up with the idea to make a mod that projected a beam of light (or highlighted certain textures from a cone-like shape) from the front of the weapons. This could be done since game was fairly modifiable at the time. Why was it called the "duct-tape"-mod? Because, of all things around this game, there's got to be a roll of duct tape that we can tape a flashlight to our weapons. Remember Aliens and Ripley's "field-modded" pulse rifle/flamethrower? Yeah, that was the idea. Yes, it messed with the atmosphere of the game but it was annoying enough to draw up support for this mod.
  13. Really? That's what they made how many number of fanboys press "Like" on Facebook for? A preview to tell them a preview is coming later this week?
  14. It's been a year or 2 since Caprica ended? Yeah, it's not coming back. Cast and crew have moved on. It would be great if they released Blood & Chrome as a standalone TV movie but I'm not holding my breath.
  15. I'm sick of directors that make expensive moves full of VFX/fill their movies with Bayexplosions, hires no name actors or models thinking they can act, or change a franchise so much that it becomes a laughable footnote but you don't see me complaining about it.

  18. Looks like we'll be seeing this later rather than sooner. 'Elysium' lands August 2013, 'RoboCop' to 2014 - Sony gives summer slot to Blomkamp's sci-fi pic while 'RoboCop' moves to Feb. 7 Take it how you will.
  19. Question: "What was your favorite Gundam from the Gundam AGE Series?" I admit, I did like AGE-2's design out of that whole lackluster series.
  20. This case was just a simple similarly-named trademark dispute which is probably a dime-a-dozen (in most parts of the legal world), i.e., this happens probably too commonly. The plaintiff (Algotex) filed a dispute saying that the name "MACROSS" from the defendant (HG) infringes on their trademark "ACROSS" because the trademarks apply to clothing. But since the logos and names are fairly different, the trademarks don't infringe on each other. This has zero-influence on anything related to Macross. This is one of those filler cases that fill up the patent courts.
