    seriously. look at the feet, the enlarged hip area, the overall blockiness. its almost as if whoever did the redesign of the vf-1 into skyfire...saw this and took it a few more steps further.

    wow that is a detailed analysis dave! btw, are you looking at these under flurorescent lights to see easier? Anyway, to be honest I just like consistency. it'd be nice for those collecting dyrl if all the valks were the same "off white" (although i'm not sure thats an accurate description) as the yamato. i'm not super fussed about the intake covers and feet though it'd be nice to have consistency there as well. that being said, what i would prefer for the dyrl valks would be (and this is in my dream world and will never happen probably so don't shoot me)...a very very light grey instead of off white...sort of like some of the bandai 1/55 (not sure if just the reissue was like that in 2001/2002 or if they always were). back to the real world, i think arcadia really kinda screwed with a lot of collector's plans when they released the bright white (with a few pinkish uv sensitive parts) for those yamato 1/60 collectors looking to round out their collections. fortunately for me, i have all i wanted from dyrl already...well i guess it'd be NICE to have a vf-1s max...but i'm not about to hunt one down if i have to pay a lot for it. :-)

    i call it revisionist history or not canon for actual G1 especially because they are deviating so much from the actual robot designs used in g1. . :-) canon for "united franchise theory"....sure.

    for some people yes, but i got to disagree. g1 trypticon is still iconic. i couldn't care less about a video game only trypticon (also didn't like his design so much when i googeld it) and i'm sure many are teh same way. and yes animated blitzwing is a more important character to his fiction than g1 blitzwing was but clearly animated one was an homage to the g1 character in many ways so the classics toy is homaging the g1 one directly and then anothe rtime by referencin the animated guy....arguably. lol

    so over the weekend i totally binge watched and finished season one (heck it was only 12 episodes afterall) and have to say...i'm a HUGE fan so far. bring on season 2!! now to go read the manga and see any differences or added detail. haha.

    i have a v2. its pretty great, definitely the best VV..but not without issues. if these hang around long enough i might pick up a second (a V3 this time i suppose? don' know the difference between 2 and 3) if i can get good price.

    yup my first exposure was late 80s too with "clash of the bionooids" i really did not like the voices of the people who dubbed it. i was thinking "wow, this animation is far better than SDFM" though. SDFM had its moments (adn still my preferred version of macross), but DYRL blows it away with animation quality and iconic moments etc. its too bad all these years later...we still can't have a bluray of it with english subtitles. :-(

    is it? the pilot is a DYRL roy though..but it has the red triangle...near the cockpit the arcadias did not have...perhaps its a decal? also they are not pinkish...but that is hard to tell unless under the right(wrong) light.

    yup that stand looks nice even if its only for one position. i never opened my 30th anny valk...wasn't the stand that came with that one sort of similar?

    call me crazy but i think the FP ones look pretty awesome...if i was INTO "CHUG", i'd get it but a 7.6" figure from FP with a targetmaster? that will be expensive if they stick to their premium pricing scheme and the inlcusion of the targetmaster seems likely for them to try to justify a high price...i would not expect them to be much cheaper than the "MP Style" offerings form FT or GP I think the FT ones look great so far. I already have a scoria. gigapowers look ok too but not a fan of the exposed dino legs in bot mode (unless its sludge) as...i had the g1 toys already. I also like the FT aesthetics better so far. Size...well, gigpaowers will be slightly bigger but both will still be too short compared to the upcoming giant magnus. who knows, maybe i will get both sets if macrosss stuff form arcadia and bandai is slow this year. haha

    ah thanks gakken. didn't realize those were buttons with sounds. that is pretty sweet. guess i'll wait for more info...if the vmax is just those highlights on the armor that darring pointed out i think it may not be worth it to wait.

    so....is this the same thing reissued...but with extra parts? coming early 2015. http://www.anime-export.com/product/20526 think i may jump on this instead of tracking the older one down...seems like a better deal because of whatever "vmax" parts are?

    i do wonder why it is that the exact same design has almost zero issues on alto's version fo the vf-171. i hope luca's will be trouble free as well. FWIW, i have 3 vf-171 CF...they are all still whole, complete and unbroken...but i've never transformed any of them more than putting on the weapons/armor parts on one of them. lol. MW made me afraid to. lol.

    i always wished i had ordered more than one low viz roy. one of my favorites for sure. the more i look at new valks....the more i keep coming back to these classic vf-1 designs too.

    vf-1d. need a second seat for some backseat shenanigans with the minmay the genie is also giving me (oh and she will be less annoying than the sdfm version of her lol).

    is that really a new kit or a custom? i picked up the kotobukiya kit for just under $60...who knows when i will have the time to build it. lol. also preordered the new version sentinel is putting out (anime color version?). love this design and the anime is shaping up to be a must watch too!

    dang, i'd be happy with a 2nd vf-25g...stunning color scheme IMO. did you buy them all up front or find them on auction etc afterwards.

    Transformers wasn't ever really good fiction/show...it was just fun cuz we were kids and loved the robot designs. lol i mean i can stand behind most of S1 and S2 as somewhat watchable due to nostaglia factors but i struggle with season 3 and rodimus emo woah is me prime. it almost pains me that the best animation the S1-2 characters ever saw was their (often death) scenes in the 86 movie, followed by the commercials, and then a few seconds here and there in the cartoon it seemed likd they gave a crap about the animation. (i mean yeah SDFM was much the same way with inconsistency in quality of animation but not nearly as AWFUL when it was bad). i'm trying to watch headmasters right now and only a handful of episodes in i stopped and haven't been back to it in in like a month or two now.

    as much as i hate HG, i woudln't mind seeing the further adventure of Scott. lol. shadow chronicles was kinda...meh, but not that horrible. i'm kinda thinking "knights of sidonia" might be the new "robotech" for thie gneration if it catches on...watchd the first 4 eppies on netflix...not bad. i do wish there were more different mecha though..the mk17 and mk18 look identical. lol

    and this thing was beginning to grow on me too. at first i just ordered it becase..."new valk", then i started to come around. now, it needsa back brace in battroid (i'd have been ok with it in gerwalk because face it that gerwalk mode never looked like it was gonna support itself...though it seems the tradiational gerwalk mode can be achieved wtihout the brace...it is the additiaonl flip down of that bottom piece that allows the waist twist in gerwalk that demands the use of that brace. disappointed to see it seems like it might be necessary for battroid.
