Yeah I didn't touch my 25A for over a week after mauling it attempting to put it into battroid for the first time, and I still can't do it. I don't know what it is, I guess it's just me, but I still can't do it. Nothing I've read or watched has helped me in the slightest, I still can't get it, it just doesn't make sense. I've seen people post how the head should look but I still don't understand how to get there, I can get the whole head assembly to sort of shift up and back, but it still doesn't look right, and I have not one single time gotten the front of the plane to line up correctly under the chest. At this point the whole thing is a scratched mess, I also cracked the hell out of the area where the head/neck "extender" goes in and out, from all the stress of course, it was also entirely too tight out of the box, and for two I just jerked and pulled it around so much it's nearly split and caused the whole head to to pop out. I'm really disappointed to say the least, some user error I can admit, but I can't help but feel the instructions are nowhere near good enough for a first timer to the 25 series to grasp. I understand some of the V1 releases had issues with head clearance or something else, but I just can't help but feel the chest and head area of these V2s is way too overcomplicated and over-engineered. Suffice it to say, I'm done with this line, and I'll probably be selling that 29 Anniversary I stupidly jumped the gun on as well.

I managed to coerce the head back into position for fighter, the main frustration I'm having is the lack of direction, for such a complex neck and chest transformation I found myself miles from having any of that sitting properly. Thanks again for anyone that tried to help but I think this is a lost cause for me, I have an old roommate in town for the next two weeks who may want to go home with this. Can't say I didn't try, but this 25 business is not for me. I managed to get it back into fighter and geez, the fit is all over the place, it's way more gappy then before I touched it lol, and it appears one of my arms screwed up, they both extend to the same length but one collapses in more than the other so it's uneven, I had a tough time popping the shield back onto fighter, looks like I'm cancelling those super parts!

Damn, just damn, I mean, I'm almost speechless. After several breaks, as in stuff that won't pop back on, I am now just attempting to put it back to fighter to be done with it, and of course, I can't get the hip mechanism to close flush below the head, so now, no fighter mode either. Several people have tried explaining this mechanism, I've watched 4 different renewal transformation videos, and I still don't get it, and now, I'm f%@$!@, I don't even know how to put this POS back into fighter. I really don't know what to do, I'm now playing with this thing almost in fighter mode, fiddling with the head yet again, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to just f#@!$%& go back in, I'm starting to rage, this is driving me crazy, I just want to box it but I can't even do that.

I already watched the updated video you posted too, unfortunately it still doesn't help. The position the head is in, the way it's facing, and the design of those stupid lower horns are making it impossible. I listened to, watched, and read everything I could find for the past 2 hours now and nothing. I tried what he said in the video, pushing what I thought was the chest plate up and nothing, I heard some cracking while trying to move something else up and back so I stopped. I sort of noticed the issue too, as soon as I took the figure out of the box in fighter I studied it then the box art and I noticed the head was clearly facing the wrong way, the visor/camera was visible flush on top of the fighter and everything. Thanks again for trying to help, I'm probably just going to box this guy then sell him, this experience left a horrible taste in my mouth.

It's blowing my mind how absolutely futile everything I'm trying is, I'm looking at all the hinges, trying to figure out what goes where, what bends and how, and I just can't do it, this head will not f&*!@%$ clear. Every video I see of a renewal transformation the guy just says "pull the head out", unfortunately I can't, it's just not that easy, it's killing me. This head facing the wrong way is f&*#^@! up every tutorial or explanation I can find, the design of the head and the position it was shoved into is a dead-end for me. Like I said if I knew more or if I could have at least completed this transformation before on another figure I'd have a better shot, but without someone capable that I can just hand this off to I'm thinking this thing is just never going to see battroid, which f$!#&@% sucks.

Lol that was the first video I looked up, I always go to Anymoon for my Macross videos, unfortunately it doesn't go into transformation whatsoever, he only has one renewal transformation video and it is with super parts attached, on a 25S. Thanks though.

I'm trying with the instructions, they still aren't doing it for me, plus the head isn't facing the right way and there's two different spots rubbing hard on each other, there's a fine mark around the head now from the stress. I still don't have a clue, I'm fiddling with the bottom and inside the chest, and I just don't f&*@#!% know., I can get one horn to clear and that's it the other side just can't get the clearance, I can't get the head and neck area to clear from the chest and pop up.

Okay I didn't want to start a thread but I am f%#*%!@ panicking right now. I just got a 25A and I'm trying to get it to battroid, but I have no clue how to finish the head/neck transformation, the instructions are crap, and not a single video online helps because everyone breezes through this step in one second flat. To make matter worse, I believe the head was mis-transformed in fighter mode, it seems like it is facing the wrong way, or I believe it is. I don't know anything about this transformation since this is my first 25, and I can't get a decent look anywhere else, nothing is helping. I tried maneuvering the head out myself but there is just no clearance, one of the "horns" on the head broke off and is bouncing around somewhere inside the chest, the little heat shield thing popped off too but it appears I can just put it back on. I've attached pics, if anyone can help, please post some pics or at least a more clear step-by-step, I just got this thing and it's already got a minor break, this transformation has been a nightmare, this is officially a fighter-only figure after this.

Holy crap! That's butt-ugly, I'd rather get a shot at a re-issue VF-25S than this.

I'd suggest the Sv-51, I recently pulled my re-issue VF-0S out of storage and it's a horrible POS, granted I had a couple of QC issues out the box, the figure itself did not hold up well. I had way too many issues, it was like fiddling with a V1 Yamato or something, pieces fell off, it was a loose mess after 3 transformations. In my opinion, the VF-0 line was a bit of a mess, I only owned one V1 but it was horrible, and neither my re-issue 0S or 0A are any better off. I'd like to see Arcadia re-release the VF-0, a truly fixed V2 would be great, since the 0D is announced I wouldn't be too surprised if we get these eventually, but for some reason I wouldn't hold my breath for more SV-51s.

One thing I can't help but wonder, I mean it's killing me, is how, how could the second release be so much worse than the original Alto release? I just don't get it, has this ever happened before, has there ever been a second release of a mold that was genuinely worse than the first? I am seeing the CF 171 all over the place including here on MW, and it's relatively cheap, but I just can't, but I almost must because it's so pretty, and yet I won't, but I keep seeing it and I can't...Or can I? This really sucks, it's a strikingly beautiful bird when armored. Does anyone know if the Alto 171 got a re-release? Is there any chance at all we'll get another, possibly fixed run of CF 171s? If not, I may have to take the plunge, I see plenty of people waiting on re-issues on the Renewal 25s, I don't know if Bandai would even re-release either, and if they did would they favor the 25 over this since it was a pretty big disappointment?

I have my first 25 on the way, I got a 25A off of a member on here for a pretty damn reasonable price. The 25A will likely be my only 25 I keep in my collection, as others have said, Frontier's designs were extremely meh in my opinion. Honestly I would like to get a CF 171 as well, but I've heard nothing but horror stories, I really don't want to buy one then accidentally recreate a death scene while transforming it.

This may sound a little crazy, but I'd love a V2 Yamato/Arcadia-made Robotech Battlecry Jack Archer VF-1R. I loved the head and the color scheme, hell I loved Robotech Battlecry in general. It's almost CF, but it's a noticeably darker brown, and 3 lasers, oh yeah, 3. I almost, almost purchased a Toynami masterpiece 1R, it was right there in front of me, but this was barely 2 months after I got my nephew a Masterpiece 1A Dixon/Kakizaki, and suffice to say he and I were both highly disappointed. Now that I think about it, Izzy, or maybe Lizzy, had a pretty cool green colored valk in Battlecry as well, I think it'd be funny if Arcadia kind of said f#!$ you and put out a badass V2 Robotech-only valk.

I need a Hikaru 1J to finish off my Vermillion Squad, the other members have been patiently sitting in storage for like...2 years, I'm now looking at Arcadia...

I caved in and made a big order, all in-stock Mighty Morphin Rangers are on the way, and all the rest are pre-ordered, along with the Legacy Dragonzord. I had plans to save for a 1/60 VF-4, but that aint happening now.

I just need a 1/3000 TV SDF-1, like that's it, some re-issue VF-1s would be nice too. If I was pressed as to what new mold I would like to see, how about some VF-14 Vampire action?

Damn that's awful, and I really wanted one of these, no wonder they are relatively easy to find for less $180.

I don't own any kind of Roy VF-1S, I'm seeing the Arcadia movie one for decent prices too. I specifically wanted a TV version, but that DYRL version is pretty bright, it looks bright enough to pass for a TV version. I too would like Arcadia to put out a wave of new VF-1s, I missed out on the 1D and Hikaru 1J as well, I'd jump on another chance at a 1D with the option parts. From what I've seen based on prices and chat on this board alone, a lot of people would like another shot at M&M 1Js with super parts.

Damn this is a shame, I got a 17D with super parts for Christmas and I really wanted a 171 to go next to it. Like others I kind of despise the Alto color, for some reason I'm always a sucker for CF colors, it's such a shame that for some odd reason the second release of this mold is worse than the first, I can't help but wonder what happened? Hopefully we get a renewal 171 or just a second updated release of the CF version, I would really like to get one eventually.

Is there anywhere still selling super parts for the renewal 25A other than Ebay? I finally got myself locked in on my first VF-25, now it's time to dress it up and make it da bell of da ball.

I'd still like to get a VF-4, I never jumped on board at release and I never pre-ordered. The current price is steep, but it is what it is, that's how 90% of these high-end Macross releases end up. I may try to dump some of my random Hot Toys collections soon, a portion of that could end up being VF-4 money.

So is the glaug dead at this point or what? I mean we've seen the prototypes, is the toynami vinyl line officially dead?

I really liked mine, but I sold them. I would have kept them if they would have continued the line, but after buying the exclusive skull squardon I felt kind of meh, Yamato is putting out some great stuff in 1/60 so I didn't really have a need for a small collection in 1/100.
