X-Men: Days of Future Past, in theaters May 23, 2014
Tking22 replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Damn I just got back from my showing, I absolutely loved it, definitely my favorite X-Men film now replacing X2. I must say, Singer is back in form, this was a great film, there was a lot to cover, and a pretty ridiculous story to tell, but I believe he pulled it off. I didn't feel anything dragged on, the pace was excellent, and surprise surprise, I loved Quicksilver. Note to anyone going to see it, stay after the credits, there is definitely a tasty little scene teasing the events to come.- 329 replies

I always loved this woodland scheme, I know the grey low viz was always the hot ticket but I personally preferred this one. I no longer own any 1/48s, but I'd definitely like to buy a new one just to own at least one, and it would probably be this scheme. -
Simple mix up, for some reason I remembered Wally being Flash in Smallville, I haven't watched it in quite a while, and I am WAY behind on the season 11 comic. I remember Jay appearing in the Justice Society episodes, which were some of my favorites.

Raise the roof for Raul Julia as M. Bison, or uh Vega if you prefer, in the Street Fighter movie! Raul was pretty much the only good thing about this movie, he played his role and he played it well.

This full length trailer really sold me, it looks fantastic. Boy the effects have really come a long way since Wally West's running effects on Smallville. I think the production value is pretty amazing, I just hope they can keep it up, with a character like The Flash they'll more than likely need effects on every episode. CW is nailing it with the live action DC stuff, Arrow had an amazing finale in my opinion, and The Flash is looking badass, I just kind of wish the new Constantine was connected to these series as well, get a little New 52 crossover action happening.

So the show is catching up fast right, like really fast? I believe Danny's stuff is officially into the events of Dance of Dragons, and most of the pairings that characters are in are their current ones in the book, like Brienne and Pod. I'm worried, at this rate they may have one more season's worth of content before they've caught up to the books, they're quickly running out of things to cover in both Essos and Westeros. The big question is when will I actually be able to pickup my year and a half old pre-order for Winds of Winter?

Ah crap, I've been waiting for this to get an official announcement and photo. This is the G2014 figure I want, not any of those crappy big NECA versions with no real detail or articulation, suffice to say I'm ordering two, one for my girlfriend too since she ended up absolutely loving the new movie, which was her first Godzilla film, and like my 31st, it was a fun experience.

I love Ben's Batsuit, the Dark Knight Returns look really does it for me, it instantly kind of indicates to me we're probably going to see an older more experienced Batman, who's probably going to trash Supes for his super tragic fight in Metropolis that killed at least thousands. At this point, I want to see Gal as Wonder Woman, and whoever the guy they cast for Cyborg in his Cyborg costume, a new Superman costume peak would be cool, but I want to see the other Justice League members that are in this.

Hot damn, what a finale! That was pretty epic in scale for basic cable, a lot happened, and I loved it all. Seeing Roy in a mask, the League Vs. Slade's army, the GA Deathstroke duel we all needed, and of course, Waller is going to ask Slade to join the Suicide Squad. Once again, I can't wait for next season, plus, that Flash preview was pretty excellent IMO, I'm sold now, Grant Gustin's Barry in his costume worked for me.

Edge of Tomorrow, on DVD/Blu-ray Oct. 7, 2014
Tking22 replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Really? I don't think it looks even close to any version of Chief's armor, if anything I'd say it resembles a Guyver. Microsoft/Bungie couldn't take any kind of legal action against anyone, not a single element of their universe is unique or original, there are a dozen things I'd say All You Needs armor resembles before even thinking about Halo.- 180 replies

I love it, it looks how I'd expect an impossibly large 150 meter tall radioactive mutant dinosaur to look. Also, I don't think he looks fat, he definitely looks bulky, but if anything I'd say buff, Godzilla looks like he bench presses meteors and can curl an entire island.

Damn I totally watched the VICE Youtube channel for several hours thank you, also not thank you, that was depressing, and yet extremely informative and crushing, VICE is amazing.

Edge of Tomorrow, on DVD/Blu-ray Oct. 7, 2014
Tking22 replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I believe the answer is in your last bit there. I'm sure the film's armor could have exactly resembled the novel if they wanted it to, but it's a big budget film and I'm sure Tom Cruise was quite expensive, gotta get your money's worth on that face! Overall, I think the film's power armors look pretty awful, they're not sleek, they're boring, and bulky, it just looks like a bunch of kibble and garbage hanging off a soldier, it doesn't really look like sci-fi power armor to me.- 180 replies

Another amazing episode of Hannibal tonight, I still can't recommend it enough. Vikings really blew me away last night as well, the production design and scale is simply brilliant, there are plentiful blood and gore effects that are done well, and some great performances all around, Ragnar's son is quickly becoming a stand out character for me. Also, VICE, damn, HBO lets these guys report on some pretty tragic real-world stuff, it's very heart-breaking and informative, I recommend it if you have HBO and HBOgo.

I got my payment notice this morning, I've already got two people in line to buy this guy from me since I decided to keep my 29 Anniversary instead, which I actually sold to my friend a couple of days ago, after Ozma's 29 is gone I officially no longer have any Frontier stuff.

Arrow has some sometimes devastatingly bad NEXT TIME ON segments right after an episode, I saw these images about two weeks ago on a couple of other sites, I'm guessing since it got leaked anyway they just said screw it and threw in a tiny scene of her dual wielding her swords.

SSV Normandy SR2 (Mass Effect 2/3) - 1/700 - scratch
Tking22 replied to Hervé's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I love me some Mass Effect, a truly well crafted interactive space opera for the ages. I'm looking forward to your work, the Normandy is a beast! Only thing, I would think this thread would be best served in The Workshop! or Model kits section of the forum.- 5 replies

I personally never felt Bandai's Macross stuff was worth the money, I recently sold off the last of my Bandai valks and I have no interest in the YF-30 or any of their future offerings. But all that said, I've recently gotten into MonerArts and FiguArts, with some D-Arts on the side, I also own a lot of misc. Chogokin and Max Gokin stuff, so overall I would say I really love Bandai.

I still need a Hikaru 1J, just one, some lucky bastards seem to own 3 or 4 for some reason. I refuse to pay the prices that Hikaru 1Js are currently going for, not when I can nearly get a VF-4 or some other high-end newer valk for the same price.

I loved Gundam Zeonic Front for PS2, it was like Rainbow Six meets Gundam. Getting to play Zeon was badass, every mission where I went up against the RX-78 was thick with tension, I know he's out there, and I know I've got two back-up squads, but is it enough?

This, as a stand alone giant monster movie, it was okay, passable in my opinion, but as a Godzilla film it was awful, there's a reason many refer to him as Zilla and not Godzilla. The hate for a lot of movies I like is upsetting, but there's no need to get annoyed about it.
