  1. Reissued? Dunno. But given how willing Bandai seems to reuse all of their molds I'm willing to wager they'll have some repaints down the line (maybe one of them will be easier to pre-order...)

Maybe they dug out some old stock just for advertisement purposes and there will be some further refinements or changes but I can say looking at the close up pics of the 1S that looks exactly like the old Hi-Metal series. I know they were supposed to be changing the sculpt to look more accurate/better (which is a good thing IMO, if they fix the look in fighter/gerwalk I'd be extremely happy.)
  3. I didn't get the notification either.

It was even pretty easy to pick up the Tamashii Web Exclusive stuff years after release for relatively cheap. I picked up my Max 1J three years after they were available for only $80.
  5. Missed it again, I was asleep. Everyone praising Bandai is an idiot. This type of thing for EVERY SINGLE THING THEY SELL is complete and utter bullshit.
  6. Thaaaaaaaaat looks stupid. It just wasn't interesting or cool looking. A guy riding ants... not doing it for me.
  7. Wow, I've been tied up in a lab all day today and will be all day tomorrow. I probably won't even snag one of the re-ups anywhere.

They already made the VF-19. Maybe. Though I honestly thought the VF-19 was a poor rendition in the High Metal line, I can't see the YF-19 being better.
  9. I have to wonder just how many of these pieces Bandai are producing. For a big time Valk like the 25's I could see them being popular with a large portion of the Japanese public being as they were featured so heavily in a successful Anime like Frontier. But a valk that was on screen for a second in the second movie? It's all older collectors and the bunch who didn't want to pay for the Arcadia one. How many of those are left, considering most of the older collectors like me actually can afford to buy the $300 Arcadia one as well.
  10. Are you going to buy and customize 8?
  11. We'll see what's left when I wake up tomorrow morning. I don't do all-nighters for plastic planes anymore.
  12. This is what we call the difference between a group of people who grew up in a Dojo versus a kid with no training fumbling around trying to figure out how to fight in a method who works for him.
  13. For one thing, Toby Maguire is way too old to play Peter now. Two, he was okay when he was the only one who ever played Spider-Man but he really wasn't like Peter Parker or Spider-Man at all. Too emo as Peter, and completely silent as Spider-Man. Garfield was way better at both roles, he could still be a better Peter Parker but the energetic, wise-cracking Spider-Man he more than nailed.
  14. I'm with Gubaba, it really shouldn't matter that much what the SDF-3 was. Robotech fans shouldn't care because The Sentinels already defines what the SDF-3 is so any supplementary Macross info. is irrelevant to that story anyway (other than most of them wish it was part of Robotech so there's more story/Valks/talent/etc...) For the Macross fans... well, we never even saw an SDF-2 on screen, let alone the SDF-3. One thing you did mention was that the SDF ships were all Megaroad ships as well? Isn't that like giving them ship two classifications at once? I actually never even thought about what might be an SDF vessel anymore. It's an interesting bit of psychology you've stumbled upon.
  15. I finished eating a cheesecake.
  16. You need to have a message, you're confusing the "technobable" science used to solve problems for other higher concepts that aren't in these new movies at all.
  17. So these people who are upset at this... what, revelation? What do they say is actually the SDF-3?
  18. You avoided my point in favor of unnecessary snark. My point was that Star Trek was about something, not just mindless JJ effects bullshit. You could easily make a fast paced, modern, sci-fi looking/sounding Star Trek that is ACTUALLY ABOUT SOMETHING. Hell, look at the praise for movies like Birdman and Interstellar. Aren't both of movies about the human condition? Star Trek was about that and more but these past two movies, while flashy, aren't about a God Damned thing. And that's my problem with them. technoblue is partly right, the first movie showed promise (even if I have more than a dozen complaints about it.) The second movie showed us absolutely nothing. It was a waste of time by an idiot writer who can't come up with a complete thought and a director who knows nothing about telling a story about the human condition. JJ is all about selling sizzle, but he doesn't have a damn clue what a steak is. And with the director they've picked for the third Star Trek we're on our way to another flashy, lifeless nothing. But hey, people will pay to watch some more stupid so it must be an improvement!
  19. Two different things. Star Trek 2 is still considered the best film in the series by most Star Trek fans. That had action but it was done in a tactful and thoughtful way, it also had a morality play and a lot of other stuff from the original series. The new Star Trek has a lot of dumb action that is more in the vein of Star Wars, and goes on about idiotic mysterious destiny and crap like that. I don't think anybody in the fandom is opposed to action, they're opposed to making Star Trek something that it isn't.
  20. Oh man, I forgot to pre-order. Bet I can't get one now.
  21. I do find it amusing how much unanimous praise this version is getting over Arcadia's.
  22. So they had to pick the week AFTER I'm off work for the pre-orders to start.
  23. You too, or whatever other religion/holiday you happen to celebrate. And if not, have a nice Thursday.
