  1. Finished up my led lighting for my Star Trek shelves at work. Looks great. Dimmable as well.
  2. 2nd of 7 reporting in... Overall considering the fact that the ship is very small and basically decals cover literally the entire thing, I think it came out ok. Tons of Microsol.. LOL. Went with a semigloss coat to seal it. Yeh, I know the bottom saucer ones are off center. Won't make that mistake again.. OG Enterprise is decaled and just needs a couple of details hand painted. Pics coming soon on that one! Stay tuned! Edit : forgot the buddy shot!
  3. I rewatched Disney's "The Black Hole" last weekend. WOW. I didn't remember much about it from when I was a kid..That's probably a good thing! I was kinda like ok, I'm good with all this ….up to the last 3 minutes or so of it..then I was like WTFFFF did I just watch??!!!
  4. Congrats @sqidd! When you get around to transforming it, there are some good YT videos to follow along with. The transformation is complex, but not hard and somehow very satisfying! Didn't want to hurl it into the wall..not even once!
  5. I guess I'm the only one who actually thinks it's cool. But as much as I want a larger one, I'm waaaaaay to scared of EM's track record of bad QC, especially with those delicate nacelles. It may sway me if they detailed the XL better, not just enlarge the small one. We'll see I guess. Not like they will be hard to find...
  6. I'm all in for some Dana and Southern Cross figs along with New Gen civilian garb!
  7. No SH*T! For $30 each?! I need two for my office to hang from the ceiling LIKE NOW!
  8. @HardlyNeverSand it completely smooth, with a fine grit sandpaper. 600 should do. Give the hands little wash with Dawn dishwashing soap , don't touch them with your fingers after this!!!! Stick them on a stick of some kind. Oils from your skin are the devil when painting! Then get some White Tamiya Surface Primer, prime it white with a few light coats. Then pick a Tamiya TS lacquer spray paint color that you like. (Tamiya Racing White is a very good off white color, I use it quite often). Apply in light coats and let dry. Should do the trick just fine. You can then seal it if you wish with Tamiya Flat Clear
  9. 2000's ---- MW members --- "We demand perfect transformation Valks! … NOT parts formers as long as they are reasonably priced!" 20-Teens -- MW members -- "We demand anime accurate transforming Valks! We don't care what they cost! We'll pay it!" 2020 and beyond -- MW members --- " We demand parts forming parts for all 3 modes on our Valks cause yeh...that anime magic accuracy thing isn't really possible on some stuff,....but does it have to cost $400+ per Valk?!"
  10. QFT about the 1st 3 seasons of TNG. Other than a few standouts having to do with space/time stuff, "Where Silence Has Lease" and "We'll Always Have Paris" come to mind, the "species of the week on planet X and their problems" are the episodes I skip right over., ohh and most Counselor Troy or Crusher episodes are kinda like Family Guy Meg episodes..LOL . Nope..next. . Other than the one where Crushers trapped in the warp shell bubble thing, that one was pretty good.
  11. HA! I see what you did there @myk Love me some Pitch Meetings.
  12. Watching Jenius' comparison video was very telling. I sold my one 1:48 Yamato off years ago (which I did adore at the time) and went with all 1:60V2's from then on out. The DX does do several things better as he pointed out in the comparison video. Little things, a lot of which I hadn't really caught just by of the amount of time gone by and looking at people's pics here. We all know that Bandai will never best Yamato in the sheer choices of paint schemes, but it has to be said in my opinion that other than the stupid non white landing gear, the teeny weeny TV pilots, the the odd fall apart waist gimmick, (which I do get having it but dang it's annoying), and the arms not locking as securely as the should in fighter mode, the DX engineering wise is king of the hill. We'll see how they stand the test of time. In 10 years will they still be as good as the V2's are now? Time will tell I suppose.
  13. Because we're all so bored waiting to see if Picard or STP??... haha... is going to be #WOKE and a total crapshow, we should list our favorite or top 5 episodes of Next Gen here for the next few days. Or hey, maybe even your top 10 from all the series???....
  14. Simply amazing work here. Should be in a Macross museum somewhere!
  15. Thanks Mechtech. They are yes. The decals are all new and they are the main draw of these kits. The ships are all repops from the 80s and 90s minus the NX01 and maybe the Ent. B. The only problem it has really is that the nacelles are sitting on the pylons at a funky angle...
  16. Yesterday I started the decals on the OG Enterprise and the Kirk/Spock movie one. I made some mistakes it has to be said. I was cutting apart the saucer decals for the white one to make for easier application, but I didn't start in the middle and then work my way around to where the neck joins. I did it from the neck around one way. Bad idea. Long story short the whole underside of the saucer is a bit off center. Oh well... Then for the top part I said screw it and tried the whole topside decal at once. That was almost catastrophic but as you can see ended up not to bad. I'm following ModelChili's build advice on YouTube for these and should have re-watched the decal part before starting, he had the same problem when he tried to do the whole saucer decal at once. The stardrive section is coming along ok, I'll hopefully have one or both of these finished up decal wise later today. Lessons learned for the B. C, D, and E kits though. Yes, slice Aztec saucer decals up, but start from center! All I'm basically going for with these kits is to have semi-decent (better than the Eaglemoss versions) Enterprises in scale on a shelf at work. Definitely not gonna win any prizes with these builds... P.S.. I wish Bandai would get a Star Trek ships liscense for models and give us some 2020 designed Enterprise kits that just freaking kill it.
  17. He was a legend, no doubt. RIP sir.
  18. 1, 2, and 3 are kinda standalone yes. I think the last 3 or so do tie together. I've seen them all but the last 3 or so only once. 1 and 3 are my favs. The last one was very good IMHO. The one where Cruise actually flew the helicopter and Superman guy was in it.
  19. That price is insane.
  20. My days of buying whatever I wanted whenever I want are long gone, (single life...VS married life LOL). I use to just buy 3 or 4 at a time if I liked the look of the ships. Now I have to cherry pick what I really want when I can afford it. Macross stuff usually takes priority over the Eaglemoss stuff and I do get put off Eaglemoss for a while when they have craptastic QC problems.

    Hi-Metal R

That has been one my favorite Macross pics since the early days of the internet. The SDF-1 is just beautiful. The mechs are just funky enough to love. It's the imperfections that make it great. I wonder if anyone every published a book of his Macross artwork...?
  22. I think a lot of us are gonna be in the same boat with the DX-VF-1's. 1-4 Skull Squadron members and out. Just to damn hard to get and a little big. HMR's and Yamarcadia's V2's are just so much easier and more fun to play around with IMHO.
