  1. It did not show up when I searched for it, trying again today...
  2. I liked Looper but - it was not Star Wars like in any way. One good thing about the ST films JJ directed is that he put a bit of SW into ST. Hopefully the director of Looper can switch to the more banter driven dialog and pace of Star Wars.
  3. I'll wait for it to come out on DVD here. The description sounds like a grade school social studies project.
  4. For the Angel Winged humans check out "Frankenstein Unchained". They had the budget to pull it off. The movie itself is a horrible stinking mess though. The wings on Dominion are pretty good if I remember correctly.
  5. I think it is serving the true purpose of the show then... As for layout, most likely you are over thinking the whole thing.
  6. That was painful to watch. So horribly cheesy.
  7. Only real problem for me was the Captain NOT knowing the real mission - that NEVER happens. Other then that I let the rest slide since it is good drama so far. EDIT - only thing that bugged me that was even under no emissions the ship would still have received transmissions.
  8. Sorry if this has already been mentioned but I did not see it. Netflix is bringing this title to the US? (or did they pay to have it made?). Looks interesting from the trailer. If Netflix follows their normal pattern I'll be binging on this on July 4th... http://www.blastr.com/2014-6-26/1st-trailer-netflixs-new-sci-fi-anime-knights-sidonia-awesome
  9. All they have to do with Predator is say that only the first film is "Cannon", the rest of it was garbage. Heck you could even do nearly the exact same plot line and not need a reboot.
  10. Reddsun - the second picture is not showing up.
  11. Anyone else seen the pilot for this one. Watched it last night and will keep watching, if I don't forget or have laundry to do... Not terrible but not great. Supposedly a follow up to the movie "Legion", but I have never seen that movie so can't compare - though I plan to put it on my Netflix queue. Basically God goes away and the Angels start a war on Earth, the show picks up 25 (?) years later.
  12. Saw this and "The Grove Tube" together, two awesome (and awesomely bad in a good way) movies!
  13. The Island wasn't bad, it wasn't good (and it was a ripoff of "Parts: The Clonus Horror" except Island had a budget) but I have seen far worse. Pearl Harbor, if you ignore history, is decent - and it has Kate Beckinsale, and I could watch her in Underworld and like it (especially the second one...)
  14. Avatar is what you get when you recycle every plot available and mix in stunning camera and FX work. It and Gravity are the only reason 3D should exist. Avatar was a great ride the first time and due to the FX and camera work it holds up reasonably well on repeated viewings (even without 3d) but the plot and characters are as cliche as cliche can be.
  15. I never knew he did all those other voices, Shaggy alone was enough to put the man on my list of sadly missed talent.
  16. Check that Safe thing (was it open the first time we see it?) This movie will be ending up in my Blu-Ray collection but that is a while to wait in order to answer that question.
  17. I hated Top Gun, Days of Thunder, and Cocktail - I was happy when Cruise ended his "Competition movie" phase. The rest of his stuff I like. War of the Worlds is a good one, it takes guts to play an un-likeable jerk. "Born on the Fourth of July" proved the man had acting talent, along with "Rain Man". I even liked him in "Far and Away" which was a middling movie at best. It is sad that this movie did so poorly and that Transformers has done so well, since all of the transformers films (other then the animated one from the eighties) was garbage.
  18. Agreed, but you need to do it fast since with that kind of opening it is not going to be around long.
