  1. I watched the following opening cutscene for some game and wish I could UNSEE it. Then a couple of comments on the scifi website are positive. We can't have seen the same thing, all I saw was a bunch of idiots jumping around shooting at a big bad thing for no apparent reason (the worst is the lady with the SMGs firing at it at close range when the guy with the heavier weapons did squat). Am I just getting old and grumpy and letting things like common sense get in the way? http://www.blastr.com/2015-1-9/watch-stunning-cinematic-intro-2k-games-new-sci-fi-shooter-evolve
  2. Not exactly true - a licensee may no longer have rights to distribute what they create but the extra bit they created is THEIRS - if the licensor wants the stuff they will have to pay the licensee to get access to it. That little bit of script shown above is enough to prove we dodged a bullet with that live action film... Back to Delta, singing contest end of January if I remember correctly?
  3. Was that Live Action thing supposed to have been in English? I thought it was going to be a Japanese live action film - but the english script sample threw me off (not to mention the name Richie)
  4. You got your "Short Circuit" in my Robocop...
  5. I thought this last one was the best of the (Hobbit) bunch, which is not really saying very much. Over long and drawn out, in some ways the best part was Bilbo coming home to his stuff being sold. The part with Smaug REALLY OUGHT TO HAVE BEEN IN THE LAST MOVIE. Leaving it for this one was just awkward at best.
  6. He was also Herman Munster in 1995's Here Come the Munsters.
  7. I liked it, up till the ending. Between the newtype and the stupid deaths for stupid reasons it went off the rails there. I found the actual culture on the ship interesting with the caveat that even at the speed the ship was going it would have been able to keep GETTING communications from Earth...
  8. Almost every "Chick Flick" is about the "Human Condition" and many of them are excellent. As much as it pains me to admit it... So too are many of the Oscar winners. ST2 and 6 certainly had that going for them as well.
  9. That is just crazy talk. Hikaru is cookie cutter but Misa is *the* most interesting character in all of Macross.
  10. i thought the Borg had been ruined long before First Contact. What was the episode where Lore was in control of some of them? Was that the same one where one got split from the collective? They were toast the instant TNG tried to humanize them.
  11. I'm glad it is being released but they would have to PAY me to see this - and pay a lot too. (OK, that is enough of my knocking it)
  12. The news did not strike me as a good sign but I'll wait to pass judgement. What else has the director done other than the F&F franchise films? Supposedly he had a couple of TV episodes of genre style programs.
  13. Yeah, Sixties Batman is not a guilty pleasure. It was purposely cheesy done right! As a kid I did not like Egghead but now I love those egg lines. The real question is who is your favorite Catwoman from the show?
  14. I have not cared what any one person thought about movies since Siskel and Ebert (either of those I care, even when I did not agree with them I liked the reasons they gave for their opinion). This latest group of "edgy" reviews, no thanks.
  15. > X Wings are flying tanks? Hardly. If we can continue the World War II analogy, the X Wings are like F6F Hellcats Compared to Japanese planes the best description for an F6F would be "Tank" As for the changes, they all look fine to me.
  16. As much as I thought that movie looked like crap (and it does, I could feel my IQ going lower while the trailer for it was playing) I am disturbed that it was canceled due to terrorism or extortion (choose whichever description you think most appropriate)
  17. The sole purpose it was made was a trap to lure the rebels there to be destroyed, it was completed in time for that so it was "Done". > In a vacuum, range is the difference between launch point and the closest thing along the launch vector. Only problem is that space is not a vacuum in the Star War universe, not sure what it is exactly but it is not a vacuum (or sound would not carry...)
  18. "I feel stretched Gandalf, like too little plot spread over too much running time" That said I plan on watching this at the Imax theater nearby.
  19. No, but I did not care about them anyway (did not even know they existed, I'm just after the show)
  20. Just saw this last night, much better than I expected (I watched the English dub). I didn't find any fault with any of the English VA cast and I was actually impressed with the VA for Two Horns. Only two problems I had were the chest "armor" and the bit about the power problem, either it was badly translated or it was a plot point that was dropped somewhere along the line. (I would have put a spoiler tag around that but there is really nothing to spoil...)
