After that opening weekend perhaps it should be called "Jupiter Descending" I watched that Sinbad movie instead, at least it cost a quarter of what two IMAX tickets would cost. Netflix rental coming up.

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time II: The Quickening
Dynaman replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Found another film to go in this Category. Being a low budget movie I would normally cut it some slack but for two sins. 1 - They SOMEHOW finagled Patrick Stewart into narrating it... 2 - They were trying to do a tribute to Ray Harryhausen with the stop motion creatures but they did it so terribly badly. That just about sums up Sinbad, the Fifth Voyage http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1403862/- 854 replies

Translating into English via google came up with this line. "This work has been developed to manufacture under the Warner Bros. from 2007, again and again planning is in extinction" I got a good chuckle out of that one.

The Fifth Element: Ultimate Edition
Dynaman replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This was the one of the worst and best movies I have ever seen. Plot wise it is a terrible mess, but it has some of the most interesting characterizations (and well acted ones!) on film. The Diva scene is worth watching the entire movie all by itself.- 37 replies

If the reviews say it is pretty but vapid I'll wait for it on Netflix.

The Matrix really wasn't anything great as a movie. It did have a cool look and aspired to something more than it was but if you really look at it you see there is nothing behind it. Not quite as bad as the Jedi code in Star Wars perhaps but pretty darn close. Pity on this film if it really is as bad as they say, it has awesome visuals and I would have seen it in Imax.

I've been watching Moribito and enjoying it. I wish there were more Anime titles about adults out there. -

Have to disagree, Paddington looks like Saccharine sweet kiddie fare that I have no interest in but it did not look terrible like Strange Magic's trailer did.

It is hard to think of Popeye as a remake and even if it is the last big screen Popeye was so bad a restart (Can't call it a reboot either) would be a good idea. That Popeye movie with Robin Williams was such a let down - he NAILED the role of Popeye and most of the others were spot on as well but that plot just plodded along to nowhere.

Black Hole absolutely needs a remake. It was a very good idea with some excellent bits that just wasn't executed correctly.

The 4th season has mini-arcs, some of which are quite good. The final episode though, it was a terrible idea.
-
You have to catch the correct episodes. Now if you want a shirt that just isn't there you can't beat the "uniform" worn by the submarine crews in "UFO".
-
The fourth season of Enterprise was the best of the lot - too late by then since they had lost all their viewers. Yup, they tried to use sex to sell the "younger" generation but they did it so poorly that it was a dud as well.

You know they are releasing "The Force Unleashed" this year since they are afraid to release it after the RT movie... (Man I feel dirty now) RT jokes aside - that is a nicely done picture.- 26 replies

I watched the following opening cutscene for some game and wish I could UNSEE it. Then a couple of comments on the scifi website are positive. We can't have seen the same thing, all I saw was a bunch of idiots jumping around shooting at a big bad thing for no apparent reason (the worst is the lady with the SMGs firing at it at close range when the guy with the heavier weapons did squat). Am I just getting old and grumpy and letting things like common sense get in the way? http://www.blastr.com/2015-1-9/watch-stunning-cinematic-intro-2k-games-new-sci-fi-shooter-evolve- 7068 replies

Macross Δ (Delta) - announcement thread
Dynaman replied to renegadeleader1's topic in Movies and TV Series
Not exactly true - a licensee may no longer have rights to distribute what they create but the extra bit they created is THEIRS - if the licensor wants the stuff they will have to pay the licensee to get access to it. That little bit of script shown above is enough to prove we dodged a bullet with that live action film... Back to Delta, singing contest end of January if I remember correctly?- 2715 replies
