  1. Past hour
  2. Not really a big TF collector and I'm only really into the characters (Autobots) I remember from the original cartoon up until the 86 movie (which is the only TF show/movie that I can stand to watch these days). Plus, Hasbro TFs are not as easy to come by here... so it's great for me that Takara came out with this set. I wanna say I got this 100% cuz of nostalgia, but I also wanted to see if I could fit those backpack wing thingys and shoulder cannon onto my earthrise Wheeljack since this one will be staying in its cybertronian vehicle mode.
  3. Today
  4. Hahahaha. Face palm… yeah that would be a great way to make the tent and cables. Sometimes I forget that materials other than plastic can be used to great effect. Also readily available. Thanks for that suggestion. Appreciate it.
  5. Yes I did, and my Roy GBP, but I'm playing with Macross7 toys right now so they went straight in the closet. When Max arrives I'll do something for ThreeZero and I have a plan for more DX content but first Basara needs to save some space whales.
  6. Yesterday
  7. @jeniusDid you already get your Miria VF-1J? Can we get pictures or a YouTube review?
  8. The first VF-1 toy optimized for GERWALK.
  9. Wow-that box art is incredible! Thanks for sharing!
  10. Macross M3 gets almost no coverage in art books and the like outside of Kawamori's designs for the VF-3000, VF-9, and VF-14. I don't think I've ever seen the line art for the game's final boss mecha published. It must be in some doujin or some game magazine from the period. The game's old official website on shoeisha.co.jp does not credit any other designs besides Shoji Kawamori but AFAIK it's never been covered in any of his official art books. Which is doubly odd, since he does acknowledge the other Zentradi mecha he's designed in them. Which was rather surprising, given that the factory satellites producing the Glaug were destroyed 280,000 or so years before the original series... making them quite rare as a result. One has to wonder if the so-called "Super Glaug" in Macross Delta is a modified First Space War-vintage Glaug chassis or a Human-made reproduction. Oh no, there are lots. The mission to capture a factory satellite that we see in the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross series was just the first of many. Macross Chronicle's Mechanic Sheet for the Factory Satellite mentions that "more than 20" factory satellites were seized and relocated by the New UN Forces in the following months. Exactly when they came into possession of a factory satellite capable of producing Queadluun-Rau battle suits is not clearly stated, but seems likely to have happened somewhere in the early 2030s given that General Galaxy was commissioned to restore the facility in 2035 in response to the New UN Forces diminishing stock of Queadluun-Rau battle suits.
  11. Chapter 5: AXIA The battle over Voldor reaches a dramatic climax. Along with 4, one of the best ones so far. This time it has even more interesting tidbits. Overall, this one has been my favorite one to work on the description of the dogfight is beautiful and even poetic. 12. Are they charging a massive up cost for a little cut on his arm and a sword?
  13. You know they’re desperate when they have to throw a fart joke in the trailer
  14. I’ve seen a lot of battroid pics and it tends to look a bit chunky in spots and the fighter kinda has the same issue, but i think you’re really on to something by leaving it in Gerwalk.
  15. A tent probably wouldn’t be too hard to make. Just some paper and wires and it could be finished in no time. Just use some water to give the paper a proper wrinkled look and once it’s dry mist in the colors with an airbrush
  16. Just got back from the movie and it was a really good sci-fi action adventure film. Kudos to 20th Century Fox for not playing it safe and the PG-13 rating didn't bother me either. So yeah, go see it.
  17. Touché! I have to admit that I almost always skip Gerwalk mode during transformation . Plus, out of all the VF toys I own, only 1 is displayed in Gerwalk (≈75% in Fighter and the rest in Battroid). All very good points for this VF-1 Gerwalk mode and very cool pose too. I did transform my 1S to fighter and propped it on its stand... that lasted less than a day cuz I just really prefer that beefy Battroid mode with that glorious 1S head with its perfectly green, transparent visor. If 3Z makes a 1D or Max's 1A, I would definitely consider displaying those in Gerwalk mode.

    HMR VF-19P

Cheapest I've seen the 19P for a shop in the US is kicksgenerationtoys at $140 before shipping (no tax if you're outside of Washington state). Seems like everywhere else like eknight, Kappa Hobby and so on are at $180+
  19. Looks cheap, terrible, and obnoxious.
  20. It's a fair point, especially since the gunpods are made by different companies than the planes, so it would make sense that fleets would buy "off the shelf" weapons to equip their mechs with. New stuff is more fun, though. 😁
  21. My package came in today. I’m stoked!
  22. Wow. I love that box art!
  23. Not exactly what you're asking for since Seto already answered, but the NUNS additionally has the Neo Glaug in their arsenal for their giant pilots as well, which is a transforming battle pod (and a variable attacker for miclones,) which not only has its own convoluted history from the Anti-UN Variable Glaug, but is said to be high performing that no one other then a small Meltran could tap into its full power. Between that and the Queadluun-Rhea, I'd think the giant grunts could use something akin to the VF-171, a workhorse that probably won't melt like butter the moment a VF crosses arms with it. There's also the improved Super Glaug that the 130th Independent Marine Battalion also had, presumably in lesser numbers because of its role as a commander battlepod. And huh, I was under the impression that there was only one factory satellite that was seized by that time and the UN Queadluun stock was running out because they were working with the very few they acquired from the defectors after The First Space War was done with. It's unfortunate and kinda weird how we don't have any "immediate" source for this machine tbh; not only there's not a single sourcebook trying to explain it's mechanical stats or history where Mkyatake's designs from VF-X2 did, but from the scan you can garner that it was drawn by Kawamori, yet it's not present in any artbook that catalogues his concept art for the franchise. The most I can gather from it is what's presented from the game itself; it's piloted by 3 giants, specifically Moaramia clones that were cloned(?) to test the natural body functions of Zentradi...Whatever that means.
  24. I understand that Sony has other things besides the Spider-Verse, but this is too generic. It's hard to believe they traded K-Pop Demon Hunters for this.
  25. It seems like Ras’ al Ghul skipped leg day.
  26. With an upcoming Macross M3 translation on the way, I've been thinking again about the game's "Final Weapon" - the, to my knowledge, unnamed Zentradi combining robot that appears as the final boss of M3. the Only art I've ever been able to find of it is a partially-lost split-up scan from "Nanashi's Information Group", a group that actually appears to be defunct and whose scan is as old as I am. This is the only mention I've ever seen made of it on the internet, and I'm curious if we have literally any other information related to it - I have no idea where the scan even came from.
  27. It's mediocre, but it's still exciting to see a translation patch of it at all - it does have a pretty alright story with some interesting implications.
