  3. 😆 just a glitch or it really hates flies. Got a good chuckle, thanks! The Fly Chair. I was imagining this with circus music playing instead of the overly dramatic music they supplied. Try it- it's good for a giggle. From a practical standpoint, I wonder what kind of fuel capacity, service ceiling, and range this thing has. I'm guessing it can't go much higher which would greatly limit its use for any kind of S&R work or recon. Moreover, it's only a single-seater, so rescue's out of the question. Much like Corleo, its cool factor overshadows its practicality.
  4. Do you have a picture where it's located?
  5. Anyone have their Sentinel Legioss crack at the rotating hips? I just took my Eta (original release) off the stand where it's been untouched for months and when I flipped it over to transform, I immediately noticed a hairline crack on one of the hips. Needless to say, really disappointed but am glad that I decided to preorder the upcoming reisuse with the Tread. Checked my Iota and Zeta and they are ok.
  6. I'm bested. Your knowledge of all this stuff truly is impressive. Despite having only just watched Frontier a couple months ago, I don't recall Alto's flying the Shin Kudo actor in a VF-1. I'm sure I spotted it while watching, and likely pointed it out to the wife as I do, but obviously the import of it didn't land. That said, I distinctly remember Ranka's planting one on Alto as they rehearsed the Mao-Shin underwater scene. Perhaps I'm a romantic at heart after all.
  7. To be honest, the main cast of GQuuuuuuX is so underdeveloped that I can't say that either Machu or Nyan feels particularly distinct. Ep5 seems to suggest that the reason we have two female leads is to tease a possible love triangle centered on Shuji. Why either of the girls would be interested in a boy with no apparent personality traits to speak of and the emotional range of a cress sandwich remains to be established. Five'll get you twenty the Red Gundam's Alpha Psycommu is... Huh, yeah... GQuuuuuuX really is the first noteworthy property that Studio Khara has worked on since it was established in '06. What the hell were they doing for the last 19 years besides desperately milking Evangelion fans with mediocre sequels?
  8. Outside of milking Evangelion harder than Peter North's dong was in the 90s, Studio Khara's portfolio is nothing but forgettable garbage and stuff they didn't actually work on, but got credit because Hideaki Anno was involved.
  9. Do I see a bit of Celine Dion in that face?

  11. Still looks like a cat to me with that half mask (not even close to the Phantom of the Opera’s). I would wait for a possible Malak or Mara Jade, but that’s Howard’s call.
  12. I'm not even watching it, man. The only animated Star Wars I am interested in is Visions, which is free from Filoni's influence.
  13. IMO, Hikaru's getting an unfairly bad rap there... he was ordered to take off directly into enemy fire, got hit almost right away, and crashed because his aircraft lost power. He did fumble with the Battroid, but at least part of that is also attributable to the battle damage his Valkyrie had suffered making it even harder for him to control. Alto had prior experience on older model Valkyries before he jumped into the VF-25 at the start of Macross Frontier. It doesn't come up in the TV anime directly, but supplemental material, the TV-adjacent short stories, audio dramas, and alternate versions of the story like the novelizations and manga all indicate that Mihoshi Academy's aerospace classes involve training with real Valkyries. Specifically, Mihoshi Academy is said to have a number of civilian market VF-1C Valkyries kitted out as flight training aircraft. In the TV series short story "Actor's Sky" and the Macross Frontier TV novelization, Alto takes the guy playing Shin Kudo in the Bird Human movie up for a training flight in one to help him prep for the role. That's part of why he's able to fly his borrowed VF-25 as effectively as he does, since all he's really unfamiliar with at that point are the weapons.
  14. Rather comprehensive list; there are names of characters there I've never heard of, but then I've never played any of the Japanese games or read any of the manga. I was thinking of Hikaru since, although he's a pilot and proficient flying a standard aircraft, the VF-1 presented two additional configurations for which he was unprepared. And of course, he handled it clumsily thus crashing into Minmay's bedroom. That at least, in contrast to the usual prowess shown by first-time mecha pilots, was a more realistic portrayal of how things would actually likely play out. Concerning Alto, he'd trained via simulations and by flitting about in his flight gear; however, having never actually sat in a Valk until the Vajra attack, he acquitted himself quite admirably with William's VF-25 to protect Ranka, even if he only basically just stood there in GERWALK and pulled the trigger (I shall forever think of Shinji Ikari every time I hear that phrase). He also developed rather quickly into a very skilled pilot, as seems to be the case with most Macross protagonists regardless of background. Hayate initially raised a brow and a groan with his "Immelmann Dance". Pretty cheeky way of justifying his later skill in the VF-31; by virtue of his Workroid experience, I think it would have made for a more believable portrayal had he mastered the battroid, given the similarities, but struggled with the flying aspects. Instead, they gave that weakness to Mirage, both the progeny and student of ace pilots (isn't the whole Jenius family, though?) As for the rest, however, you make a good case for their skill, especially compared to the untrained Amuro Rays, Benagher Links, or Loran Cehacks of the Gundam universe(s).
  15. I'll have to go check whether my previous order is carried over. Slight bummer about the stickers not being included, but I feel lke that will be one of the easiest things to solve, and I'm sure there will be local options, just not free ones. I'm more concerned what the cost is going to be to actually receive the order at all now. Edit: Looks like I actually pre-paid my old order in full in September, so I should be good whenever the new stock comes in.
  16. This new trailer doesn't do anything for me, it's an apology trailer for the delay, it covers and conveys nothing new. When is the release? How much will GTA VI cost? What about the PC release? How about some actual gameplay? What is the fps target on current-gen consoles? Since it's GTA Rockstar offered nothing new, and didn't need to, the hype train still flying down the tracks.
  17. This season for me is just becoming tedious. I like Witch Watch, Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru and Slime 300 (more Yuuki Aoi than the show). I keep on forgetting things are on.
  18. This show is just bad. I really do not see a reason for Machu at all. Is she there for fanservice. Nyaan is a much better character. The Red Gundam talking to its pilot schtick is just getting annoying. I hate Witch From Mercury but this show is changing my opinion on it. When is the last time I really enjoyed watching Gundam.
