These look like they might actually be enjoyable, in a "play with toys, don't just look at them" way, and I'm there for it.

DX VF-31J Super Siegfried (Hayate Immelmann Use) Revival Version
rsvictor1976 replied to sh9000's topic in Toys
I'm seeing a lot of posts on several sites from new fans just discovering Macross. I know most of the people on here probably already have these toys but it's always nice to encourage new fans into collecting these toys. -
You must have forgotten that as great as Andor was...it's still "Star Wars"......a franchise where characters can return from even death.....somehow

So maybe the elbow piece should have been molded into upper and lower parts? Maybe it can rotate and it just isn't being posed correctly? Either way not really an eyesore to me, I'm more dissapointed in the metallic paint job....it's like KC thinks the customers who PO'd the regult with the pilot back in 2022 are being rewarded with a metallic variant...- 2503 replies

The Regut Scout is the next one...so not really concerning to me....I'm more concerned on the final cost on all this stuff and the shipping, especially for those who already pre-paid for several items during the Kickstarter...- 2503 replies

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Dangard Ace replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I left my A Rank Party...etc turned all harem-y. It was pretty harem-y to start but I'm losing interest. So instead I started watching Country Bumpkin to Swordmaster. First episode starts off with expectation of harem-again but the MC doesn't roll that way. 7 episodes in I'm enjoying it. Female characters outnumber the male characters revolving around the MC but it's not all fawning and the story arcs are quick and fun. Fire Force. Yup still following the manga. The future arcs/fights are going to be wild. -
Yesterdays episode felt very Fifth Element but Gatwa went HARD against the villain. Ms Flood's revealed! Also going to miss next weeks episode. Ugh.

A good dramatic story could be so much better than just a string of exposions and superfast action squences, just to use Bay's Transformers as a comparison. Don't get me wrong, I do like Gunn's films, the earlier GoTG movies especially. But that Superman trailer looks like it's going to have a dozen villlains, or enough flashbacks for a dozen movies. That being said, this could be a real good film. There are sequences that I really like, but some have me worried. Krypto bouncing all over a badly wounded Supes just for the LOLs is one of them. Cheapening a dramatic scene just for laughs could seriously hurt the tone of the film, and Gunn has done that before. The scene from GoTG, when Quill gets the others to help him defend Zandar and Rocket comes out with his a-holes line. Funny, yes, but it was a gag moment at the expense of an emotional scene when the team is finally pulling together. Different movie, but the same thing happened in the first Dr Strange. The moment he decides to stand and fight is really cool scene with him drawing on the cape and then looking into a mirror - and then the cape starts trying to caress his cheek. A dramatic moment cheapened by the gag. I hope he hasn't started leaning on it like a crutch - rather than growing past it.

Super glue is a little risky because if you build it up too much, it can be a pain to sand back down. It’s also more solid and can wear out a bit sooner. While something like a bit of gloss can be almost rubbery and give a little grip. I’d suggest an acrylic though since it won’t glue the parts like a lacquer might. And the gloss can always be reapplied if things do wear down. Just thin it with a bit of water and let it drip into the joint
-
Have you messed with super glue to build up those friction areas? I imagine once a pose is established I will leave it be for the most part.
-
I just used a little extra paint into the joint there. Gloss works pretty good as well, but those methods will only work if it’s not played with too much

An interesting topic - What do May'n sings at Karaoke? (2 pages) https://www.animatetimes.com/news/details.php?id=1747203003&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=ranking_20250518_07&fbclid=IwY2xjawKWxk9leHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETFpampSQ1cwdjFueW9oWVdGAR6ZnsjHh6l6R2deAl_GIPvzqbm1sDqqewWWkB0_3qkLoZmWF6M_JaDGWFRrmg_aem_TMqLyts_zLyC7YlcgrKt5A From Page 2. The Karaoke management announced that they have only 5 minutes left. Let's sing Phonic Nation! May'n loves her own song! XD A special collab with Animate stores

This is for everyone planning to go to Japan in the future. The air line I took to Tokyo no longer issue the white form (Immigration) and yellow form (tax declaration) before they land. The forms are now at the airport. If your plane lands at close to midnight, it's going to be chaos! I see people frantically filling in the forms while lining up to clear customs. A better way is to go to this site : https://www.vjw.digital.go.jp/main/#/vjwplo001 Open an account. Fill in the details, scan your passport. Your current trip will be like a project. On your next trip you just start a new project - you don't hv to fill again details with regards to the passport. Once you submit, you'll get a QR code. A screen shot of the QR code is accepted by the immigration officer. Just do this as soon as you have your Flight No. and Hotel booking confirmed. Do you clear immigration faster? NO! You're still thrown together with those with the manual forms, just less PANIC.

I've yet to see any of the AOTP Prime figs. My Wally has retro Gears, TFOne figs, a copy or two of Party Wallop, a copy or two of Armada Red Alert, one or two Bayformer figs and that's about it. I'm likely forgetting a fig or two, but since I've actually been considering picking up Alchemist Prime, and perhaps Prima (I dig the moon buggyish alt), I've been dismayed to find them MIA in the two Wallies I frequent the most. The wife and I are planning a trip to Target tomorrow so perhaps I'll have more luck there. They carry a better selection of LEGO as well, so win-win. I'm not certain when Earthspark Soundwave is releasing, but I'm down for that fgure as well. Neat alt mode, and for a Takara/Hasbro jetformer, it looks to be better executed than the majority of their efforts.- 17158 replies

I'm quite sure everyone is working hard, it's just that I only cover May'n, so It looked like she's really everywhere. Their income comes mainly from merchandise, so they really have to depend on fans buying her stuff. There is no specific concert open for foreigners. Just get the ticket and enjoy!

Is there any other female JP singer as busy as her??? It seems like she's everywhere haha. And is this one open to foreigners? I'm not sure if I can get tickets to the Macross F live. The next opportunity for me to see her might be in AFA SG (if finances allow).

I haven't seen much for TF figures lately. I see a very small trickle of AOTP, Red Alert and Prima mostly....did come across ONE and ONLY ONE Megatronus/Fallen. Everything else has been TFOne or slightly older product. Hell there's once again an over saturation of SS86 Bee again.- 17158 replies

Passed by Microcenter to pick up a new headset for one of the kids. They had 30 9070xt's for $699.00 that just came in. Walked around for a bit and by the time I circled back to the GPUs they were down to 19. Snagged one. I think I have a buyer for my 7900xt at $500. We'll see if it's worth a 200-ish upgrade. -
So it begins. I now have three kits in motion as I wait for paint to arrive for the previous two. Test fit went ok. Yeah this is going to need some extra TLC. I want to put some ball joints in hips for more stability. Maybe put some weight in the feet too? One of the more pressing issues are the arms and hatch. I need to figure out how to make the arm articulation tighter and rear hatch sit flush in the closed position. They just flop down and can’t support the weight. Not sure how to approach that.

Being a latecomer to the party I seem to remember being real desperate trying to pick up a 31j super pack which was scarcely popping up on Mandarake and if you blinked, you’d miss it.😆 The tables have turned indeed, at least for Delta franchise.

And to think there were folks denying that the tariff situation was going to affect our hobby. FWIW, I've gotten the majority of the G1 characters I wanted in the main line, so if they were to stop production, while it would sadden me greatly, I'd continue to draw joy from what I have. That said, there are still characters left to do: Windcharger, the rest of the Constructicons, the Omnibots (I wish!!!!), a better Seeker mold, a better Soundwave mold, a better Astrotrain and Blitzwing (with equally good alt modes), better cassettes (not much hope but I can still wish), the rest of the Constructicons, the rest of the Combaticons, perhaps a deluxe Powerglide, Animated Blackout (b/c the original toy is ludicrously priced on the aftermarket), and a voyager scaled FOC Prime, just to name my most wanted off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more (I'd love to see most of Animated redone, faithful to Derrick Wyatt's vision and not homogenized with G1), but I covered the basics. I'm sure, if Hasbro were to drop the toys, third party would step up to fill the CHUG scale void, but I'd still miss the official releases. Takara would likely keep it going for at least the Asian market, so there'd likely be an avenue there as well, albeit pricier again for all the tariff nonsense. Anyway, for now, it looks like we'll still get our plastic crack. It's an uneasy reprieve, however, from the sobering concern that Hasbro has already contemplated ending toy production, especially when TF fandom is still thriving.- 17158 replies
