STAR WARS Merchandise Episode - 2
tekering replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
As Hasbro Star Wars toys are no longer imported by Toy Sapiens, Amazon.co.jp is now the official Japanese retailer... although they seem a little confused by the product line: This image links to all the Black Series listings, but neither the vehicle nor the figure it comes with are part of the line. 🙄 -
Picked up mine yesterday, but it's gone straight into my closet. No plans to open it. in the near future. 😅

The Transformers Thread (licensed) Next
mikeszekely replied to mikeszekely's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, I mean, I like to think of myself as pretty deep into the Transformers lore and I personally have always found the Thirteen to be a fascinating concept... but Fub Pub's stuff was always kind of mid-tier fan-fiction at best and personally had no desire for Hasbro to be beholden to that pseudo continuity. A guy that can combine with other combiner dudes works for me. Nexus Prime himself (like most of the other Thirteen) would be neither, as he left Cybertron long before they split into factions. But yeah, I wonder about the implications of having him combined with a mix of Aerialbots and Combaticons. Do they willingly join with Nexus, or is he basically enslaving them? I find the mix of limbs Mark used as curious for another reason... I mentioned that the Fun Pub version had a tank, a helicopter, a jet, and an A-10-ish plane for limbs. And Mark gave Nexus a tank, a helicopter, a jet, and... well, I guess he thought a space shuttle looks more like an A-10 than a fighter jet.🤷♂️. There is a lot of speculation without any leaks or real evidence that Hasbro may release a Gen Selects-style box set with a frame and some repainted Aerialbots/Combaticons as dedicated limbs for Nexus. I mean, the Geewunner in me wants them the most, but I'm in for everyone but Prime Cliffjumper... and that's because I not only bought the boxset that he originally came in, I ebayed an extra one to customize.- 18040 replies

I get what you’re saying. It would he kinda getting in the way of the missiles on the inside. Should probably had some kinda support made to look a little more plausible. But other than that, it looks pretty great -

$54 + $49 +$6 damn that's insane.

I never shipped my HLJ DX Fire Valk, so trying to do it now with FedEx is.. eh. I'm waiting on several other insanely late shipments that HLJ just cannot seem to get in stock, so I'm not in any rush at all here. Duties are working out to 20% on the nose, but the handling fee is tiny at least. Not sure what the current rate is supposed to be, I haven't kept up with it.

I thought they fixed that? I haven't shipped from them in a while but I remember someone saying it was down... If not to 15 maybe 20? Hopefully someone can chime in.

Don't forget that if you live in the US you'll be paying an extra 30% if you order from HLJ. I haven't preordered anything from them when it became clear they're charging well above the tariff rate for Japan. I wish I could cancel my existing POs and PW items from them, which is probably why they changed their cancelation policy not too long ago to be much more draconian.

Sorry for the off topic, but if anyone does find a way to access Arcadia's website from outside Japan, please lemme know. I've tried two major VPN providers, proxying through a vps I have IN Japan, and even location spoofing from my phone. Haven't had ANY success EDIT: Nevermind, finally found a solution. Had to use a proxy service guaranteeing residential IP addresses from Japan. The known working one for me was https://decodo.com/

Making progress on the GALACTICA. I initially was going to use fiber-optic lighting but found it to be a real hassle and not effectively lighting the flight pods like I wanted. So, I managed to find this miniature (model railroad) LED lighting strips and they are amazing. Getting all the wiring & lighting where I want it is coming along nicely, lots of detail work to do inside the light pods and exterior of course. The inside is kind of messy, but I'll have that all cleaned up before I seal it up. So far, the biggest issue is finding spare BSG guns/cannons for this kit. I know there are some Photo-etch kits out there, but my big stubby fingers have a hard time with those. Maybe somewhere out there are resin or 3D printed guns available. Sorry for the massive pics.
