I heard he actually died four years ago, it just took Death this long to work up the courage to tell Chuck.
-
Cool, I think I'll hold off and see what's happens in August once the release comes out or if there are US preorders available since I missed the Japanese window.
-
Seems like most Revival stuff has been selling around $300 at US retailers so I can't see why you wouldn't be able to get one for around that price. With the Supreme Court ruling that the tariffs are illegal there's the potential for them to be a little cheaper moving forward as well. Some US retailers are a little cheaper than others so shop around when it becomes available for pre order
-
Yeah, tariffs are dumb... but you think i could get a revival for $300 or so in August. V1 dx VF-1S looks like it's around $400 otherwise.

Your Most Recent General Toy Purchase - 2024 Edition

When I look up Freiren, the images somehow reminds me of a very old Sega game I never played - Lunar: The Silver Star Story. Obviously they both have no relation, and I have no inkling of what both stories are about. It's just purely on basis of artwork the character designs of Lunar grabs me, & Freiren is somehow giving me the same vibe.- 1130 replies

Got the bad news this morning like a lot of others. Love how he’s one of the few people that memes made him seem cooler rather than having them trash him. I grew up with his movies and even watched Walker quite a bit. He was always great and really loved him as an action star. He was also one of the few action actors that never really had a bad story on the gossip news either, just an amazing American movie icon. His memory will live on
-
That’s the bit I was thinking of for sure. It’s like certain details started as one thin through production and ended up something totally different by the time toy and model companies got around to things

RIP Legend.

I’m gonna miss him. I’m placing bets though, I think Stallone will be the last between him, Arnold and Van Dam.

It seems that it's a little easier than it's been to get these now but with tariffs it's gonna cost more no matter where you get it

I've been dormant in the collecting game for a few years. I think i got purchase fatigue combined with losing the desire to wake up at 1AM to slam a server for an hour to get a $200-$400 toy. So i don't have any dx 1/48th (though I have a couple of yamatos). What are the chances I'll be able to pick up a DX VF-1S Roy revival in August at non-scalper prices? Or should I just be trolling ebay for a v1 release?
-
Yep. The backpack SDFM line-art detail is this version here. Which was never really used. Most animation detail and the majority of SDFM line-art has it blacked out. For DYRL the panel looks like vertical slats. And for the TT/Bandai toys it was small round circular thrusters.

Thanks, guys. Whatever Hasbro called it, it seems TakaraTomy didn't give it a Japanese release... ...which is ironic, given the original Wingblade Optimus Prime never got a Hasbro release.- 9530 replies

Yeah, the only thing the sketches confirm is Kawamori-san's goal of making the VF-1 easy for the animators to draw (which, if memory serves, is something that the Designer's Notes specifically points out.)

These are a couple of my recent projects. Both were scratchbuilt from recycled electronics and scrap materials at pretty minimal cost. The arcade bartop runs MAME via Pegasus Frontend on Linux Mint. It's built around an old Dell all-in-one PC with very humble specs, dual core Celeron and 8GB RAM. The virtual pinball mini runs VPX via Batocera. It's powered by an N100 mini PC with 1080p playfield and 600p DMD in the backbox. Both were lots of fun to design and build, and tons of fun in action 👍
