Reissues at a large markup for toys that the small & diehard Macross fanbase would have already purchased years ago. Also, Delta was just a terrible show. Frontier was a much better show, but its toy line is well over a decade old now and really needs to be rebuilt from scratch. And of course we can't get any OG Macross stuff directly thanks to a certain money laundering operation posing as a, uh, production studio? I'm not even sure what they are at this point.

It's a reissue and not only is it limit 1 per person, but when you buy it they take your picture at the store and use facial recognition software to make sure you're not leaving and repeatedly coming back to buy more copies. So it's not really something you can scalp all that easily without an army of scalpers.

Very excited for that. Strange New Worlds might not be the most groundbreaking Star Trek series out there, but it really does a fantastic job of recapturing that lighthearted cameraderie, that feeling of high adventure, and the sense of wonder that was such an integral part of the original Star Trek and its successors in the 80's and 90's. Even my parents, who are OG Trekkies, absolutely love Strange New Worlds. They've been eagerly waiting for news of when the new season would drop ever since I first got them to watch the series.

DX VF-31J Super Siegfried (Hayate Immelmann Use) Revival Version
WhatBoutMyStar replied to sh9000's topic in Toys
There was a shop (Flip Side Gaming) a couple weeks ago that was selling the Revival 31J for $130ish. They also had the Revival 171EX for $120ish and Bogue's 262 for around $180. Doesn't help that this was the 300th time the 31J has been released and you'd figure anyone who wanted a 31J would've already bought one by now. Regardless of that, I think it's pretty clear at this point that Macross stuff just doesn't sell well in the US. -

Kinda strange that in all the pictures, the elbow pads are facing outwards rather than covering the elbows

I don't know if the length is different but the Minmay Collection version definitely has a hard time getting flush to the ground. I find that one not to fit as well as the other version, but one's mileage may vary as the watercolor version also has a hard time fitting everything together. I think over time that may improve, but yeah there is a lot of problems with the other version sitting properly.

@MechTech Thanks. I’m having a blast with these old kits. That turbine project you shared is wild. I’m blown away. Hahahaha Dad joke, but seriously you are on some other level while I’m here playing in the mud. lol I'm excited to see what else you have to share.

Likewise. Jetfire already represents an excellent Macross crossover without compromising the valk to impart another character's likeness. Thanks to Harmony Gold, we'll never get a proper official VF-1 Jetfire again, so I'll be satisfied with FG-01 (supposed to be delivered on Wednesday- been a long wait). Any interest I may have had in Basara Prime has all but ebbed; I'd rather they just gave us a proper VF-19 and gave it a Transformers name as they did with Jetfire. IMHO, by kludging it with Prime, all they did was ruin a truly beautiful transforming jet, which, historically, is par for the course with Takara/Hasbro, more's the pity. I'll just stick with my Arcadia and Bandai Macross offerings, thanks. I'm thinking the Evangelion Prime mash-up is going to be equally tragic. I, like so many fans, love the iconic look of the Evas; mixing their thin, lanky design with the boxy Optimus design will serve only to egregiously erode what makes the Eva so visually distinct and appealing (to those who like it, anyway). I think this whole line is geared far more towards Prime collectors who need to have every incarnation of the character, as the collaborative partners, like the VF-19, are being dealt the greater compromises. For a Macross fan like me, the beautiful valk designs are the main draw, so corrupting them to shoehorn in a Transformers' character's traits renders the appeal nonexistent.- 17155 replies

I guess my FG-01 will be my Transformers x Macross Collaborative. I would have wanted an official updated G1 toy Jetfire VF-1S as a Macross Collaborative for many reasons but oh well. Definitely skipping Basara Prime.- 17155 replies

Their Dana in armor was similarly metallic, but at least the color scheme was more-or-less accurate... ...but every color on their Zentraedi soldier is WRONG. 🤨 Where it should be black, it's silver. Where it should be grey, it's purple. Where it should be brown, it's bright red. Where it should be dull lavender, it's hot pink! Cyrus must be colorblind. 🙄- 2498 replies
